Thank you for purchasing the FLE-444R automatic Multi-line Laser Level kit.

These instructions are intended to explain the quick basics to operating this

equipment. If you need any more information, or the unit requires calibration

Power source:

The FLE-444R is fitted with a high capacity 5,400mAh Lithium-ion (Li-ion)

battery. Ensure it is located securely and NEVER substitute it for a differently

rated Li-ion battery.

Use the supplied Mains Charger to charge the battery in ambient

temperatures above 5 deg C. The charger itself has no LED indicator.

Plug the charger into a 230V socket and connect DC plug into the side

mounted Li-ion battery pack. Note the charging LED:

RED indicator denotes the battery is CHARGING.

GREEN indicator denotes battery is partially CHARGED. Further charging to

reach full capacity is recommended, taking approx 2-4 hrs. Usually 80%

charge capacity in reached in 2hrs. (nb. You cannot “overcharge” the battery.)

The laser cannot be operated without a fitted battery but can be operated

whilst the instrument is being charged.

Important note:

We would recommend that a spare Li-ion battery is kept in the carry case as

a back-up, where 230V mains operated equipment is prohibited on-site.

Positioning the Laser:

Mount the FLE-444R on a generally level, firm surface or a 5/8” threaded

laser accessory eg. a Tripod or a Floor to Ceiling Pillar. You may need to use

the supplied post adapter. To operate correctly, this surface must be within

+/-4 deg of true horizontal.

If the laser alarms (ie. the red beams flash on & off every second), then it is

outside its levelling range.

If possible, re-adjust the laser into range via its adjusting feet or the tripod

legs.

Principle of Operation:

This instrument has a fully automatic, servo motor system to set true level.

IF THE FLE-444R EMITS CONTINUOUS RED LASER LINES, THEN THEY

WILL ALL BE TRUE LEVEL & PLUMB.

This laser can be used Indoors or Outdoors, where it is waterproof to IP33.

Controls:

The laser is powered-up via the ON/OFF button on the keypad. Note the red

LED. Press again to switch OFF.

On initial power-up, the front facing horizontal laser beam will switch on.

A flashing green LED denotes "its finding level" which then changes to a

steady green LED to confirm TRUE LEVEL. Press the "H" button to give 4

beam 360 deg coverage & press again to switch off.

A second button marked "V1" is used to switch two vertical laser plumb lines

ON or OFF and the third button marked "V2", to switch the other two vertical

lines.

Also note, the red down dot beneath the legs. This gives true electronic

plumb between the ceiling cross & the down dot.

Manual Over-ride:

To change to MANUAL leveling, press and hold any of the buttons “H”, “V1” or

“V2” for 5 seconds to over-ride the self leveling mechanism. Cancel – press

OFF.
