The rotary control marked THERMOSTAT is the automatically control of the indoor air. The higher the number selected the cooler the indoor air will be. SAVE ENERGY RANGE The save energy range allows you to conserveenergy by selecting a higher room temperature.
The rotary control marked VENT! LATE is the vent door control. When in the closed position only the air inside the room can be circulated and conditioned. When the control is in the open position someoutside air is brought into the room.
The slide switch marked ENERGY SAVER controls the fan operation. With the ENERGY SAVER in the NORM position the fan
will continuously circulate room air. In the SAVE position the fan will automatically cycle on and off with the compressorto provide the most economical operation.

Because of potentiai safety hazards under certain conditions, we strongly recommend against the use of an adapter plug. However,if you stiii elect to use an adapter, where iocal codes permit, a TEMPORARY CONNECTION may be made to a properiy grounded two-prong wali receptacle by the use of a UL listed adapter which is available at most local hardware stores (Fig. 2). The larger

slot in the adapter must be alignec~ with the larger slot in the receptacle to provide proper polarity in the connection of the power cord.
CAUTION: .Attaching the adapter ground terminal to the wall receptacle cover screw does not ground the appliance unless the cctier screw is metal, and not insulated, dnd the wall receptacle is grounded through the house wiring. The customer should have the circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the receptacle is properly grounded.
When disconnecting the powercord from the adapter, always hold the adapter with one hand. If this is not done, the adapter ground terminal is very likely
to break with repeated use. Shou Id this happen, DO NOT USE the a~~liance
until a proper ground hasagain been established.
B. USAGE SITUATIONS WHERE APPLIANCE’S POWER CORD WiLL BE
DiSCONNECTED FREQUENTLY.
Do not use an adapter plug in these situations becausefrequent disconnecting of the power cord places undue strain on the adapter and leads to eventual failure of the adapter ground terminal. The customer shouid have the twoprong wali receptacle repiaced with a three-prong (grounding) receptacle by a quaiified electrician befdre using the appiiance.
USE OF EXTENSION CORDS
Because of potentiai safety hazards under certain conditions we strongiy recommend against the use of an extension cord. However, if you still eiect to use an extension cord, it is absolutely necessary that it be a UL listed 3-wire grounding type appiiance extension cord and the current carrying rating of the cord in amperes be equai to or greater than the branch circuit size shown on the rating nameplate of this appliance. Such extension cords are obtainable through your iocal service organization.

When the compressor cycles on and off a metallic sound may be heard. This should be considered normai.
WATER DRIPPING OUTSIDE
Air conditioner must be instalied ievel or tiited siightiy to the outside for proper water disposai. On exceptionally hot and hum-
id days the air conditioner may permit excess water to pass thru the rear drain tube
or overflow. This shouid be
considered normai.
FAN RUNS CONTINUOUSLY When the selector is in the cooi or fan position, the fan wili run continuously. When the selector is position, the fan will cycie on and off with the compressor.
The moisture that this unit re-
moves from the indoor air drains to the rear of the cabinet where it is picked up by a fan and dispersed against the outdoor corrdensercoil. This is normai for a short period in iesshumid areas and ionger in very humid areas. This method of moisture removai improves the operational efficiency of your air conditioner.
