FT-MB211-DC Installation Guide
Welcome to the installation guide for the 2003 (build date 07/02-up) to 2007 C Class Mercedes Benz. Please review this manual before installation as there are details that are essential to operation of the vehicle. Please don’t forget to review the installation manual included with the DC unit.
This manual is intended for experienced installers. Firstech recommends professional installation as we are not responsible for improper use and/or installation. For questions please call 888-820-3690 Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm PST.
Required Parts and Tools
T-20 Torx Driver• T-30 Torx Driver• Pick Tool• Panel Removal Tool• Phillips Screwdriver• 3/4” Drill Bit•
Mercedes EIS removal tool (Part Number: 639 589 • 01 07 00) Optional in most installations however makes job much easier. It can be purchased at your local Mercedes dealer.

Instructions
1. Carefully pry up shifter boot using your fingers or the panel tool.
2. Pull upward on the front of the shifter bezel to release clips and remove. The shifter boot will fit through the hole in the bezel and stay attached to the shift lever.
3. Release the clips on the ashtray using the pick tool and remove.
4. Disconnect the cigarette lighter power wire and set the ashtray aside.
5. Rotate the center dash vents upward by prying the stop lever with the pick tool (see photo).
6. Remove (2) T20 screws from the bottom corners of each vent.
7. Rotate the center dash vents downward by prying the stop lever with the pick tool.
8. Using the pick tool, release the retaining clips on the top of each vent opening while pulling outward to remove the vent assembly.
9. Remove (2) T20 screws from the upper switch panel, pull outward and remove the switch panel.
10. Disconnect the wiring harness and set the panel aside.
11. Remove (2) T20 screws from the HVAC panel, pull outward and remove the HVAC.
12. Disconnect the wiring harness and set the panel aside.
13. Remove (4) T20 screws from the radio, (2) top and (2) bottom.
14. Slide the radio out of the dash cavity, disconnect all wiring and set the radio aside.
15. Open the center console lid and empty the contents.
16. Pull up the cover at the bottom of the console cavity and remove (2) 10mm bolts.
17. Remove (2) 10mm bolts from either side of the cup holder just behind the shifter area.
18. Remove (2) T20 screws from the area behind the HVAC panel.
19. Using the T30, turn the cam lock mechanism counter clockwise which connects the center console to the dash.
20. Lift up on the console while sliding it rearward. It only needs to move a few inches to provide proper clearance.
21. Remove (3) T20 screws from the driver’s under dash area and lower the panel.
22. Remove (1) Philips screw from the hood release, disconnect the cable and remove it.
23. Slide the locking mechanism to the side and remove the OBD-II connector from the under dash panel.
24. Slide the CAN distributor to the side releasing it’s clips from the under dash panel.
25. Remove the under dash panel from the vehicle and set it aside.
26. Pry off the driver’s dash end cover.
27. Remove (1) T20 screw from inside the cover holding the bottom of the knee bolster.
28. Pull the parking brake release lever and remove (1) T20 screw holding the headlight switch panel.
29. Release the exposed clip in the opening on the side of the dash and remove the headlight switch panel, disconnect all wiring and set the switch aside
30. Remove (1) T20 from behind the headlight switch holding the top of the knee bolster to the dash.
31. Remove (1) T20 from the lower edge of the knee bolster near the center console.
32. Remove (3) T20 from the right edge of the knee bolster that were covered up by the radio and HVAC panels.

33. Pull downward on the knee bolster to release the clips holding it in then pull it outward to expose the EIS. The EIS is the ignition key switch.
34. If you have the EIS removal tool, you can loosen the retaining ring on the front of the EIS and re move it from the knee bolster panel to give easier access to the plugs on the rear.
35. Unplug the large (5) pin plug and the blue (8) pin plug at the top.
36. Route the T-harness through the dash so the starter module is at the bottom and the plugs are behind the EIS.
37. Plug the T-harness into the EIS and reconnect the factory wiring.
38. Turn on the valet switch.
39. Start the vehicle with the key to verify all connections are correct and confirm there are no errors in the gauge cluster.
40. Shut the vehicle off with the key and test the remote start using your controller.
41. Shut the vehicle off and reassemble.
42. Turn off the valet switch. (Non white dot side)
43. Reinstall the knee bolster and replace the (6) screws that were removed previously.
44. Locate a place to mount the control module in the dash while leaving the valet switch hanging down.
45. Drill a 3/4” hole in the driver’s under dash panel for the valet switch.
46. Mount the valet switch in the panel and put it back in place, plugging the wires back into the switch.
47. Attach the CAN distribution and the OBD-II plug and route the hood release cable through the hole in the under dash.
48. Attach the hood release lever to the cable and mount it using the (1) philips screw.
49. Reinstall the (3) T20 screws to hold the under dash panel in place.
50. Attach the wiring to the headlight switch and reinstall it and its (1) T20.
51. Snap the panel on the end of the dash in place.
52. Slide the console forward and reinstall (4) 10mm, (2) T20, and tighten the (2) T30 cam locks.
53. Reinstall the radio and the (4) T20 that hold it in place
54. Reconnect the wiring to the HVAC panel, snap it in place and reinstall (2) T20 screws.
55. Reconnect the wiring to the switch panel above the radio and reinstall (2) T20 screws.
56. Snap the upper vents back in place and rotate them fully up and tighten (2) T20 screws.
57. Connect the plug for the cigarette lighter and slide it back in place making sure the clips snap into place to hold it.
58. Slide the shifter bezel over the shifter boot and snap it into place
59. Snap the shifter boot into place in the shifter bezel.
