Safety Regulations

The printer PP 404 (CI - 4040) and PP 405 (CI - 4050) fulfils the safety
regulations according to UL 1950 and VDE (IEC 950) and CSA 22.2/No. 950 for
for computer systems.

The mains cable must be connected to a ground protected wall-socket. The
selected voltage of the printer needs to agree with the local voltage.

The power plug must be easily accessible at any time so that it can be
disconnected immediately in case of danger or for maintenance purposes..

Before installing the printer, check the surrounding conditions in which the
printer will be placed (see next page).

During a thunderstorm you should never attempt to connect or disconnect any
data transfer cables.

The power supply should only be opened and checked by authorized personnel.
Repairs and maintenance beyond the descriptions of chapter 4 Maintenance
(see Users Manual on the CD-ROM) may only be attempted by authorized
personnel as well. Repairs done inappropriately may cause damage and severe
danger for the user.

There are warning symbols to draw the user's attention to possible injuries:

This symbol is visible when the top cover has been
opened. It indicates that the print head is extremely
hot after long periods of printing.

Electromagnetic Compatibility

We certify that the equipment at issue,

Type: Printer PP 404 (CI - 4040) and PP 405 (CI - 4050)

corresponds to the law regulations ruling electromagnetic compatibility of
appliances (89/336/EWG) and, therefore, fulfils the requirements for conformity
marking with the CE-sign.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a
Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are
designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio
frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the in­struction manual, may cause interference to radio communications.

However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or
television reception, it can be determined by turning the equipment off and on.
The user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:

S Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

S Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

S Connect the equipment to an outlet on a circuit different from the circuit

to which the receiver is connected.

S Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Shielded interface cables should be used with this unit to ensure compliance
with Class B limits.

Changes and modifications not explicitly allowed by the equipment's
manufacturer could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Operating Environment

Avoid installing the printer where it is exposed to moisture or heat (eg. direct sun
light).

S Temperature: + 10EC to + 35EC (+50EF to +95EF)
S Humidity: 20% to 80%
S Humidity with Automatic (only printer CI - 4050)

Sheet Feeder (ASF): 30% to 70%

Slots and openings in the printer's housing are provided for ventilation. Always
ensure that these openings are not obstructed.

Also ensure that the cables at the rear of the printer do not interfere with the
output paper path.

When processing fanfold paper always place the printer with its front edge
slightly off the edge of the table.

About this Manual

The CI - 4040 / CI - 4050 Quick Reference guide is a short and easy
description of the printer. It gives a quick overview of how to use the printer and
should be used as a complement to the User’s Manual, witch you will find on the
CD-ROM.

The following convention is used in this manual:

[START/STOP] Operator Panel Key functions are always depicted in brackets.

Remove Transport Lock

S Open the top cover, by grasping the top cover on the left hand side
S Remove the transport locking clip from the print head drive belt

Installing the Personality Module (only Printer CI - 4050)

S Insert the Personality Module with the component side upwards until the

connector fully engages. Hand tighten the two lock screws.

Note:

S To avoid damage due to electrostatic discharge, do not touch the pins or

components of the PM.

S Never attempt to install or remove a PM while the printer is switched ON.

Connection to a Computer

Note: The printer and the computer must be powerd OFF

S Connect the interface cable coming from the computer to the printer's

parallel or serial port.

Power switch / Voltage range

S Before powering ON: Check correct voltage range
S Power ON is indicated by a green LED on the operator panel.

Operator Control Panel

Each key of the operator panel has multiple functions.

The function keys are active in the STOP mode. To enter the STOP mode, press

[START / STOP] .

After having presed one of the top row keys, the keys function as a cursor to
navigate through thr menu tree (up, down, left, or right).

To reactivate the basic finction (i.e. Menu, Paper Source, Font, or Pitch), press

[START / STOP] twice.

Status ONLINE LOCAL MENU Mode

[Macro 1] [MENU] [LEFT]

[Macro 1]

By pressing this key the printer enters into the LOCAL MEMU mode.
The selection must be confirmed with [RIGHT] or can be canceled by
pressing the [START/STOP] key. In both cases the printer changes
to the READY mode.

[MENU]

As soon as the menu mode has been activated, the keys in the top
row can only be used as cursor keys to move within the menu tree
(up, down, right, and left).

[LEFT]

This key can be used as a cursor to go one step back in the menu
mode.

