Recycling your batte ry

Over time, the batteries that run your mobile computer will begin to hold a charge for a shorter amount of time; this is a natural occurrence for all batteries. When this occurs, you may want to re place the battery with a fresh one*. If you replace it, it is important that you dispose of the old battery properly because batteries contain materials that could cause environmental damage if disposed of improperly.
Fujitsu is very concerned with environ mental protection, and has enlisted the services of the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC)**, a nonprot public service orga nization dedicated to protecting our environment by recycling old batteries at no cost to you.
RBRC has drop-off points at tens of thousands of locations throughout the United States and Canada. To nd the location nearest you, go to "
If there are no convenient RBRC locations near you, you can also go to the EIA Consumer Education Initiative website "
Remember – protecting the environment is a cooperative effort, and you should make every effort to protect it for current and future generations.

ENERGY STAR Compliance

Your Fujitsu system is an ENERGY STAR qualied mobile PC. By choosing a computer with the latest energy-saving technology, you’re helping to preserve our environment f or fut ure generations. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, Natural Resources Canada, and other governments around the world helping us save money while protecting the environment through energy efcient products and practices. With energy costs and global warming top-of-mind for consumers, Fujitsu is committed to offering solutions that help consumers conserve energy and improve the quality of our environment.
Sleep Mode:
You will notice that your computer is initially set so that the display turns off after 15 minutes of user inactivity, and the computer goes into Sleep mode after 20 m inutes of user inactivity. When going into Sleep mode, the computer also reduces the speed of any active Ethernet network links. To “wake” the computer from Sleep mode, pre ss the Suspend/Resume Button.
Energy saving benets:
Fujitsu ENERGY STAR qualied mobile PCs use about half as m uch electricity as standard equipment – saving half in utility costs. But more than that, ENERGY STAR also makes a difference for the environment. Did you know that the average house can be responsible for twice the greenhouse gas emissions as the average ca r? Tha t’s because every time you ip on a light switch, run your dishwasher, or turn on your PC, you use energy, which means more greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. So the more energy we can save through energy efciency, the more we help to reduce greenhouse gases and the risks of global warming.

Wireless LAN Modes Using this Device

Ad Hoc Mode
"Ad Hoc Mode" refers to a wireless network architecture where wireless network connectivity between multiple computers is established without a central wireless network device, typically known as Access Point(s). Connectivity is accomplished using only client devices in a peer-to-peer fashion. That is why Ad Hoc networks are also known as peer-to-peer networks. Ad Hoc networks are an easy and inexpensive method for establishing network connectivity between multiple computers. Ad Hoc mode requires that the SSID, network auth entication, and encryption key settings are identically congured on all computers in the Ad Hoc network.
