hours before connecting it to the power supply.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING
YOUR COOKTOP
®
Know which knob controls each surface heating
unit.
• Use Proper Pan SizemThis appliance is equipped
with one or more surface units of different sizes. Select
utensils having flat bottoms large enough to cover the
surface unit. The use of undersized utensils will expose
a portion of surface heating to direct contact and may
result in ignition of clothing. Proper relationship of
utensil to the surface will also improve efficiency.
- Utensil Handles Should Be Turned Inward
and Should Not Extend Over Adjacent Surface
Units--To reduce the risk of burns, ignition of
flammable materials, and spillage due to unintentiona!
contact with the utensil. The handle of the utensil
should be positioned so that it is turned inward, and
does not extend over adjacent surface unit.
- Do not use Searing Grill on the cooktop--The
Searing grill is not designed for use on the cooktop.
Doing so may result in a fire.
- Never Leave Surface Units Unattended--Boilovers
cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite, or
a pan that has boiled dry may melt.
- Protective Liners--Do not use aluminum foil to line
oven bottom or any other part of the appliance. Only
use aluminum as recommended for baking if used as a
cover placed on the food. Any other used of protective
liners or aluminum foil may result in a risk of electric
shock or fire or a short circuit.
• Glazed Cooking Utensils--Only certain types of glass,
glass/ceramic, ceramic, earthenware, or other glazed
utensils are suitable for cooktop service without breaking
due to the sudden change in temperature. Check the
manufacturer's recommendations for cooktop use.
- Do Not Use Decorative Surface Burner Covers.
If an element is accidentally turned on, the decorative
cover will become hot and possibly melt. Burns will
occur if the hot covers are touched. Damage may also
be done to the cooktop.
Page 5

FOR GLASS COOKTOP ONLY
• Do Not Clean or Operate a Broken Cooktop-- If
cooktop should break, cleaning solutions and spillovers
may penetrate the broken cooktop and create a
risk of electric shock. Contact a qualified technician
immediately.
• Clean Cooktop Glass with Caution-- If a wet
sponge or cloth is used to wipe spills on a hot cooking
area, be careful to avoid a steam burn. Some cleaners
can produce harmful fumes if applied to a hot surface.
• Do not place hot cookware on cold cooktop
glass-- This cold cause glass to break.
• Avoid Scratching the Cooktop Glass with Sharp
Objects.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR
USING YOUR OVEN
• Use Care When Opening Oven Door--Stand to the
side of the appliance when opening the door/drawer of
a hot appliance. Let hot air or steam escape before you
remove or replace food in the oven/drawer.
• Keep Oven Vent Ducts Unobstructed. The oven is
vented at the front above the oven door. Touching the
surfaces in this area when the oven is operating may
cause severe burns. Also, do not place plastic or heat=
sensitive items on or near the oven vent. These items
could melt or ignite.
NEVER cover any slots, holes or passages in
the oven bottom or cover an entire rack with
materials such as aluminum foil. Doing so blocks
air flow through the oven and may cause carbon
monoxide poisoning. Aluminum foil linings may trap
heat, causing a fire hazard.
• Placement of Oven Racks, Always place oven racks
in desired location while appliance iscool. Remove all
utensils from the rack before removing rack. If rack
must be moved while oven is hot, use extreme caution.
Use pot holders and grasp the rack with both hands to
reposition. Do not let pot holders contact the hot oven
element or interior of the oven.
= Do not use a broiler pan without its insert. Broiler
pan and grid allow dripping fat to drain and be kept
away from the high heat of the broiler.
* Do not cover the broiler grid or oven bottom
with aluminum foil. Exposed fat and grease could
ignite.
Do not touch a hot oven light bulb with a damp
cloth. Doing so could cause the bulb to break.
Disconnect the appliance or shut off the power to the
appliance before removing and replacing the bulb.
IIvIPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR
CLEANING YOUR OVEN
• Clean the appliance regularly to keep all parts
free of grease that could catch fire. Exhaust fan
ventilation hoods and grease filters should be kept
clean. Do not allow grease to accumulate. Greasy
deposits in the fan could catch fire. Refer to the hood