[Macro 2] [PAPER [UP]

SOURCE]

[Macro 2]

By pressing this key the printer enters into the LOCAL MENU mode.
The selection must be confirmed with [RIGHT] or can be canceled by
pressing the [START/STOP] key. In both cases the printer changes
to the READY mode.

[PAPER SOURCE]

This key is a shortcut into the PAPER SOURCE position of the
configuration menu (see page 34).

[UP]

This key can be used as a cursor to go up in the Menu mode.

[Macro 3] [FONT] [DOWN]

[Macro 3]

By pressing this key the printer enters into the LOCAL MENU mode.
The selection must be confirmed with [RIGHT] or can be canceled by
pressing the [START/STOP] key. In both cases the printer changes
to the READY mode.

[FONT]

This key is a shortcut into the menu tree. The position in the menu
tree is immediately FONT.

[DOWN]

This key can be used as a cursor to go down in the Menu mode.

Status ONLINE LOCAL MENU Mode

[Macro 4] [PITCH] [RIGHT]

[Macro 4]

By pressing this key the printer enters into the LOCAL MENU mode.
The selection must be confirmed with [RIGHT] or can be canceled by
pressing the [START/STOP] key. In both cases the printer changes
to the READY mode.

[PITCH]

This key is a shortcut into the menu tree. The position in the menu
tree is immediately PITCH.

[RIGHT]

This key can be used as a cursor to select and save a menu point.

[V-POS ADJ] [INSERT or —

EJECT]

[V-POS ADJ] (Vertical Position Adjustment)

After pressing this key the vertical position can be exactly selected
for the actual macro and paper path. The position is defined as offset
to the actual Top of Form position.The TOP MARGIN and BOTTOM
MARGIN settings are taken into account as well.
The correction is / inch (0.42 mm), where "-" is up the page and "+"

is further down the page. The values can be selected by using the

[UP] and [DOWN] keys like in LOCAL MENU MODE.

The parameter is part of the printer´s configuration set up memory
and can be activated for the runtime with [RIGHT].
For permanent saving of V-POS values the Menu Mode should be
used to store the values in a macro.

[INSERT or EJECT]

After pressing this key, fanfold paper in the park position is fed into
the print position. If fanfold paper is in the print position it is fed into
the cut/tear off position by pressing this key. After the paper has
been teared off, a new print command moves the the fanfold paper
automatically to the print position.

Status ONLINE LOCAL MENU Mode

[FANFOLD ADJ] [PAPER FEED] —

[FANFOLD ADJ] (Fanfold Adjustment)

A continuous form can be manually displaced by this function when it
is correctly loaded at the park position or already feed and partly
printed. As soon as the Fanfold Adjustment mode is entered, by
pressing the key, the printer stops printing and changes into the
LOCAL mode. A vertical displacement is possible by pressing the
keys [PAPER UP] or [PAPER DOWN].

[PAPER FEED]

The paper moves / " (0.28 mm) forwards. Holding down the key

results a continuous feeding.
Forward movement of paper at the park position is stopped at the
print position. Forward movement of paper at the print position is
stopped at the tear off position.

[PAPER DOWN]

By pressing the key the paper moves / " (0.28 mm) backwards and

after a short delay it results a continuous feeding.
Backward movement of paper is stopped either at park position, print
position or at the tear off position. This is depending on the actual
paper position while pressing the key.

[STOP] [START] —

[STOP]

After pressing this key the printer enters the LOCAL mode.

[START]

After pressing this key the printer enters the READY mode.

Install Ribbon

S To install the ribbon, the printer must be powered on.
S Put the printer into LOCAL mode (Press [START/STOP] key)
S Open the top cover. The printhead moves to the insert position.
S Move the ribbon feed guide of the cassette to the indicated position (picture

below) and turn the green knob to remove any excess slack.

S Position the lower mounting pin (a) on the guide to the right. Slide the

cassette downward. In this position, the green ribbon feed guide touches the
green plastic clip.

S Move the cassette towards you until you hear a click on both sides. Swing

the ribbon underneath the print head for the final click. The audible clicks
inicate that the mounting pins have engaged properly.

Note: When installed correctly the ribbon cassette has a sloping position.

S Move the print head back and forth to settle the ribbon in the correct position.
S If necessary remove excess ribbon slack by turning the green knob

clockwise.

S Close the top cover and press [START/STOP] .

Mounting the Output Stacker (only printer CI - 4050)

There are two rails in the top cover for the two positions of the output stacker:

S for paper with 80 g/m2 or thicker ! left picture
S for thin paper ! right picture

Paper Loading

Tractor:
Inserting Fanfold Paper for the First Time

S Ensure that the printer is placed in the depression on the top of the stand

(option). If the printer is used without a stand, align the printer with the front
edge of the table. The cables at the back of the printer should be tucked into
the cable clips in order not to block the paper path.

