GE has kept pace with America’s growing appetite for stainless steel appliances by introducing seven new side-by-side refrigerators
in the prestigious GE Profile Performance™Series. Four of the new models are brilliant examples of GE’s space-enhancing
side-by-side design (the key difference between them is capacity: 22, 25 or 28 cu. ft.). The remaining three models feature GE’s
innovative built-in style design. With these new models, no trim kits or slide-in panels are required. The stainless steel doors are
actually manufactured with rounded edges. The result is a finely-crafted, sleeker, cleaner appearance. Lately, more and more
design conscious people are discovering that incorporating stainless steel into their kitchen decor doesn’t have to be an “all or

A BIG REFRIGERATOR WITH A LITTLE REFRIGERATOR OUTSIDE.
GE invented the Refreshment Center back in 1979, and we’ve continued to refine
the design. For example, we’ve made it so it’s very easy to clean. The one thing
we’ve learned about this unique feature is this: “People love it!.” It’s so convenient.
It provides easy-access to your favorite foods and beverages—without opening the
refrigerator door! It’s perfect when you’re entertaining—it gives you extra counter
space. It’s also handy when setting out snacks for the kids. And don’t worry, it’s
quite sturdy. Another advantage is that you save energy by opening the small door
instead of the entire refrigerator door.
This is what the Refreshment Center looks
like on the inside. Note that it’s sealed to
keep the cold air in and the hot air out.

The real story behind this refrigerator is that it holds more food in virtually the same
floor space as many 27 cu. ft. models. That’s because GE’s break-through design put
the extra room where you need it—on the inside, not the outside. The highperformance Smart Storage System keeps food fresher up to 7 days longer (compared
to GE refrigerators without the Smart Storage System). This system features two
adjustable humidity crispers and a convertible meat keeper with cold control. The
Profile Performance 30 is available with “Water by Culligan™” and the Refreshment
Center. And like all of today’s GE refrigerators, the Profile Performance 30 uses
about 50% as much energy than refrigerator models made in 1980.

If you don’t like the way refrigerators extend several inches beyond the counter, the
GE Profile Performance™and GE Profile™“Built-In Style” refrigerators are what you've been
looking for. They can actually save up to 6" of floor space. There are two basic designs to
choose from: (1) Contemporary Built-In – with factory-installed trim kit, uses standard or
custom panels to blend in with your kitchen cabinets and overall decor, (2) Traditional
Free-Standing – trim kit is optional, comes in classic white on white, sleek black on black,
traditional almond on almond and now stainless steel. All of these refrigerators are
free-standing, and slide right into place. The great thing is, you can have the built-in look
without the built-in expense.
