INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing General Tools & Instruments’ (General’s) TS02 ToolSmart
Digital Angle Finder (DAF). Please read this user’s manual carefully and thoroughly
before using the instrument.
The DAF can be used as a standalone instrument, or with General’s free ToolSmart
app running on your phone. When used in concert with an iPhone®or Android
™
smartphone, the DMM can stream—via Bluetooth®— to the phone all
measurements it makes. The phone initiates the data transfer using the ToolSmart
app, which can be downloaded from the iTunes®App Store or Google Play Store.
The measurements can then be used to tag photos taken by the phone’s camera.
For example, the app can apply angle measurements of structures to blueprints
developed as part of a home renovation project.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALL BATTERY
To open the battery compartment, place the tips of your thumbs or your thumbnails
on the ridged areas of the battery compartment cover (see figure on facing page).
Turn the cover in the direction of the
rotating counterclockwise by about 15º. After rotating the cover that amount, tilt the
DAF and let gravity help dislodge the cover.
Install the included CR2032 battery in the compartment anode (+ side) up. Press
firmly until it snaps into the socket.
Replace the battery compartment cover and turn it in the direction of the
arrow until the printing on the cover is horizontal.
Replace the battery when the readout flashes, grows dim or disappears.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
To measure an angle

In practice, the height of the DAF prevents it from measuring angles less than 13º.

your phone by activating Bluetooth on your phone and pressing the button on the
DAF.

overlay them on photos of your project taken by the phone’s camera.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
General warrants its instruments and accessories, and digital tools products against
defects in material or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase unless
otherwise stated on the packaging, manual, and/or marketing materials. General
also warrants its non-digital tools products against defects in material or
workmanship on a limited lifetime term.
General will replace or repair the defective unit, at its option, subject to verification
of the defect.
This warranty does not apply to defects resulting from abuse, neglect, accident,
unauthorized repair, alteration, or unreasonable use of the product. It also does not
cover products purchased from unauthorized distributors. A proof of purchase must
accompany each warranty claim.

INSTRUCCIONES DE PREPARACIÓN
INSTALACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA
Para abrir el compartimiento de la batería, coloque las puntas o las uñas de sus
pulgares en las zonas estriadas de la tapa del compartimiento de la batería (ver la
figura de la página opuesta). Gire la tapa en el sentido de la flecha de
tapa se aflojará luego de girar unos 15º en sentido contra horario. Luego de rotar la
cubierta, incline el DAF y deje que la gravedad le ayude a remover la tapa.
Instale la batería CR2032 incluida en el compartimiento, con el ánodo (lado +) hacia
arriba. Presiónela firmemente hasta que se trabe en su lugar.
Vuelva a colocar la tapa del compartimiento de la batería y gírela en el sentido de la
flecha de

hasta que las impresiones de la tapa queden horizontales.
Reemplace la batería cuando la lectura parpadee, se vuelve tenue o desaparece.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Para medir un ángulo, comience presionando el botón de ON/OFF para encender el
DAF. Luego pliegue el brazo de medición contra el brazo de la base y presione el botón
de ZERO para hacer cero el ángulo entre los brazos. La pantalla mostrará 000.0º.
Coloque la parte inferior del brazo base del DAF contra un lado de la estructura en la
que quiere medir el ángulo, y la parte superior del brazo de medición del DAF contra el
otro lado. La pantalla mostrará el ángulo entre los dos lados.
En la práctica, la altura del DAF hace que no pueda medir ángulos de menos de 13º.

Para usar el DAF con su teléfono, comience descargando la aplicación ToolSmart
del
iTunes Store o Google Play Store e instalándola. Luego, acople el DAF y su teléfono
activando Bluetooth en su teléfono y presionando el botón en el DAF.
Una demostración en la aplicación explica cómo almacenar mediciones del DAF en su
teléfono y colocarlas sobre fotos de su proyecto tomadas con la cámara de su
teléfono.

reparaciones no autorizadas, alteraciones o uso inadecuado del producto. Tampoco
cubre a los productos que se hayan comprado en distribuidores no autorizados. Cada
reclamo de garantía deberá estar acompañado por un comprobante de compra.