Note: (only for printer CI - 4040) If the manual front insertion guide (Option) is

in use, pull it upwards against the resistance and remove by pulling
forward.

Note: (only for printer CI - 4050) Hold the front of the manual insertion

guide (4) on both sides, pull upwards against the resistance and remove
by pulling forward.

for both printer:

S Pull the green tractor lock levers toward you to release the tractors.
S Lock the left tractor at the new position by pressing the green tractor level

backward.

S Roughly adjust the right tractor to the paper width, and space out the paper

supports evenly.

S Open the tractor covers (1) and insert the paper.
S Close the tractor covers.
S Move the right tractor until the paper is straight but not too tight.
S Lock the right tractor by pushing back the green lock levers again.

S Refit the manual insertion guide
S Initiate a printout to check the margins. Readjust the tractors until the printer

prints within the desired margins. (Configuration Printout see pages 20 + 21)

Manual Front Insertion Guide

for Printer CI - 4040 (Option)

S For single sheet insertion you can use a special option.
S Insert the Manual Front Isertion Guide (1) above the tractors and push it

down.

S Release the screw (2) of the left hand paper guide (3). Adjust the guide (3) to

the position of the left margen and fix it with the screw (2).

Note: If continuous form paper is in print position on the platen and has not

been teared off, it will be moved forward and TEAR OFF PAPER will be
displayed.

for printer CI - 4050 (standard)

S Ensure that the manual front insertion guide (1) is installed.
S Adjust the left hand paper guide (22) as illustrated below. In this setting the

margin has the smallest value possible.

S Adjust the right hand paper guide (23) to the width of the paper to be used.

for both printer
S Select paper source MANUAL by the following sequence of keys:

If continuous form paper is in print position on the platen and has not been torn

off it will be moved forward and TEAR OFF PAPER will be displayed on the LCD.
Tear off the paper from left to right and press [START/STOP]. Continuous form
paper is placed into the park position and LOAD MANUAL is displayed.

S Insert single sheet evenly. After a short delay the printer draws in the sheet.

Optional ASF Cassettes (only for printer CI - 4050)

Up to 3 optional ASF cassettes for cut sheet paper can be adapted to the printer.
Two different types of cassettes are available:

S Cassette type A for standard paper.
S Cassette type B for heavy paper and envelopes.

For detailed information refer to chapter 7 Automatic Sheet Feeder Cassettes
in the User’s Manual.

Platen

Platen

The platen is a heavy roller with a rubber surface. It is used as a counterpart for
the printhead neadles below the paper.

Print head

Note: Detailed informations about Platen and Printhead replacement please

refer to Chapter 4 Maintenance of the User’s Manual.

The menu PRINT OUT illustrates the actual printer set-up. The following steps
show which keys to use to start this printout.

MACROS

CI - 4040 or CI - 4050 MACROs are groups of user defined settings (such as
paper length, font, pitch etc.). There are 4 MACROs available and can be
activated by either the Operator Control Panel or software commands (see User
Manual for details).
The Factory Default settings for the 4 MACROs can be seen on pages before.

MACRO Configuration
There are two items in the OFFLINE MENU for macro configuration.
MACRO SELECT to activate a macro and CHANGE MACRO to define the

individual parameter settings. All parameter settings via the operator panel or via

selected MACRO is shown by a * next to the MACRO number in the
Configuration print (see pages before). When switching on the printer the last
saved macro will be the current active MACRO. Once a MACRO setting
parameter has been changed, it must be saved before the printer is powered off,
or all changes will be lost. See page 25 how to save MACROs.

The 4 MACROs can be selected through quick select keys, when the printer is in
the READY mode. This function can only be used for a quick selection for the
following print jobs until the printer is switched off. It is not possible to save the
macro selection when using the quick selection function.

Vertical Position Adjustment for cut sheet and page oriented applications

In READY mode the printer provides a quick adjustment for the vertical position
with printjobs using cut sheet or Form Feed commands at the end of every
page. Pressing [V-POS ADJ] enters the adjustment procedure. The selected
value becomes valid as offset starting on top of the next page.

Vertical Position Displacement for fanfold applications

In READY mode the printer provides a quick adjustment for the vertical position
within printjobs using fanfold paper and no Form Feed commands at the end of
every page. Pressing [FANFOLD ADJ] enters the adjustment procedure. The
displacement value performs a vertical shift of the actual print position on the
paper. It is valid until the next Form Feed.

