Operating instructions
Connecting to the mains power supply
Before connecting the product to the power outlet ensure that the voltage on the label is the
same as voltage source in your power outlet. It is recommended to connect this machine to
a power socket that is protected by current protection with a release current of 30 mA. Never
hold the power plug with wet hands. The connecting power socket on connecting elements
must be made from rubber, soft PVC or another thermoplastic material of the same strength,
or must be coated with this material.
Used connecting power conductors must have the minimum parameters of a rubber cable
H07RN-F according to DIN 57 282/VDE 0282 and must have a diameter of at least 1.5 mm2.
Power plug connections must have protected contacts and connections protected against
spraying water. Guide the connecting cable through the pull reduction on the guide handle
and insert into the combination switch – power plug. Before use, check that the conductors
are not damaged or not showing signs of material ageing. Never operate the lawnmower
if the electrical lines are not in perfect condition (also applies to lines going to the motor). If
while mowing the lawn the cable is damaged, immediately pull the power plug out of the
mains and only then check the damage.
The extension cable must have the cross section in accordance with the user‘s manual and
must be protected against spraying water. The power plug connection must not lie in water.
If the product‘s power cable is damaged, have an authorised service or qualifi ed person
replace it, in order to prevent hazards. It is forbidden to use a product with a damaged power
cable or plug.
Do not disconnect the power cable from the electric power socket by pulling the cable.
Avoid turning the lawnmower on and off too frequently in a short time period, namely playing
with the switch.
Before stopping the lawnmower, cleaning it, and likewise before performing any inspection,
maintenance or repairs, turn off the lawnmower and disconnect it from the electrical power
source by pulling the cable from the power socket.
The repairs of electrical parts may only be performed by an authorised service centre.
On impact with a foreign object, turn off the motor, pull the cable from the mains, identify the
damage and carry out the necessary repairs. Only then start the lawnmower again and
continue working.
If the device starts to vibrate unusually, immediately pull the plug out of the socket and inspect
the lawnmower.
Do not work in such a way that limits the movement of the extension cable.
Do not place the power cable near hot surfaces, or over sharp objects. Do not place heavy
objects on the power cable. Position the cable so that it will not be stepped on or tripped over.
Make sure the power cable is not touching a hot surface.
Keep the power cable and extension cable a suffi cient distance from the mowing blades.
Danger of electrical shock, always be aware of where the power cable is located.
FZR 2003-E

Operating instructions
The voltage fl uctuations caused by this machine during start-up may during unfavourable
mains conditions cause interference with other devices connected to the same circuit. In
such a case take appropriate measures (e.g. connect the lawnmower to a different circuit or
operate it in circuit with a lower impedance).
Pay attention to necessary extension cables.
If you are not using the product, or if you know that you will not be using it soon, turn it off and
disconnect the power cable from the wall socket. Prior to cleaning, proceed in the same
manner.
Always pull the power plug from the mains, if:
you are leaving the lawnmower,•
the machine starts to vibrate unusually (inspect immediately).•
Electrical safety
The lawnmower can be inserted into any light power socket (with an alternating current
of 230 V). Permissible is, however, only a socket protected by a 10 A protective switch and a
protective switch against false current with max. 30 mA.
Use only undamaged power cables. The cables cannot be of any length (max. 50 m),
otherwise the power of the electrical motor will be reduced. The power cable to the machine
must have a cross section of 3 × 1.5 mm2. The insulation on electric lawnmower cables is
very often damaged.
The causes of this are:
damaged caused by driving over the cable•
compression of the cable when it goes under doors, windows, etc.•
cracks caused by the ageing of the insulation•
broken places caused by unprofessional connections or cable routes.•
Cables damaged in this way are often used despite the fact that they are deadly. Cables,
power plugs and power sockets must meet the following conditions. Electrical cables for
connecting the lawnmower must have rubber insulation.
