Upgrade from SDTV to HDTV
IP-900E works as SD encoder basically, but can
be upgraded to HD encoder by the optional software.
Step-by-step expansion from SD to HD is doable,
so that there is no loss of the equipment investment
in case the surrounding equipment changes.

Low latency is significantly required in the
monitoring system and so on. The IP-900 realizes
less than 400ms latency (low latency mode).

Archiving and File Transfer
Encoded video and audio data can be recorded in
encoder, then downloaded remotely from the
network operation center when needed. Even if
the network is thin, it can transfer Hi-Vision video
slowly.

Description
The Fujitsu IP-900 is an audio/video codec that utilizes advanced MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) encoding to perform real-time
transmission of SDTV and HDTV at low bit rates over IP network. Powerful error correction functions ensure high quality of
service over IP networks by preventing the distortion of decoded images, even when network packet losses occur. With its
compact size and rugged construction, the IP-900 reduces the cost of transmission from remote locations that demand
SDTV and HDTV image quality.
Applying the latest MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) High Profile at Level 4 image processing algorithms, the IP-900 provides best-
of-class video quality for use for Broadcasting over enterprise networks. By utilizing sophisticated MPEG-4 AVC (H.264)
compression algorithms, the streaming bit rate is reduced by more than half compared to MPEG-2 encoding, while still
achieving the same video quality. As a result, HDTV contents can now be transmitted over existing enterprise IP networks.
The IP-900 has an analog video (NTSC/PAL) interface. The existing CCTV camera can be used. It enables the beginning
on little cost. When the camera is replaced to HD camera, just add the HD option software to the IP-900 encoder. Utilizing
the optional internal storage function, the IP-900 can also be used for non real-time file transfers across IP networks.
Encoded data can be stored in the encoder, then downloaded remotely. Data can therefore be transferred even when
network bandwidth is too low to support real-time transmissions.