Sicherheitsbestimmungen

Die Drucker PP 404 (CI - 4040) und PP 405 (CI - 4050) entsprechen den
einschlägigen Sicherheitsbestimmungen nach IEC und VDE für
Datenverarbeitungseinrichtungen (EN 60950).

Der Drucker ist mit einer sicherheitsgeprüften Netzleitung ausgerüstet und darf
nur an eine geerdete Schutzkontaktsteckdose angeschlossen werden. Der
eingestellte Netzspannungsbereich muß mit der örtlichen Netzspannung über­einstimmen.

Zur vollständigen Trennung vom Spannungsnetz (z. B. bei Instandhaltungs­arbeiten oder bei Gefahr als Not-Aus-Einrichtung) muß die Steckverbindung des
Netzkabels leicht zugänglich sein. Zur Trennung von der Netzspannung muß
das Gerät durch Ziehen des Netzsteckers spannungslos geschaltet werden.

Beim Aufstellen müssen die Umgebungsbedingungen beachtet werden. Auch
sollten während Gewitter die Datenübertragungsleitungen weder angeschlossen
noch gelöst werden.

Die Stromversorgung darf nur von Fachpersonal geöffnet werden. Reparaturen,
die über die in Kapitel 4 beschriebenen Wartungsarbeiten hinausgehen, dürfen
nur von Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen
können erhebliche Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen.

Durch das Warnsymbol wird auf eine mögliche Verletzungsgefahr hingewiesen:

Dieses Symbol wird beim Öffnen der oberen
Abdeckung sichtbar. Es signalisiert, daß der
Druckkopf nach einer längeren Druckphase sehr heiß
wird.

Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit

Hiermit wird bestätigt, daß vorliegende Geräte,

Typ: Drucker PP 404 (CI - 4040) und Drucker PP 405 (CI - 4050)

den Richtlinien des Gesetzes über die elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit von
Geräten (89/336/EWG) entspricht und damit die Voraussetzung für die Kon­formitätskennzeichnung mit dem CE-Zeichen erfüllt sind.

Um die Einhaltung der Grenzwerte gemäß dem Prüfnormen für Störaussendung
(EN 55022, Klasse B) und Störfestigkeit (EN 50081-1, Generic Standard) zu
gewährleisten, sind grundsätzlich abgeschirmte Schnittstellenkabel zu ver­wenden.

Modifikationen und Änderungen, die nicht ausdrücklich vom Hersteller geneh­migt sind, können zum Erlöschen der Betriebserlaubnis führen.

Betriebsumgebung

Den Drucker nicht an Orten aufstellen, an denen er Feuchtigkeit oder Wärme
ausgesetzt ist (z.B. in direktem Sonnenlicht).

S Temperatur: +10EC bis +35EC (+50EF bis +95EF)
S relative Feuchte: 20% bis 80%
S rel. Feuchte bei automatischer
S Papierzuführung: 30% bis 70%

Das Druckergehäuse ist mit Schlitzen und Öffnungen versehen, damit die
entstehende Wärme abgeführt werden kann. Diese Öffnungen dürfen nicht
verdeckt werden.

Bei der Verwendung von Endlospapier muß der Drucker so aufgestellt werden,
daß seine Vorderkante leicht über die Tischkante hinausragt.

Außerdem ist sicherzustellen, daß die Kabel an der Rückseite des Druckers die
Papierausgabe nicht behindern.

Die CI - 4040 / CI - 4050 Kurzanleitung ist eine Beschreibung der Drucker. Sie
gibt einen schnellen Überblick über die Handhabung der Geräte. Die
Kurzanleitung ist als Ergänzung zu dem Benutzerhandbuch gedacht, welches
sich auf der beiliegenden CD-ROM befindet

Das Bedienfeld

Wirkung der acht Funktionstasten ist abhängig von der Betriebsart des
Druckers.

Die Funktionstasten sind im STOP Modus aktiv. In den STOP Modus gelangt
man durch Drücken der [START / STOP] Taste.

Nach Betätigung einer der Tasten in der oberen Reihe, werden die Funktionen
nach links, auf, ab oder nach rechts zur Navigation durch das Menü wirksam.

Um die Basisfunktionen (Menü, Papierquelle, Font, oder Zeichenabstand) zu
deaktivieren, die [START / STOP] Taste noch einmal mal Betätigen.

