Hook switch. The par t of the base that pops up to activate the phone line
when th e hands et is lif ted fro m the bas e. Off-hoo k. A term used t o describe t he phone in its ac tive mode ; when the hands et is off t he base c radle o r when th e SPEA KER but ton is pre ssed.

INSTAL LING TH E PHONE
Your pho ne shou ld be pla ced on a lev el surf ace, su ch as a des k or table t op, or you c an moun t it on a wall .

1. If the telephone line cord is connec ted, disconnect it from the base unit .
2. Care fully tu rn the ph one over the battery compart ment by pushing on the battery cover a nd slidi ng it awa y from the u nit.
3. Inse rt 3 AA-s ize alka line ba tteri es (not in clude d) as sho wn on the di agram in t he batt ery com partm ent.
4. Snap t he batte ry comp artme nt door b ack into pl ace.
5. If the l ine cord w as previ ously c onnec ted, reatt ach it to th e unit an d check yo ur memor y locat ions.

WALL MOUNTING: The kno b is designed to keep this unit in place when the tele phone is vertical on the wall .
2. Install the base unit to the wall and then plug one end of line cord into the junction box and the other end into the modular telephone line jack marked .
3. Fix the telephone in the wall as shown in the following layout.
