General Information
Model 51008-003 and 51008-004 Handset Pressbar Replacement Kits are for use on the following

Remo ving the Old Pressbar
1. Loosen the two screws securing the pressbar. Lift off the plate cover, plunger, curved spring, and
membrane a ssembly. Dis c ard all removed part s.
2. Lift ou t and discard t he switch contact as sembly (rect angular plas tic cup), a nd disc onnec t the b lue and
yellow wires.

Installing the New Pressbar
1. Secure the blue and yellow wires to the terminals in the switch contact assembly. Place the assembly
in the handset. See Figure 1.
2. Place the membrane assembly (copper piece with rubber center) in first, with the solid rubber side up.
3. Install the curved spring. Place the plunger in with the GAI-Tronics logo side up. Place the plate
cover on top.
4. Insert and tighten the Phillips screws.