Status BEREIT STOP MENÜ Modus

[Makro 1]

Durch Betätigung dieser Taste wechselt der Drucker in den STOP
Modus. Das gewählt Makro 1 kann durch die Taste [RECHTS]
aktiviert werden. Im Falle eines Bedienungsfehlers drückt man

[START/STOP] Taste noch einmal. In beiden Fällen kehrt der

Drucker in den BEREIT Modus zurück.

[MENUE]

Sobald der Menü-Modus aktiviert ist, können die Tasten der oberen
Reihe nur noch zur Navigation durch das Menü benutzt werden (auf,
ab, rechts, oder links).

[LINKS]

Diese Taste nutzt man, um im Menü eine Stufe zurück zugelangen.

[Makro 2] [PAPIER [AUF]

Drucker in den BEREIT Modus zurück.

[ZEICHENABSTAND]

Zur schnellen Einstellung des Zeichenabstandes im MENUE (siehe
Seite 34).

[RECHTS]

Diese Teste nutzt man, um im Menü weiter nach rechts zugelangen.
In der letzten Stufe des Menü-Modus erreicht man die Selektion
einer Menüeinstellung. Auch wird mit dieser Taste die Sicherung
aller Einstellungen aktiviert (siehe Seite 25 und 34).

Mit dieser Funktion erreicht man den direkten Einsprung in den
Menü Modus, um die vertikale Positionierung anzupassen. Verändert
wird die Einstellung im aktuellen Makro für den z. Zt. selektierten
Papierweg (TRAKTOR V für den Traktor, MANUELL V für die
manuelle Papierzuführung.
Der von dieser Einstellung abgedeckte Bereich beträgt - / bis

Werte erreicht man mit den Tasten [AUF] oder [AB].
Empfehlenswert ist die Einstellung von VERT.POS.JUST. vor dem
Beginn eines Ausdruckes.
Die Parameter werden mit der Taste [RECHTS] selektiert und sind
damit ein Teil der Druckerkonfiguration. Es ist empfehlenswert, die
gewählte Einstellung in einem Makro zu sichern (siehe Seite 25).

[EINZUG / AUSWURF]

Nach Betätigung der Einzug- oder Auswurftaste wird Endlospapier
aus der Parkposition in die Druckposition oder aus der Druckposition
zur Abreißposition geschoben. Nach dem Abreißen wird bei einem
folgenden Druckauftrag das Endlospapier auf die erste zu
bedruckende Zeile zurückgeschoben.

Farbband einlegen

S Schalten Sie den Drucker am Netzschalter EIN.
S Den Drucker durch betätigen der [START/STOP] Taste in den STOP Modus

setzen.

S Obere Abdeckung öffnen. Der Druckkopf fährt in die richtige Position.
S Das Farbband durch Drehen des Knopfes in Uhrzeigerrichtung straffen.

Schieben Sie die grüne Bandführung in die auf dem Kunststoffgehäuse
gezeigte Position (siehe Abbildung).

S Die Farbbandkassette mit dem Farbband nach unten in den Drucker führen.

Danach die oberen Montagestifte der Kassette auf den oberen Teil der
grünen Farbbandhalterung legen. In dieser Position berührt die grüne
Farbbandführung die grüne Kunststoffklemme.

S Anschließend die Kassette auf sich zu bewegen, bis sie an beiden Seiten

hörbar einrastet. Jetzt schwenken Sie das Farbband unter den Druckkopf bis
die unteren Haltestifte ebenfalls hörbar einrasten.

Hinweis: Wenn die Farbbandkassette richtig eingesetzt ist, sitzt sie leicht

schräg im Drucker.

S Durch Hin- und Herziehen des Druckkopfes das Farbband in die richtige

Position bringen.

S Das Farbband durch Drehen des Knopfes in Uhrzeigerrichtung glattziehen.
S Die obere Abdeckung wieder schließen und [START/STOP] drücken.

S Der Drucker muß leicht über die Vorderkante des Tisches oder des Drucker-

tisches hinausragen. Stellen Sie sicher, daß der Weg der Papierausgabe
nicht durch Kabel an der Rückseite des Druckers behindert wird.

Hinweis: (nur für Drucker CI - 4040) Wenn die Handeingabe (Option) benutzt

wird, diese gegen den Widerstand anheben und nach vorne
herausnehmen.

Hinweis: (nur für Drucker CI - 4050) Die Handeingabe vorne an beiden Seiten

festhalten, gegen den Widerstand nach oben ziehen und nach vorne
herausnehmen.