Leveling
For good baking results, your range should be level.
Screw type leveling legs are provided at each corner
of the range at the base. Remove the storage drawer
to adjust the leveling legs. (Refer to Storage Drawer
section).
To level the range:
1. Use a 1-1/4" open end key or an adjustable wrench
to equally unscrew the four leveling legs two to three
turns each.
2. Install an oven rack in the center of the oven.
3. Move the range to its final position, then put a spirit
level on the rack to check for levelness. Take two
readings, one with the level placed diagonally first in
one direction, and then the other.
4. Use the 1-1/4" key or wrench to adjust the leveling
legs. Turn each one until the range stands firm
without wobbling.
Night Light Replacement (Some models)
To remove and replace the fluorescent light:
1. Lift up the control panel cover.
2. Place your fingers on the tube at approximately 20.3
cm (8") from each end.
3. To remove, turn the tube 90° then pull it out of its
sockets.
4. To replace the tube, engage the new tube into the
sockets, then rotate and snap the tube in place light
to make it sure it will lit.
Circuit Protection
As a protection against surcharge, a 15 amp, 120 volt
fuse is provided for the electric outlet located on top of
the control panel.
To access the fuse(s) raise the control panel cover. Mod-
els with no electric outlet have no fuse.

Using proper cookware
The size and type of cookware used will influence the
setting needed for best cooking results. Be sure to follow
the recommendations for using proper cookware as
illustrated in Figures 1 & 2.
Cookware should have flat bottoms that make good
contact with the entire surface heating element (Figure
1). Check for flatness by rotating a ruler across the
bottom of the cookware (Figure 2).

Figure 1
Cool{ware material types
The cookware material determines how evenly and quickly
heat is transferred from the surface element to the pan
bottom. The most popular materials available are:
Aluminum- Excellent heat conductor. Some types
of food will cause it to darken (Anodized aluminum
cookware resists staining & pitting). If aluminum pans
slide across the ceramic glass cooktop, they may leave
metal marks which will resemble scratches. Remove
these marks immediately.
Copper- Excellent heat conductor but discolors easily. Nay
leave metal marks on ceramic glass (see Aluminum above).
Stainless steel- Slow heat conductor with uneven cooking
results. :Is durable, easy to clean and resists staining.
Cast iron- A poor heat conductor however will retain
heat very well. Cooks evenly once cooking temperature is
reached. Not recommended for use on ceramic cooktops.
Porcelain-enamel on metal- Heating characteristics
will vary depending on base material. Porcelain-enamel
coating must be smooth to avoid scratching ceramic
cooktops.
Glass- Slow heat conductor. Not recommended for
ceramic cooktop surfaces because it may scratch the
glass.
Figure 2
Page 12

Specialty Pans & Trivets
Wokswith fiat bottoms suitable for use on your cooktop
are available in most cookshop or hardware stores.
Round-bottomed woks (with a support ring that does
not extend beyond the heating element) may also be
used. The metal ring was designed to support the wok
safely when it is filled with large amounts of liquids (soup
making) or fat (frying).
DO NOT use two elements (if the cooktop is not
equipped with bridge element) to heat one large pan
such as a roaster or griddle, or allow cooking utensils
to boil dry. The bottom surface of the pan in either of
these situations could cause discoloring or crazing of
the porcelain enamel range surface, and damage to the
surface elements and/or damage to the drip pans (if
equipped).
Canning Tips & Information
1. Use tested recipes and follow instructions carefully.
Check with your local Cooperative Agricultural
Extension Service or a manufacturer of glass jars for
the latest canning information.
2. Use fiat-bottomed canners only. Heat is spread more
evenly when the bottom surface is fiat.
3. Center canner on the burner grate.
4. Start with hot water and a high heat setting to
reduce the time it takes to bring the water to a boil;
then reduce the heat setting as low as possible to
maintain a constant boil.
5. It is best to can small amounts and light loads.
Wire trivets- Do not use wire trivets. Cookware bottoms
must be in direct contact with the surface elements.
DO NOT use a wok if it is equipped with a metal ring
that extends beyond the surface element. Because
this ring traps heat, the surface element and cooktop
surface could be damaged.
For glass smoothtop models,
only fiat bottomed woks
(without support rings) may
be used.
Canning can generate large amounts of steam. Use
extreme caution to prevent burns. Always raise the lid
to vent steam away from you.
Prevent damage to cooktop and burner grates:
1. Do not use water bath or pressure canners that
extend more than one inch beyond the edge of the
2. Do not leave water bath or pressure canners on
high heat for an extended amount of time.
3. Alternate surface units between each batch to
allow the units and surrounding surfaces to coo!
down. Try to avoid canning on the same burner
unit all day.
Safe canning requires that harmful micro-organisms are
destroyed and the jars are sealed completely. When
canning in a water bath canner, a gentle but steady boil
....must be maintained continuous!yfor the required time- .........

