~ For most efficient cooling, keep
vent in closed position except when you want to exhaust air, smoke or odors from the room.
~ Don’t let the room get too hot. Whenever possible, turn the unit
on before the room heats up. When heat is “stored up” in walls, furni-
ture, rugs and draperies, your air conditioner takes longer to produce the desired con]fort condition.

Because of potential safety hazards ~~ndercertain conditions, westrongly recomend against the use of an extemion cord. However, if you still elect to use an extension cord, it is absolutely necessary that it be a ~, listed 3-wiregrounding type appliance extension cord and that the current carlying rating of the cord in amperes be equal to or greater than the branch circuit size shown on the rating name plate of

1. Set SELECTOR switch at HIGH COOL.
2. Set TEMPERATURE control at 10.
3eSet AIR EXCHANGER control at “closed” position.
4. Slide ENERGY SAVER switch to “normal.”
Whether controls are set for cooling or fan operation only, setting
the Air Exchanger control at “open” lets room air be exhausted to the outside. This ishelpful in removing stale air, smoke or odors from the room, and permits outdoor airto enter through normal openingsin the house. However, cooling effectiveness is reduced when this control is set at “open;’ so we suggest you don’tkeep it there long–especially in hot, humid weather.
