99 Series Gas Regulator Vent Assembly

Introduction
99 Series
This parts kit is used to replace the existing vented
closing cap (which was obsoleted) with a new nonvented closing cap.
The parts kit for the Type 99 low-pressure pilot
consists of the following parts:

Avoid personal injury or damage
to property from sudden release of
pressure or uncontrolled gas or other
process uid. Before starting to
disassemble, isolate the pilot or regulator
from all pressure and cautiously release
trapped pressure from the pilot or
regulator. Use gauges to monitor inlet,
loading, and outlet pressures while
releasing these pressures.
To avoid possible personal injury on
a pressure-loaded low-pressure pilot
without handwheel, carefully release
pressure from the spring case by slowly
removing the closing cap. Otherwise
trapped loading pressure could
forcefully eject the freed closing cap.
For the following key number locations, refer to
Figure 1 on the back of this Installation sheet.
Replace the metal closing cap (key 46) with the new
plastic closing cap. Remove the pipe plug (key 60)
and replace it with the new vent assembly.
To remotely vent a low-pressure pilot, remove the
vent assembly from the spring case and install
obstruction-free tubing or piping into the 1/4 NPT
vent tapping. Provide protection on a remote vent
by installing a screened vent cap into the remote
end of the vent pipe.