Ceramic Glass Cooktop (model C only)
The ceramic cooktop has radiant surface elements
located below the surface of the glass, The design of
the ceramic cooktop outlines the area of the surface
element underneath. Make sure the diameter of the
pan matches the diameter of the element outline on the
cooktop.
Heat is transferred up through the surface of the cooktop
to the cookware. Only fiat-bottom cookware should
be used. The type and size of cookware, the number
of surface elements in use and their settings are all
factors that will affect the amount of heat that will
spread to areas beyond the surface elements. The areas
surrounding the elements may become hot enough to
cause burns,
The cooktop should not be used as a cutting board or
work surface.
Dropping heavy or hard objects on the cooktop may crack it.
Panswith rough bottoms may scratch the cooktop surface.
Placing foods directly on the smoothtop surface
(without cooking utensil) is not recommended as
difficult cleaning will result and foods may smoke and
cause a potential fire hazard.
Never use the griddle or similar cooking sheet on the
About the Radiant Surface Elements
The element temperature rises gradually and evenly.
As the temperature rises, the element will glow red. To
maintain the selected setting, the element will cycle ON
and OFF. The heating element retains enough heat to
provide a uniform and consistent heat during the OFF
cycle. For efficient cooking, turn OFF the element several
minutes before cooking iscomplete. This will allow
residual heat to complete the cooking process.
Types of the heating elements used
Your cooktop is equipped with radiant surface radiant
elements with different wattage ratings. The ability to
heat food quicker and in larger volumes increases as the
element wattage increases.
Due to the high intensity of heat generated by the
surface elements, the glass surface will turn green
when the element will be turned off. This phenomenon
is normal and the glass will come back to its original
white color after it has completely cooled down. (White
Radiant elements have a limiter that allows the element
to cycle ON and OFF, even at the HTsetting. This
helps to prevent damage to the ceramic smooth top.
Cycling at the HTsetting is normal and can occur if the

SETTING BROIL
This mode is best for meats, fish and poultry up to 1"
thick. Broiling is a method of cooking tender cuts of meat
by direct heat under the broil element of the oven. The
high heat cooks quickly and gives a rich, brown outer ap-
pearance. The BROIL pad controls the Broil feature. An
optional Searing Grill, Broiler Pan and Insert are available
via the enclosed accessories brochure (Figure 1 & 2). The
optional broil pan and broil pan insert used together allow
dripping grease to drain and be kept away from the high
heat of the oven broiler.
Broiling Tips:
-For optimum browning, preheat the broil element for 5
minutes.
-Broil one side until the food is browned; turn and cook
on the second side. Season and serve.
-Always pull the rack out to the "stop" position before
turning or removing food.
-Always use the broiler pan and its cover when broiling.
It allows the dripping grease to be kept away from the
high heat of the broil element (see Figure 1).

