1 Measure the distance between each of the angle gears. (Measure the
outermost surface of the angle gear housing, sleeve excluded.)
Cut suitable lengths of adjustment shaft to connect the gears. Cutting
distance = L–37 mm. (See drawing below.)
Drill one ∅4 mm hole 19 mm from each end of the shafts. Mount one
spring pin in one hole on each shaft.
Note: For vertical adjustment shafts, the upper spring pin is not neces-
sary. Therefore, only one hole and one spring pin is required.
2 Test mount the shafts. Adjust the angle gear positions if necessary.
The angle discrepancy between angle gear housing and XLFX shaft
must be as small as possible.
Install the adjustments shafts.
Fasten all angle gears permanently.
3 When installing horizontal shafts, insert the second spring pin once
the XLFX shaft has been mounted.
Dismounting angle gear units and adjustment shafts
The new angle gear units are easy to remove and re-install.
If, for instance, an angle gear unit in the middle of the wedge conveyor
needs to be replaced, only the two shafts that are directly in contact with
the angle gear unit need to be removed.
The vertical shafts are simply lifted off the angle gears, while one
spring pin needs to be removed on the horizontal adjustment shafts.