S Den rechten Traktor ungefähr auf die Breite des Papiers einstellen und die

Papierstützen in gleichmäßigem Abstand verteilen.

S Die Traktorklappen (1) öffnen und das Papier einlegen.
S Traktorklappen schliessen.
S Den rechten Traktor etwas nach rechts schieben, um die obere Kante des

Endlospapiers zu spannen, aber nicht zu straff.

S Die grünen Fixierhebel wieder zurückstellen, um die Traktoren zu arretieren.

Für den Einzug von Einzelblättern oder einzelnen Formularsätzen gibt es als
Option die manuelle Handeingabe.
S Die manuelle Handeingabe (1) von vorne über die Traktoren einschieben und

nach unten drücken.

S Die Schraube (2) der linken Papierführung (3) lösen, auf die Position des

linken Randes einstellen und mit der Schraube (2) fixieren.

Hinweis: Wenn sich nach Änderung der Papierquelle noch Endlospapier im

Druckbereich befindet, wird es vorgeschoben und die Meldung
PAP. ABREISSEN wird angezeigt.

Der Drucker kann mit bis zu drei ASF-Kassetten (Automatic Sheet Feeder) für
die automatische Papierzuführung bestückt werden:

Schreibwalze

Die Schreibwalze ist eine schwere Walze mit einer gummierten Oberfläche. Sie
wird unter dem Papier für den Gegendruck für die Nadeln des Druckkopfes
benötigt.

Makros

Die CI - 4040 oder CI - 4050 Makros sind durch den Anwender definierte
Einstellungen (wie: Papierlänge, Font, Zeichenabstand.). Diese Einstellungen
werden in Gruppen (Makro 1 bis Makro 4) zusammengefasst. Alle vier Makros
können durch den Anwender über das Bedienfeld oder durch die Software mit
einen Befehl aktiviert werden (siehe Benutzerhandbuch auf der CD-ROM).
Die Fabrikeinstellungen aller vier Makros sind auf den vorherigen Seiten
beschrieben.

Makro-Konfiguration

Mit der Menüfunktion MAKRO AUSWAHL wird ein Makro aktiviert und durch
AENDERN MAKRO können alle Einstellungen verändert werden. Auch hier ist

eine Änderung durch den Anwender über das Bedienfeld oder durch die
Software mit einen Befehl im aktuellen Makro möglich. Ein Stern (’) nach der
dem Makro folgenden Ziffer zeigt das aktuelle Makro an. Nach dem Einschalten
des Druckers wird das zuletzt gesicherte Makro aktiv. Das bedeutet, wenn in
einem Makro einige Werte verändert werden, so muß das Makro auch gesichert
werden (siehe Seite 26).
Das folgende Beispiel zeigt wie Makro 4 ausgewählt wird und der Font in
Makro 4 von DATA in Letter Gothic verändert wird:

Die vier Makros können direkt im BEREIT Modus ausgewählt werden. Diese
Funktion ist nur für einen schnellen Zugriff auf ein Makro gedacht (z.B. für eine
spezielle Anwendung). Änderungen sind auf diesem Wege nicht möglich. Das
selektierte Makro kann natürlich gesichert werden (siehe Seite 26).

Vertikale Positionierung

Mit dieser Funktion erreicht man den direkten Einsprung in den Menü Modus,
um die vertikale Positionierung anzupassen. Verändert wird die Einstellung im
aktuellen Makro für den z. Zt. selektierten Papierweg. Mit TRAKTOR V (Traktor)
oder MANUELL V (manuelle Papierzuführung) und nur für den Drucker
CI - 4050 BIN x V-POS (x = 1 bis 3).

Endlosverschiebung mit der Taste ("Handradfunktion")

Endlosformulare können mit dieser Funktion manuell verschoben werden, wenn
sie sich an der Parkposition befinden oder bereits Daten im Puffer sind bzw. ein
Formular teilweise bedruckt ist. Die Endlospapier Verschiebung kann nur im
BEREIT oder AKTIV Modus aktiviert werden.
Nach Betätigung der Taste erscheint im Anzeigefeld die Meldung ENDLOS
JUST. mit dem Wert 0, der Drucker hält einen evtl. laufenden Ausdruck an und
wechselt in den STOP Modus.

und direkt an den entsprechenden Menüpunkt springen. Danach
können die Tasten der oberen Reihe nur noch zur Bewegung im Menü benutzt
werden (siehe auch Menüsruktur (seite 35).