SELF-CLEANING
A self-cleaning oven cleans itself with high temperatures
(well above normal cooking temperatures) which
eliminate soils completely or reduces them to a fine
powdered ash you can wipe away with a damp cloth.
Adhere to the following cleaning precautions:
• DO NOT use oven cleaners or oven protective
coatings in or around any part of the oven interior.
DO NOT clean the oven door gasket. The woven
material of the oven door gasket is essential for a
good seal. Care should be taken not to rub, damage
or remove the gasket.
• DO NOT use any cleaning materials on the oven
door gasket. Doing so could cause damage.
• Remove the broiler pan and insert, all utensUs
and ANY ALUNINUN FOIL. These items cannot
withstand high cleaning temperatures and will melt.
• Completely remove ALL OVEN RACKS and
ANY ACCESSORIES. If the oven racks are not
removed, they will lose their special coating
properties and will no longer slide in and out
of the oven cavity effortlessly.
• Remove any excessive spUlovers in the oven
cavity before starting the Self-Cleaning cycle. To
clean, use hot, soapy water and a cloth. Large
spillovers can cause heavy smoke or fire when
ii
subjected to high temperatures. DO NOT allow food
ii
spills with a high sugar or acid content (such as milk,
tomatoes, sauerkraut, fruit juices or pie filling) to
remain on the surface as they may leave a dull spot
even after cleaning.
ii
® Clean any soil from the oven frame, the door liner
outside the oven door gasket and the small area at
ii
the front center of the oven bottom. These areas heat
ii
sufficiently to burn soil on. Clean with soap and water.
What to Expect during Cleaning
While the oven isinoperation, the oven heals to temperatures
much higher than those used in normal cooking. Sounds
of metal expansion and contraction are normal. Odor is
also normal as the food soil is being removed. Smoke may
appear through the oven vent.
If heavy spillovers are not wiped up before cleaning, they
may flame and cause more smoke and odor than usual. This
is normal and safe and should not cause alarm. If available,
use an exhaust fan during the self-cleaning cycle.
To avoid possible burns use care when opening the
oven door after the SelFCleaning cycle. Stand to the
side of the oven when opening the door to allow hot air
or steam to escape.
During the Self-Cleaning cycle, the outside of the range
can become very hot to the touch. DO NOT leave
small children unattended near the appliance.
The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the
fumes given off during the Self-Cleaning cycle of any
range. Move birds to another well-ventilated room.
DO NOT line the oven walls, racks, bottom or any
other part of the range with aluminum foil. Doing
so will destroy heat distribution, produce poor baking
results and cause permanent damage to the oven
interior (aluminum foil will melt to the interior surface
of the oven).
DO NOT force the oven door open. This can damage
the automatic door locking system. Use caution when
opening the door after the Self-Cleaning cycle is
HOT.

been corrected.
Use care when opening the oven door after self-clean-
ing cycle. Stand to the side of the oven when opening
the door to allow hot air or steam to escape.
DO NOT force the oven door open. This can damage
the automatic door locking system. Use caution when
opening the door after the self-cleaning cycle iscom-
pleted. The oven may still be VERY HOT.
FAILURE MODES
All failure modes give a visual and audible alarm. When
display shows F10 (temperature runaway), F30 (oven
sensor circuit fault) or F90 (motor door lock fault), the
electronic oven control has detected a fault condition.
Note that code and push the CLEAR OFF pad to clean
the display and stop the beeping. Reprogram the oven. If
fault recurs, push CLEAR OFF pad, disconnect the ap-
pliance to prevent damage and contact an authorized
servicer.

