WATERHEATERSAFETY
Under certain conditions hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been
used for two weeks or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE.
If tile hot water has not been used for two weeks or more, prevent tile possibility of damage or ix_jury b)' tm'ning on all hot water fimcets and allow them to rim for several minutes. Do this
belore using any electrical appliance which is cmmected to the hot water system. This simple procedm'e will allow any built-u I) hydrogen gas to escape. Since the gas is flammable, do not
smoke or use [ixl open flame or appliance dtxx'ixlg this process.
Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this Owner's Manual.
PROPERINSTALLATIONANDMAINTENANCE
This dishwasher must be properly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instructions before it is used. If you did not receive an Installation Instructions sheet with your dishwasher, you can receive one by visiting our Website at GEAppfiances.com.
Connect to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system; or mn an equipment-
grotmding conductor with tile circuit conductors and connect to the equipment-
grotmding terminal or lead of the appliance.
hnproper connection of the equipment- grotmding conductor can result in a risk
of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service representative if w)u
are in doubt whether the appliance is properly grotmded.
Use supply conductors rated at least 75°(7
(167°F).
Dispose of discarded appliances and shii)ping or packing material properly.

Use only powder; tabs, liquid detergents or rinse agents recommended for use in a
dishwasher and keep them out of the reach of children. Cascade':, Cascade Complete':
and Electrasol ':Automatic Dishwashing Detergents, and Jet-Dry _ rinse agent have
been approved for use in all GE dishwashers.
Using a deteroent_ that is not specifically designed tor dishwashers

switch, insure that the "l" switch is on prior to use.
If)ou choose to mrn the switch off between wash cycles, allow 5-10
seconds after turning the switch on before touching the START/RESETpad to allow the
control to boot.
