Introduction
The CO-205 Aspirator Kit allows the user to sample the carbon
monoxide (CO) level in the flue of a residential furnace.
The Aspirator Kit works as an extension to the Fluke
CO-210 Carbon Monoxide Probe and the Fluke CO-220
Carbon Monoxide Meter. See Figure 1.

To avoid possible personal injury:
• Do not place the Fluke CO-210 Carbon Monoxide
Probe or the CO-220 Carbon Monoxide Meter against
a flue.
• Do not handle the aspirator probe after removing it
from a flue. Allow the probe to cool before storage.

Using the Aspirator
To use the aspirator:
1. Snap the aspirator cap to the CO-210 or CO-220.
Downstream from the furnace but before any intersections

accommodate the aspirator probe.
3. Insert about half of the aspirator probe into the flue.
Caution: Do not leave the aspirator probe in the flue for
extended periods of time (longer than 1 hour).
4. Turn on the CO-210 or the CO-220. (If the CO-210 is
connected to a meter, turn on and configure the meter.)
5. Squeeze the aspirator bulb 4 to 5 times or until the
CO-210 or CO-220 shows a constant reading.
6. After sampling is complete, plug the sampling hole using
material appropriate for your flue.

Replacing the Filter
The PTFE filter on the aspirator hose can clog with use. A
clogged filter reduces the accuracy of the CO reading by
impeding air flow to the measuring device. Examine the filter
periodically and replace as necessary.