Porcelain enamel oven Cleaning (model A)
Adhere to the following cleaning precautions:
- Allow the oven to cool before cleaning.
• Wear rubber gloves when cleaning the appliance
manually.
Remove spillovers and heavy soils as soon as pos =
sible. Regular cleanings will reduce the number of
future major cleanings.
Ammonia must be rinsed before operating the
oven. Provide adequate ventilation.
Porcelain has a smooth finish and is a type of glass fused
to metal. Oven cleaners can be used on all interior oven
surfaces.
General Cleaning
Remove soils using hot, soapy water. Do not allow food
spills with a high sugar or acid content (such as milk,
tomatoes, saukerkraut, fruit juices or pie filling) to remain
on the surface as they may cause a dull spot even after
cleaning.
To Remove Heavy Soil
1. Allow a dish of ammonia to sit in the oven overnight
or for several hours with the oven door closed. Clean
softened spots using hot, soapy water. Rinse well with
water and a clean cloth.
2. If soil remains, use a soap=filled scouring pad or a
nonabrasive cleaner. If necessary, use an oven cleaner
following manufacturer's instructions. DO NOT mix
ammonia with other cleaners.
Adhere to the following precautions when
using oven cleaners:
1. DO NOT spray on the electrical controls or switches
because it could cause a short circuit and result in
sparking or fire.
2. DO NOT allow a film from the cleaner to build up on
the temperature sensing bulb located at the top left
rear corner of the oven; it could cause the oven to
heat improperly. Carefully wipe the bulb clean after
each oven cleaning, being careful not to move the
bulb. A change in its position could affect how the
oven bakes. Avoid bending the bulb and capillary
tube.
3. DO NOT spray any cleaner on the oven door trim or
gasket, handles or any exterior surfaces of the range,
wood or painted surfaces. The cleaner can damage
these surfaces.
To Clean the Oven Bottom
Clean using hot, soapy water, a mild abrasive cleanser, a
soap-filled abrasive pad or oven cleaner following oven
cleaner manufacturer's instructions.
DO NOT line the oven walls, bottom, racks or any other
part of the appliance with aluminum foil. Doing so will
destroy heat distribution, produce poor baking results and
cause permanent damage to the oven interior (aluminum
foil will melt to the interior surface of the oven).
Cleaning the Regular Oven
Make sure the oven is cool and that all control knobs are
at OFF position. Cleaning the oven is a lot easier when
the door is removed.
1. Remove the oven door; see under To Remove and
Replace the Oven Door in this Owner's Guide.
2. Empty the oven including the racks.
3. You can wash your broiler pan, grid and racks in the
kitchen sink.
4. Clean oven lining thoroughly with soap and a wet
cloth and wipe with a dry cloth.
To remove burned-on fat on oven walls, moisten soiled
parts with household ammonia, using a wet cloth. Follow
suggested manufacturer's cleaning method. (Do not
remove the oven door when using ammonia.)
Complete cleaning with a
damp cloth and use a fine
steel wool scouring agent if
necessary.
The lower element can
be moved up for cleaning
purposes.
5. Replace racks in the oven.

Before cleaning the surface cooktop, be sure the controls
are turned to OFF and the cooktop is coo!.
DO NOT use commercial oven cleaners on the
exterior surfaces including cooktop and door frame.
Correct and consistent cleaning isessential to maintaining
your porcelain enamel cooktop. If food spills and grease
spatters are not removed, they may burn onto the surface
of the cooktop and cause permanent discoloration,
Daily Cleaning
For normal soil:
1. Allow cooktop surface to coo!.
2. Wipe off spills and spatters using a clean paper towel
or a clean cloth with warm, soapy water.
3. If needed, use a soapy steel wool pad or other mild
household cleaners.
4. Be sure to rinse off the cleaners or the porcelain may
become damaged during future heating.

1. Allow cooktop surface to coo!.
2. Use a soap filledscouring pad with warm water or cover
heavily soiled spots with a solution of dear water and
ammonia. Scour gently. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
3. If any soil remains, apply a few drops of a
recommended cooktop cleaning cream on the spots
and rub gently using a clean damp cloth or scouring
pad. Buff with a dry cloth until all soil and cream are
removed. Frequent cleaning with the cooktop cleaning
cream leaves a protective coating which helps in
preventing scratches and abrasions.
Ceramic glass cooktop cleaning &
maintenance (ModelC only)
Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to
maintaining your Ceramic glass cooktop,
Prior to using your cooktop for the
first time, apply the recommended
CERAMA BRYTE® Cleaning Creme
to the ceramic surface. Clean and
buff with a non abrasive cloth or
pad. This will make cleaning easier
when soiled from cooking. The
special cooktop cleaning cream
leaves a protective finish on the
glass to help prevent scratches and
abrasions.
Sliding aluminum or copper clad
bottom pans on the cooktop can cause metal markings
on the cooktop surface. These marks should be removed
immediately after the cooktop has cooled using the
cooktop cleaning cream. Metal marks can become
permanent if not removed prior to future use.
Cookware (cast iron, metal, ceramic or glass) with rough
bottoms can mark or scratch the cooktop surface. Do
not slide anything metal or glass across the cooktop.
Do not use your cooktop as a cutting board or work
surface in the kitchen. Do not cook foods directly on the
cooktop surface without a pan. Do not drop heavy or
hard objects on the glass cooktop, or they may crack it.

