Your Telephone is designed to give you flexibility in use, and high quality performance, To get the most from you new telephone, we suggest that you take a few minutes right now to read through this instruction manual. If you have any questions or problems, consult the Troubleshooting Guide for the solution.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Make sure your package includes the items:
Base Corded Handset
Telephone Line Cord Handset Coiled Cord
1. Plug the coiled cord into the corded handset and the base.
2. Plug the telephone line cord into the modular jack and into the TEL. LINE jack on the back of the base.
3.Lift up the handset and then put down the handset on the cradle.
NOTE: The phone automatically defaults to touch-tone dialing. To change to pulse (rotary) dialing, see "Tone/Pulse Dialing". If you don't know which type of service you have, check with the phone company.

SET UP
TONE/PULSE DIALING SELECTION
Move T/P switch in the bottom to set dialing mode. (T: tone or P: pulse.) Under pulse dialing mode, press * button to get tone dial­ing mode temporarily.
NOTE: The phone is shipped in Tone Dialing Mode from the manufacturer.
FLASH TIME SETTING
Move FLASH switch in the bottom to set FLASH timing. (100ms/300ms/600ms.)(Default at 600ms)
RINGER LEVEL SETTING
There are total 3 ring levels. (HI/MID/LO) Move ring volume switch in the back of the base to set Ringer level.(Default at HI)
SPEAKER VOLUME CONTROL
There are total 3 speaker volume levels. (HI/MID/LO) you can adjust the volume of the speaker by using the Speaker Volume Control at the side of the base unit. (Default at HI)
PHONE BASICS
IN USE INDICATOR
The IN USE indicator will light up when the phone is on the line.
SPEAKER INDICATOR
The SPEAKER indicator will light up when the speaker is activated.
FUNCTION KEY AND SWITCH
MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS
You need an RJ11 type modular phone jack, which is the most common type of phone jack. If you dont have a modular jack, call your local phone company to find out how to get one installed.

STORING A NUMBER IN MEMORY DIRECT MEMORIES
To store a number in M1-M3.
1. Pick up the handset, press STORE button.
2. Use the number keypad to enter the telephone number you want to store (up to 16 digits).
3. Press STORE button again.
4. Press a ONE-TOUCH MEMORY button(M1-M3).
5. Put back handset on cradle.
To dial a number stored in M1-M3.
1. Press SPEAKER button or pick up the handset.
2. Press a ONE-TOUCH MEMORY button(M1-M3)
TWO TOUCH MEMORIES
To store a number in a Two-touch memory(0-9)
1. Pick up the handset and press the STORE button;
2. Key in the telephone number to be stored.
3. Press the STORE button;
4. Using the dialing keypad, press any button between 0­9 to enter the memory location.
5. Put back handset on cradle.
To dial a number stored in Two-touch memory (0-9)
1. Pick up the handset or press speakerphone button;
2. Press the DIALbutton.
3. Key in the memory location number(0-9);
4. The number will be dialed.
CHANGING A STORED NUMBER
Use the same procedure to change a stored number as you store a number the youre just replacing the phone number with a different one. The new number replaces the old number at the memory location.
GENERAL PRODUCT CARE
To keep your telephone working and looking good, follow these guidelines:
DO NOT expose to direct sunlight or moisture. Avoid dropping and other rough treatment to the phone. Clean with a soft cloth. Never use a strong cleaning agent or abrasive powder because this will damage the finish. Retain the original packaging in case you need to ship the phone at a later date.

Problem Solution
No dial tone Check installation:
Is the telephone line cord connected to the base unit and the wall jack? Disconnect the base from the wall jack and connect another phone to the same jack. If there is no dial tone in the second phone, the prob­lem might be your wiring or local
service. Dial tone is OK, Make sure the tone/pulse setting but can't dial out is correct. Does not ring Try to set the Ringer to a higher level.
You may have too many extension
phones on your line. Try unplugging
some phones.
See solutions for No dial tone.
MEMORY DIALING
Did you program the memory location keys correctly? Did you follow proper dialing sequence? Make sure the tone/pulse setting is correct.

RECEIVING A CALL
1. Press the SPEAKER button or pick up the handset to answer the phone.
2. Press the SPEAKER button again or put the handset on cradle to hang up.
MAKING A CALL
To make a call, press the SPEAKER button or pick up the handset before you dial and press SPEAKER button again or put the handset on cradle to hang up.
REDIAL
To repeat a call to the last number you dialled(up to 32 digit)
1. Press "SPEAKER" button or pick up the handset to get a dialling tone.
2. Press "REDIAL" button to dial the last number redial.
PAUSE
Press the PAUSE button when you dial the telephone number, duing the phone dialing the phone shall pause for 2-4 second.
FLASH
Use the FLASH button to activate custom calling services such as call transfer, which are available through your local telephone company. Dont use SPEAKER button to activate custom calling services, or youll hang up the phone.
MUTE
To prevent the person you are speaking from hearing you while on a call. Press and hold MUTE button.
VISUAL MESSAGE WAITING INDICATOR
When you connect the phone to an Alcatel PABX, the VMWI will blink if there has a message in the centralized voice mail system. You need to contact your services provider for more details.
MEMORY
The phone has three one-touch memories,M1 to M3 and ten two-touch memories, 0 to 9.Each memory location can have up to 16 digits. You can store part of a number (e.g. the dialling code) in memory, then use a combina­tion of memory and manual dialling, in any order,to make a call.
Warning: If the phone is disconnected from the telephone line, any stored numbers while be lost within
1.5 hour. If you want to change a number stored in a memory, simply store another one over it. please ignore any tones or recorded messages you may hear from the network will you are storing number.
Used equipment must be disposed of in compli­ance with current environmental protection regulations. You should return it to your reseller or dispose of it in an approved recycling centre.