Electrical cables must be at least type H05RN-F, with 3 conductors The cable must be marked
with a print. So buy only cables labelled with a print. Power plugs and connecting sockets
on electrical cables must be from rubber and protected against spraying water. The cables
must not be of any length. Longer cables require a larger cross section. Regularly inspect
the power and connecting cables for damage. During an inspection power cables must be
disconnected. Fully unwind the power cable. Also inspect broken places on the connecting
cables at the power plug and the connecting power sockets.
The connecting power socket on connecting elements must be made from rubber, soft PVC
or another thermoplastic material of the same strength, or must be coated with this material.

8. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER MOWING
Working procedure
Place the machine as close as possible to the mains power socket. Work in the direction
away from the mains power socket. After every turn place the cable on the opposite, already
mowed side (see pic. 14)
Be especially careful when changing the direction of travel on slopes.
Collector box
Empty the collection box as soon as clippings start to be left on the ground. Before removing
the collection box turn off the motor and wait until the blades come to a stop.
When removing the collection box, use one hand to lift the expulsion opening fl ap and the
other to remove the collection box. According to safety regulations the expulsion opening fl ap
will snap shut the rear expulsion opening when the collection box is removed. If during this,
grass clippings remain in the opening, it is useful to move the lawnmower approximately 1 m
back to make starting the motor easier.
Do not remove grass clippings from the body of the lawnmower by hand or foot, use
appropriate aids such as a brush or sweeper.
To ensure perfect collection of lawn clippings, it is necessary for the collection box to be clean
from the inside.
Only attach the collection box if the motor and blades are still.
Use one hand to lift the expulsion canal fl ap and with the other hand hold the box by the
handle and hang it from above.
9. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Maintenance
Check whether the device is not showing signs of wear.
Only perform maintenance and cleaning of the lawnmower and the removal of protective
devices if the motor is off and the lawnmower is disconnected from the mains.
Taking regular care of the lawnmower ensures not only a long lifetime and performance, but
also helps to make mowing lawns better and easier.
Before use always visually inspect whether the mowing blades, fastening pins and also
the entire mowing unit are worn or damaged. To ensure that the lawnmower always remains
balanced, always replace the entire set of the worn or damaged mowing tools.
All nuts, pins and screws must be fi rmly tightened and the entire device must be in safe
working order.
Check that all protective devices are attached and work perfectly.
FZR 2003-E
20EN
Maintenance and storage
Regularly check whether the clippings collection box is showing signs of wear or loss of
function.
Replace damaged or worn parts.
Have worn or damaged blades, blade holders and pins replaced as sets at an authorised
service centre so that the balance of the lawnmower is maintained.
Damaged parts of the machine may only be replaced by a professional using original spare
parts.
Never use accessories that have not been delivered with this product or are not intended for it.
Before cleaning disconnect this product from the power source.
If possible clean the lawnmower using a brush or a cloth. Do not use solvents or water. The
part susceptible to wear is the blade. Regularly check its condition and fastening. If the blade
is worn, replace it immediately.
If the lawnmower starts to vibrate excessively it means that the blade is not correctly
balanced or it has been deformed by an impact. In such a case it must be replaced or
repaired.
To clean the outer parts of the product, use a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm water. Do not use
aggressive cleaning products and solvents as this could damage the surface of the product.
Do not clean the lawnmower under running water, especially not with pressurised water.
Place the machine on its side and carefully clean out the area around the blades.
Storage
Store the lawnmower in a dry room. To ensure a long lifetime for the lawnmower, regularly
clean and lubricate the wheels, axles and screws.
To save space you can fold down the machine‘s handle, remove and disassemble the
stackable clippings collection box.
Do not place any other items on the machine.
At the end of the season, perform a complete inspection of the lawnmower and remove
accumulated grass clippings.
It is necessary to unconditionally inspect the condition of the blade before the start of each
season.
If a repair is necessary, contact an authorised customer service centre.