Apply a few drops of CookTop® Cleaning Creme directly
to the cooktop. Use a paper towel or use a non-
abrasive plastic type no-scratch pad to dean the
entire cooktop surface. Make sure the cooktop is cleaned
thoroughly, leaving no residue.
For heavy, burned on soil:
Apply a few drops of CookTop® Cleaning Creme directly
to the soiled area. Rub the soiled area using a non=
abrasive plastic type no=scratch pad, applying pressure
as needed. Do not use the pad you use to clean the
cooktop for any other purpose.
Plastic or foods with a high sugar content:
These types of soils need be removed immediately if
spilled or melted onto the ceramic cooktop surface.
Permanent damage (such as pitting of the cooktop
surface) may occur if not removed immediately, After
turning the surface elements OFF, use a razor blade
scraper or a metal spatula with a mitt and scrape the soil
from the hot surface (as illustrated). Allow the cooktop to
cool, and use the same method for heavy or burned on
soils.
Do not use the following on the ceramic glass
cooktop:
• Do not use abrasive cleaners and scouring pads,
such as metal and some nylon pads, They may
scratch the cooktop, making it more difficult to
clean,
®
Do not use harsh cleaners, such as chlorine
bleach, ammonia or oven cleaners, as they may
etch or discolor the cooktop,
®
Do not use dirty sponges, cloths or paper
towels, as they can leave soil or lint on the
cooktop which can burn and cause Special
Caution for Aluminum Foil and Aluminum
Cooking Utensils
Damage to the ceramic glass cooktop may occur if you
use an abrasive type scratch pad. Only use cleaning
products that have been specifically designed for
ceramic glass cooktop.
If soils remain, carefully scrape soils with a metal razor
blade scraper, holding scraper at a 30 degree angle to the
surface. Remove loosened soils, then apply a few drops
of cleaning cream and buff surface clean.
®
Aluminum foil
Use of aluminum foil will damage the cooktop. Do not
use under any circumstances.
®
Aluminum utensils
Since the melting point of aluminum is much lower
than that of other metals, care must be taken when
aluminum pots or pans are used. Pans that boil dry
may permanently damage cooktop by breaking, fusing
to, or marking it.

with one or more surface units of different sizes. Select
utensils having flat bottoms large enough to cover the
surface unit.
Page 39

Refer to the hood
manufacturer's instructionsfor cleaning.
• Cleaners/Aerosols--Always follow the manufacturer's
recommended directions for use. Be aware that excess
residue from cleaners and aerosols may ignite causing
damage and/or injury.

Not recommended for
ceramic cooktop surfaces because it may scratch the
glass.
Figure 2
Page 46

4. Start with hot water and a high heat setting to
reduce the time it takes to bring the water to a boil;
then reduce the heat setting as low as possible to
maintain a constant boil.

Use caution when
opening the door after the Self-Cleaning cycle is
HOT.

