The moisturethatyour air condi­tioner removesfromthe air drains to the rearofthe cabinetwhere it
is pickedupbyafananddispersed againstthe condenser.Occasion­ally,more likely duringstati up,a “pinging” noisemaybeheard.Thisis normalforashorttimeinlesshumid areasand longer invery humid areas.Thismethodof moisture removalimprovestheoperational efficiencyof your airconditioner.
Note:Beforemovingyouraircondi­tioner to another location,turn it off andwait5 or 10minutes.This will allowthe condensateto drain fromthecoil intothebasepan.Then, keepinga firm grip ontheaircondi- _ tioner,carefully raisethe window andtilt the air conditionerto the outsideto drainthewaterfrom the
basepan.
