hours at its previous mode and fan settings.

Hew to set

Press die Delay 1-24hrpad on the unit or on
the remote control. Each touch of the Increase

A/Decrease V pads on file unit or on file
remora conUol will set the diner in 1/2-hem

intetwa/s tmfil the time reaches l0 hom_; then
it will increase in 1-hour inmrva/s. The Sat

light will mrn on while setting.
To review the remaining dine on the Belay

1-24hr time_; press the Delay 1-24hr pad on

the unit or on the remote control. Use the

Increase A/Decrease V pads on the unit or

on the remote control to set a new time if
desired.

Tocancel thetimer, press the Delay #-24hr pad
until the light on the Delay1-24hrpad goes off.

Clean Filter

The "Clean Filter" light will come on to tell you it is
time to change your filter

Oo Not Operate in Freezing Outdoor Conditions

This cool-only air conditioner was not designed for
fleezing outdoor conditions. It must not be used in

fleezing outdoor conditions°

Remote Control

To ensure proper operation, aim file reItlote
control at the signal receiver on the air

conditioner
The remote conuol signN has a range of

up to 20 feet.

CoolMode

Use the Coo/mode at tow, Met/, High or Auto Fan
Speed for cooling. Use the TemperatureIncrease A /

Decrease Y pads to set the desired temperature
between 62°F and 86°F in 1°F increments.

An electronic thermostat is used to maintain the

room mmperamre. The compressor will cycle on
and off to keep the room at the set level of comfort.

Set the them_ostat at a lower number and the indoor
air will become cooler Set the themlostat at a higher

number and the indoor air will become wam_e_:

NOTE:If the air conditioneris offend is then turned on

while set toa Cool setting orif turnedfrom a fan setting
toa Cool setting, it may takeapproximatdg 3 minutes

Cooling Descriptions

For Normal Cooling--Select the Coolmode and

High or Med tim with a middle set temperature.

For Maximum Cooling--Select the Cool mode

ForQuieter and Nighttime Cooling--Select the

Cool mode and lOW fan with a middle set
temperature.

Energy Saver Mode

Controls the tim.
0N--The fan will cycle on and offwith the

compressor This results in wider variations of room
mmpemmre and humidity. Nomm/ly used when the
room is tmoccupied. NOTE: Thefan 1778}/continueto run

forashort timeafter the compressorcyclesoff

Fan Mode

Use file Fan Mode at Low, Med or High fan speed to
provide air circulation and filtering wiflK_ut cooling.
Since fan-only settings do not provide cooling, a
Set mmperamre cannot be enmred. The room
mmperamre will appear in the display.

AutoFanSpeed

Set to Auto tim speed for the fan speed to
automatically set to the speed needed to provide
opfilntltll COHlf()I't settings with the set mmpemmre.

If the room needs more cooling, the fan speed

will automatically increase. If the room needs less

cooling, the fan speed will automatical1) decrease.

Power Outage Recovery Feature

In the case of a power outage or interruption, the
unit will automatically restart in the settings hst

Air Direction

Use file lever to adjust file ah direction left and

Fresh Air Vent Control (onsomemode/s)

The Fresh Air Vent Control allows you to let flesh
air into the room.

To open the vent, pull the tab out to Nlow flesh mr
to circulate into the room.

To close the vent, push the tab in.

Careand cleaning of the air conditioner.

Grille and Case

Turn the air conditioner off and remove the plug To clean, use water and a mild detergent. Do not
flom the wall outlet before cleaning, use bleach or abrasives.

Air Filter

The air filter behind the flont gqille shoukt be
checked and cleaned at least eveQ' 30 days or
more oRen if necessaQ'.

TO romove:

Open the inlet grille by pulling dowmvard on the
robs at the top upper corners of the inlet grille until
the grille is in a 45° position. Remove the filter

Outdoor Coils

should be checked regularly. If they are clogged

How to insert the Batteries in the Remote Control

[_] Remove the battery cover by'sliding it

according to the arrow direction.

[-_ Insert new batteries, making sure that the (+)

and (-) of battery are installed correctly.

_ Reatmch the cover by sliding it back

into position.

possibility of electric shock hazard. If the wall

outlet you plan to use is only a 2-prong outlet,
it is your responsibility to have it replaced with

a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet.

• These instructions are for a standard double-
hung window. You will need to modify them

for other types of windows.

• The air conditioner can be installed without

the accordion panels if needed to fit in a

narrow window. See the window opening
dimensions.

• All supporting parts must be secured

to firm wood, masonry or metal.

• The electrical outlet must be within reach of

the power cord.

• Follow the dimensions in the table and
illustration for your model.

STORM WINDOW REQUIREMENTS

A storm window frame will not allow the air
conditioner to tilt toward the outside, and will

keep it from draining properly.
To adjust for this, attach a piece of wood to

the sill.

Cut the window sash seal to the proper

length. Peel off the backing and attach the

seal to the underside of the window sash.

edge. Center it and close the window
securely behind the top mounting rail.
It should be level or slightly tilted to the
outside. Use a level; about a 1/3 bubble
