Wiring

Model 13350

The r ear enclosure contains a t wo- position terminal block. Field connections are made direct ly on this block. The rear enc l o sure of the loudspeaker a llows v ersat i le placement because it i s fu l ly “reversible” with the front horn enclosure. T he u nit is ship ped assembled for bot tom cable entry. I f top cable entr y is desired, rotate the rear enclosure 180 degrees to move the terminal block to the opposite mounting position. The screws should be installed and tightened to 10 to 14 in-lbs. torque.
The two 3 /4-inch c onduit entries (female) allow speakers to be easily “daisy-chained” without junction boxes. The installer c an terminate to the speaker with rigid conduit, flexib le conduit, or ca ble bushing. A 3/4 - inc h ma le hex socket-type conduit plug is p rovided when only one conduit ent ry is used. When conduit entries ar e clos ed , th e speaker is co mpletel y weath erp roof .
After c onnecting the condu it to t he enclosure, connect the spea ker wire t o the approp riate termina l blocks. Refer to Figu re 2. Then plug the “quic k c onnec t” ter minals from the front sect ion of the spea ker into t he approp riate termina l blocks. Close the spea ker and t i ghten front panel s crews to 16 to 20 in-l bs. torqu e.

Model 13351

The r ear enclosur e contains a s ix-position t erminal bloc k. Field c onnections and wat tage tap changes a re made direct ly on this bl oc k; the block is equipp ed with a wir i ng harnes s tha t connects to the loudspeaker. The rear enclos ure o f the l o udspeak er a llows v ers atile placement bec ause it i s fully “rev ersible” . The uni t is shipped assembled for bottom cable entry. If top cable entry is desired, rotate the rear enclosure 180 degrees to move the terminal blocks to the opposite mounting position. Tighten the screws on the terminal blocks to 10 to 14 in-lbs. torque.
The 3/4-inch conduit entries (female) allow speakers to be easily “dais y- c hained” withou t junct ion boxes. This is particular ly des irable in 70-volt distr ibuted sys tems. T he ins taller ma y terminat e t o the speaker with ri gid c ondu it, flex ible conduit, or cable bushing. A 3/4- inc h ma le hex socket typ e conduit plu g is provided when only one conduit entry is used. O nc e conduit entries are closed the speaker is completely weatherproof.
After c onnecting the condu it to t he enclosure, connect the spea ker wire t o the approp riate termina l blocks. Refer to Figu re 3. Then plu g the connector on the rear enclosur e to the mat ing connector on the front section. Clos e the speaker and tighten the front p anel captive screws to 16 to 20 in-lb s. torque.

The rear enclos ure is c omplet ely reversible wit h the front ass embly, allowing the conduit entries to be positioned at the top or bottom of the sp eaker. Mounting holes are int egral to the rear enclosure, and will not affect t he water tight int egrity of the enclosure.
OTE: If conduit entries a re positioned at the top of the enclosure, a nd hollow 3/4- inc h c onduit is u sed,
N
entries to the enclosu re should be internally plugged using a suita ble sealant to avoid condensa tion within the enclos ure.
