1 Description and Function:
Enlarge your Home Entertainment System with the AVS 46/47 HDMITM switcher. The AVS switchers enable you to connect 2 or 3 source devices to one LCD/Plasma TV, screen or video projector, depending on your model.
Source Devices: sources like Receiver, DVD-Player, Blue Ray-Player, PCs, etc. Output Devices: drains like monitors, video projectors, TVs, etc.
2 Intended Use:
Your switcher is provided for audio-/video use only. It is not allowed to use the device in other ways than described in chapter “Description and
Function”. Use this device only in dry interior rooms. The symbol with the house reminds you of that. If you do not attend to these regulations and notes on safety, it might causes fatal accidents, injuries and damages to persons and property.

3 Notes on Safety:
ATTENTION! Only skilled electricians may assemble and disassemble the housing of the product. There is a risk of electric shock and short circuit!
• Your product is not a toy and is not meant for children, because it contains small parts which can be swallowed and can injure when used inappropriately!
• Please install the system and devices attached to it in a way that persons cannot be injured, or objects not be damaged for example by dropping or stumbling.
• Please remove the packing materials, because children may cut themselves on them while playing. Furthermore, there is a risk of swallowing and inhalation of incidentals and
insulating material.
• Avoid places with high temperatures, or humidity, or places which might come into
contact with water.
• Do not install the product close to openings of air conditioners, or at places with an excessive amount of dust or smoke.
• Do not install the product at places subject to vibration, or oscillation.
• Do not modify and alter the product and any accessories! Make sure you also read the Chapter “Warranty and Liability”. Do not use any damaged parts.
• Keep enough space around all devices for a good ventlation and free motion and to avoid damages.
• Plug and unplug all cables slowly and carefully.
• During transport, observe the details listed in the Chapter “Specications”, and imple-
ment measures suitable for transport, e.g. use the original package.
• For questions, defects, mechanical damages, malfunctions, and other functional problems which cannot be resolved by this guide, please contact your dealer for repair or replacement, as described in the Chapter “Warranty and Liability”.

5 Operating Elements:
5.1 Introduction:
The HDMITM switcher can be switched by using the SELECT button or by using the automatic and intelligent switching function. The HD signals of the source devices are to be transmitted to an output device. Plug in the source devices to the INPUTS 1 and 2 or 1, 2 and 3. A red Power LED shows the product is ready to use.
5.2 Connecting:
- Connect the input of the output device to the output plug of the switcher.
- Connct the outputs of the source devices to the INPUTS of the switcher.
1. Connect the source devices and the output device like described in the pictures.
2. Press the SELECT button to select the preferred channel.

5.3 Intelligent switching function:
1. When connecting a source device to the switcher or switching on an already connected source device, the switcher changes to this channel automatically and selects the new device in that way. The selected channel will be shown by the corresponding LED.
2. When switching off or disconnecting a source device, the switcher automatically changes to the next connected source device in order 1-2-(3).
In case of switching a source device into stand-by mode, the switcher is not able

to use the intelligent switching function. That‘s why switch off the source device completely or disconnect it from mains.
5.4 Manual switching function:
Also adjust the switcher manually by using the SELECT button for selecting the preferred channel. The channels change in order of 1,2,(3). The selected channel is signalized by the corresponding LED.
6 Care, Maintenance, Storage, and Transport:
ATTENTION! There is a risk of electric shock and short circuit!
• The product is maintenance free.
• Use a dry linen cloth to clean your product, or use a slightly moist cloth for heavy stains. Look out for live cables of your device during cleaning!
• Attend avoiding risks of stumbling by installing the cables.
• Avoid places with high temperatures, humidity, or places which can become wet, also during care, maintenance, storage, and transport.
• Follow the safety symbols on the packing during transport.
7 Troubleshooting:
Problem Action
No picture - Make sure, all connections to source devices and output device
are properly plugged in by HDMITM cables.
- Check if all devices are connected with a power cable and if they
are switched on.
- Check all connections and cables for damages.
Pictures without tone
Resolution does not reach 1080p.
- Mind conclusive connections of the cables.
- Check, if the used cable only can transmit pictures like DVI cables. By using a DVI to HDMI transmitted, too.
- Make sure that the source devices (e.g. DVD Player) and output device (e.g. a TV) support a resolution of 1080p.
- Also check your HDMI cables, supporting 1080p.
