GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The traditional decorative post top luminaire designated
_______ (identify) shall be a GE STREETDREAMS™ GALLIMORE
luminaire, ordering number _______ (specify GAX plus ordering
number logic from catalog) or approved equal, to operate
one _______ (specify [50, 70, 100, 150 (55V), or 250] watt high
pressure sodium [HPS] or [50, 70, 100, 175 or 250] watt metal
halide) lamp from a nominal _______ (specify 120, 208, 240,
277, 347, 120X347, or 480) volt , 50/60Hz power source and
shall be capable of starting and operating the specified lamp
within the limits specified by the lamp manufacturer. The
luminaire shall include a completely prewired integral ballast
and an ornamental borosilicate prismatic glass globe that
shall provide a(n) _______ (specify symmetric or asymmetric)
light distribution. It shall be UL/cUL Listed SUITABLE FOR WET
LOCATIONS.
MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
The luminaire shall include an ornamental borosilicate
prismatic glass globe, socket, ballast, and ornamental
____________ (specify black, forest green, dark bronze, or
custom RAL color) painted heavy gauge cast aluminum fitter to
a 3 inch OD tenon. An internal twist lock photoelectric control
receptacle mounted within a cast aluminum door is available.
GALLIMORE
OPTICAL ASSEMBLY
The optical assembly shall have an ornamental, borosilicate
prismatic glass globe and shall include a ________(specify
mogul or medium) socket with superior lamp gripping. The
socket shall have added insulation, giving it the ability to
handle higher pulse ratings of newer HID systems.
The luminaire shall include a removable ballast which contains
ballast , capacitor and starting aid (HPS).
BALLAST OPERATION
The luminaire shall have a ____________(specify) ballast*. The
plug-in type ignitor (for HPS only) and ballast shall be prewired
to the lamp socket requiring connection of power supply leads
only. The ballast shall be in full compliance with lamp-ballast
specifications available to the fixture manufacturer from the
lamp manufacturers at time of fixture manufacture.
The ballast shall reliable start and operate the lamp in ambient
temperatures down to –20oF for mercury or metal halide or
–40oF for HPS.