satisfactory results).
To Set the Controls for a Self=Clean Cycle:
1. Be sure the clock shows the correct time of day.
2. Push the CLEAN pad. ". - -" appears in the display.
3. Push the UPARROW pad until "3:00" appears in the
display for a 3 hour cycle, or push the DOWN ARROW
pad until "2:00" appears in the display for a 2 hour
cycle.
4. As soon as the UP or DOWN ARROW pad is released,
"CLn" appears in the display.
5. As soon as the controls are set, the motor driven
lock will begin to dose automatically and the "Door
Locked" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the
door while the light is flashing (it takes about 15
seconds for the lock to close).
6. The "Door Locked" light will glow until the cleaning
cycle iscompleted or cancelled, and the oven
temperature has cooled.
When the Self=Clean Cycle is Completed:
1. The time of day will appear in the display window
and the "Door Locked" light will continue to glow.
2. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 hour and
the "Door Locked" light has gone out, the oven door
can be opened.
Stopping or Interrupting a Self=Cleaning Cycle
If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a self=
cleaning cycle due to excessive smoke or fire:
1. Push the CLEAR OFF pad.
2. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 hour and
the "Door Locked" light has gone out, the oven door
can be opened.
3. Correct the condition which caused the smoking.
4. Restart the self-clean cycle once all conditions have
been corrected.
Use care when opening the oven door after self-clean-
ing cycle. Stand to the side of the oven when opening
the door to allow hot air or steam to escape.
DO NOT force the oven door open. This can damage
the automatic door locking system. Use caution when
opening the door after the self-cleaning cycle iscom-
pleted. The oven may still be VERY HOT.
FAILURE MODES
All failure modes give a visual and audible alarm. When
display shows F10 (temperature runaway), F30 (oven
sensor circuit fault) or F90 (motor door lock fault), the
electronic oven control has detected a fault condition.
Note that code and push the CLEAR OFF pad to clean
the display and stop the beeping. Reprogram the oven. If
fault recurs, push CLEAR OFF pad, disconnect the ap-
pliance to prevent damage and contact an authorized
servicer.

Porcelain enamel oven Cleaning (model A)
Adhere to the following cleaning precautions:
- Allow the oven to cool before cleaning.
• Wear rubber gloves when cleaning the appliance
manually.
Remove spillovers and heavy soils as soon as pos =
sible. Regular cleanings will reduce the number of
future major cleanings.
Ammonia must be rinsed before operating the
oven. Provide adequate ventilation.
Porcelain has a smooth finish and is a type of glass fused
to metal. Oven cleaners can be used on all interior oven
surfaces.
General Cleaning
Remove soils using hot, soapy water. Do not allow food
spills with a high sugar or acid content (such as milk,
tomatoes, saukerkraut, fruit juices or pie filling) to remain
on the surface as they may cause a dull spot even after
cleaning.
To Remove Heavy Soil
1. Allow a dish of ammonia to sit in the oven overnight
or for several hours with the oven door closed. Clean
softened spots using hot, soapy water. Rinse well with
water and a clean cloth.
2. If soil remains, use a soap=filled scouring pad or a
nonabrasive cleaner. If necessary, use an oven cleaner
following manufacturer's instructions. DO NOT mix
ammonia with other cleaners.
Adhere to the following precautions when
using oven cleaners:
1. Remove the oven door; see under To Remove and
Replace the Oven Door in this Owner's Guide.

from the hot surface (as illustrated). Allow the cooktop to
cool, and use the same method for heavy or burned on
soils.
Do not use the following on the ceramic glass
cooktop:
• Do not use abrasive cleaners and scouring pads,
such as metal and some nylon pads, They may
scratch the cooktop, making it more difficult to
clean,
®
Do not use harsh cleaners, such as chlorine
bleach, ammonia or oven cleaners, as they may
etch or discolor the cooktop,
®
Do not use dirty sponges, cloths or paper
towels, as they can leave soil or lint on the
cooktop which can burn and cause Special
Caution for Aluminum Foil and Aluminum
Cooking Utensils
Damage to the ceramic glass cooktop may occur if you
use an abrasive type scratch pad. Only use cleaning
products that have been specifically designed for
ceramic glass cooktop.
If soils remain, carefully scrape soils with a metal razor
blade scraper, holding scraper at a 30 degree angle to the
surface. Remove loosened soils, then apply a few drops
of cleaning cream and buff surface clean.
®
Aluminum foil
Use of aluminum foil will damage the cooktop. Do not
use under any circumstances.
®
Aluminum utensils
Since the melting point of aluminum is much lower
than that of other metals, care must be taken when
aluminum pots or pans are used. Pans that boil dry
may permanently damage cooktop by breaking, fusing
to, or marking it.
