Installation Instructions
HIGH FLOW VENT VALVE KIT, P/N 401868, INCLUDES
QTY PART NO DESCRIPTION
1 103123 Tee, KF25
1 103125 Reducer, KF25 to KF16
1 103124 Vent Valve with KF10 flange
1 100352 Adaptive Centering Ring, KF16/KF10
2 101542 KF25 Centering Rings
2 102121 KF25 Clamps
1 102975 KF16 Clamp
TO INSTALL THE VENT VALVE KIT:
The high flow vacuum vent valve kit is installed between the KF25 vacuum port on the PG7601 and the vacuum isolation valve. It is intended to rapidly vent the vacuum from the bell jar. It replaces the more restrictive PG7600 Vacuum Relief Valve kit (P/N
401050).
n Assemble the hardware as shown in the figure below.
The dashed lines indicate hardware included with the VA-7601-REF vacuum package and on the PG7601.
Use the adaptive centering ring to seal the reducer
with the vent valve. The KF16 clamp is used to secure the valve body (KF10 flange) to the reducer.
The adaptive centering ring is orientation
specific. Make sure that it seats flush with both the reducer and the valve flange.
TO OPERATE THE VENT VALVE:
n To close the valve when establishing a vacuum
under the bell jar, rotate the wing nut clockwise until it is tight.
To open and release applied vacuum, start by slowly
opening the valve to gradually expose the bell jar to atmospheric pressure. Do not release vacuum so quickly that vapor formation is observed under the bell jar.
It is not recommended to use vacuum grease on
the valve body o-ring. If it gets dirty or appears to lose its seal: remove, clean with soap and water and re-install.
