General Information
The Model 530FB Strobe features two constant-on lamps and a flashing strobe with secondary contacts for auxiliary equip me nt. The str obe is desig n e d for top-of -pol e mount ing, wall mou nting, or surface mounting.
The unit is equipped with a ¾-inch NPT female pipe thread in the base; a pipe nipple or conduit with a corresponding thread should be used for mounting the units. For wall or surface mounting, the GAI-Tronics Model 4115A Mounting Assembly Kit is recommended.
Installation
Wiring
The Model 530FB Strobe is equipped with seven 15­foot conductor leads. Refer to Figure 1. The red (+) and white (–) leads are connected to the 120 V ac power source. The green lead is the ground wire.
The violet (+) an d ora nge (–) l eads are connect ed to the emergency telephone to signal the strobe to flash. The blu e and black leads are provid e d to ac tivate au xiliary equipment.

NOTE: The plastic retaining clip is supplied to secure the lamps during shipment, and can be removed aft er installat ion if desir e d.
1. Connect a 5-amp, 250-volt fuse between the red (120 V ac) lead and the local power source.
2. Connect the white (neutral) lead to the local power source.
3. Connect the green lead to a ground connection.
4. Open the front cover of the emergency telephone to expose the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and locate the terminal block labeled TB-2. (At the side of TB-2, the numerals 1 and 4 indicate the numbering sequence of the terminals.)
5. Bring the violet (+) and orange (–) leads through the entry hole used for the telephone line.
CAUTION
TB-2 is polarity sensit ive. Failure to co nnect the proper wi res to the terminals i ndi ca ted can result in severe damage to the associated emergency telephone.
6. Connect the violet (+) lead to terminal 1 and the orange (–) lead to terminal 2
7. Replace the front cover on the emergency telephone and test the unit by pressing the E button. The strobe is only activated by pressing the E
