For best results, we recommend replacing the batteries that came with this toy with three new alkaline batteries.
• Locate the battery compartment on the back of the piano.
• Loosen the screws in the battery compartment door with a Phillips screwdriver. (The screws will remain in the door.)
• Lift to remove the the battery compartment door.
• Insert three ”AA” (LR6) alkaline batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment.
Hint: We recommend using alkaline batteries for longer battery life.
• Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
• Remove the batteries during long periods of non-use. Always remove exhausted batteries from the toy. Battery leakage and corrosion can cause damage. Dispose of batteries safely.
• Never short circuit the battery terminals.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended in the “Battery Replacement” instructions are to be used.
• If removable rechargeable batteries are used, they are only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before they are charged.
• If you use a battery charger, it should be examined regularly for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure and other parts. Do not use a damaged battery charger until it has been properly repaired.
• If sound or lights from this toy become faint or stop working, it’s time for an adult to replace the batteries!

• Press a letter button to hear the letter. “A”.
• Press a number button to hear the number. “2”.
• Press a shape button to hear the color and name
of the shape. “Red heart”.
• Slide an animal up and down the track to hear
the animal’s name and sound. “Cat. Meow meow!”
Hint: Slide an animal up the track (away from you) to raise the animal’s pitch. Slide an animal down the track (toward you) to lower the animal’s pitch.
• Watch the lights flash as you slide the animals up and down the tracks!
• Press a piano key to hear a single note.
Hint: If a piano key is pressed after an animal has been moved up or down the track, the note will be played by the animal’s instrument.
• Press a shape button to hear the animals play one of four friendly songs. To hear more songs, press the shape buttons again and again!
• Slide an animal up or down the track to hear the name of the animal’s instrument and the instrument sound. “Drum. Rat-a-tat-tat.”
Hint: Slide an animal up the track (away from you) to raise the instrument volume. Slide an animal down the track (toward you) to lower the instrument volume.
• Watch the lights flash as the music plays!
NOTE: The phrases and sound effects shown in
bold type are random responses by this toy. This toy may respond differently than shown.
• Animal Quartet Piano has two play modes. To select a play mode, slide the mode switch up for Learning or down for Music .
• To turn the sound off, slide the mode switch to the middle position.
• Locate the volume switch ont he bottom of the toy. Select low volume ( ) or volume ( ).
