3 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Deltex-Schleifgerät ist ein Gerät zum
Schleifen von Holz, Kunststoff, Metall, Stein,
Verbundwerkstoffen, Farbe/Lack, Füller, Spachtelmasse und ähnliche Werkstoffe. Aufgrund der
dreieckigen Form des Schleifschuhs ist das Gerät besonders geeignet zum Bearbeiten schwer
zugänglicher Ecken, Kanten und Falze.
Entstehen beim Schleifen bestimmter Werkstoffe
explosive oder selbstentzündliche Stäube, so sind
unbedingt die Bearbeitungshinweise des Werkstoffherstellers zu beachten.
Für Schäden und Unfälle bei nicht be-
stimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch haftet
der Benutzer.
4 Sicherheitshinweise
4.1 Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
Warnung! Lesen Sie sämtliche Sicherheitshinweise und Anweisungen. Fehler
bei der Einhaltung der Warnhinweise und
Anweisungen können elektrischen Schlag, Brand
und/oder schwere Verletzungen verursachen.
Bewahren Sie alle Sicherheitshinweise und Anweisungen für die Zukunft auf.
Der in den Sicherheitshinweisen verwendete
Begriff „Elektrowerkzeug“ bezieht sich auf netzbetriebene Elektrowerkzeuge (mit Netzkabel)
und auf akkubetriebene Elektrowerkzeuge (ohne
Netzkabel).
4.2
Maschinenspezifi sche Sicherheitshinweise
- Tragen Sie wegen den beim Schleifen auftretenden Gefahren stets eine Schutzbrille.
- Entstehen beim Schleifen explosive oder selbstentzündliche Stäube, so sind unbedingt die Bearbeitungshinweise des Werkstoffherstellers zu
beachten.
- Beim Arbeiten können schädliche/giftige Stäube entstehen (z. B. bleihaltiger Anstrich, einige
Holzarten und Metall). Das Berühren oder
Einatmen dieser Stäube kann für die Bedienperson oder in der Nähe befi ndliche Personen
eine Gefährdung darstellen. Beachten Sie die
in Ihrem Land gültigen Sicherheitsvorschriften.
Schließen Sie das Elektrowerkzeug an eine geeignete Absaugeinrichtung an.
Tragen Sie zum Schutz Ihrer Gesundheit
eine P2-Atemschutzmaske.
4.3 Emissionswerte

gen des Elektrowerkzeugs.
Erhöhung möglich bei anderen Anwendungen, mit
anderen Einsatzwerkzeugen oder ungenügend
gewartet. Leerlauf- und Stillstandszeiten der
Maschine beachten!
4.4 Bearbeitung von Metall:
Bei der Bearbeitung von Metall sind aus Sicherheitsgründen folgende Maßnahmen einzuhalten:
– Vorschalten eines Fehlerstrom- (FI) Schutz-
schalters.

– Maschine an ein geeignetes Absauggerät an-
schließen, vorher Holzstaub aus der Absaugung
entsorgen – wegen Staubexplosionsgefahr!
– Maschine regelmäßig von Staubablagerungen
im Motorgehäuse reinigen.
5 Elektrischer Anschluss und Inbetrieb-
nahme
Die Netzspannung muss mit der Angabe
auf dem Leistungsschild übereinstim-
men.
Zum Einschalten wird der Schalter (1.3) nach vorne geschoben. Ein leichter Druck auf das hintere
Ende des Schalters genügt, um das Gerät wieder
auszuschalten.
In kaltem Zustand kann es vorkommen, dass das
Gerät einige Minuten braucht bis es die Höchstdrehzahl erreicht. Dies ist konstruktionsbedingt
und nicht bedenklich

Zur Bearbeitung unterschiedlicher Oberfl ächen
ist es vorteilhaft, wenn die Schleifgeschwindigkeit
dem jeweiligen Werkstoff angepasst werden kann.
Die Ziffern auf dem Drehzahlregler (1.1) entsprechen in etwa folgenden Leerlaufwerten:

7 Absaugung
Zum Absaugen des entstehenden Schleifstaubs
wird der Schlauch (Ø 27 mm) eines Festool-Absauggerätes auf den Absaugstutzen (1.2) am Ende
des Motorgehäuses aufgesteckt. Der Schleifstaub
wird dann durch die Absaugkanäle im Schleifschuh direkt an der Abriebstelle abgesaugt.
Beim Bearbeiten von Holz oder bei Einsatz mit
Materialien, bei denen gesundheitsgefährdende
Stäube entstehen, ist das Elektrowerkzeug an
eine geeignete Absaugeinrichtung anzuschließen.
8 Schleifschuh
Der Schleifschuh besteht aus MPE-Schaum (Microzelliges Polyurethan-Elastomer) und hat schräg
nach außen verlaufende Kanten (2.3). Er ist auf
der Oberseite mit Velours und auf der Unterseite
mit Stickfi x-Belag versehen.
Der Schleifschuh wird mit der Veloursseite auf
den Stickfi x-Belag des Schleiftisches aufgedrückt
(2.4). Zur einfachen Justierung ist der Schleiftisch
des Geräts an seinen Ecken mit drei Zentriererhöhungen (2.1) versehen.
Bitte beachten:
Das Gerät wurde speziell für Arbeiten in Ecken
und an Kanten entwickelt. Das führt erfahrungsgemäß zu einer eher punktuellen Beanspruchung der Spitze des Schleiftellers. Hierbei ist
die Wärmeentwicklung zwangsläufi g höher als
bei Arbeiten auf der Fläche, weil sich der gleiche
Anpressdruck auf eine kleinere Fläche verteilen
muss. Arbeiten Sie deshalb mit reduziertem
Druck, da sonst der Stickfi x-Belag des Schleifschuhs und das Schleifmittel schnell Schaden
nehmen können.
Sollte der Stickfi x-Belag an der vorderen Spitze
des Schleifschuhs abgenutzt sein, muss lediglich
der Schleifschuh abgenommen und um 120°
verdreht wieder aufgesetzt werden. Sollte auch
der Stickfi x-Belag des Schleiftisches abgenutzt
sein, kann der komplette Tisch (Bestell-Nr. 487
406) ausgetauscht werden. Hierzu sind die beiden
Schrauben (Abb. 2.2 und 2.5) zu lösen.
9 Schleifmittel
Für eine wirkungsvolle Staubabsaugung bietet
Festool zu den Geräten gelochte Stickfi x-Schleifmittel in Körnungen zwischen P 40 und P 400.
Bestell-Nummern entnehmen Sie bitte den entsprechenden Prospektunterlagen.
Die Stickfi x-Schleifmittel werden einfach auf den
Stickfi x-Schleifschuh aufgedrückt und nach Gebrauch wieder abgezogen.
Ist die vordere Spitze des Schleifmittels abgenutzt, wird es nur vom Schleifschuh abgezogen
und um 120° verdreht wieder aufgesetzt
10 Warten und Pfl egen
Vor allen Arbeiten an der Maschine ist
stets der Netzstecker aus der Steckdose
zu ziehen.
Alle Wartungs- und Reparaturarbeiten,
die ein Öffnen des Motorgehäuses erfordern, dürfen nur von einer autorisierten
Kundendienstwerkstatt durchgeführt
werden.

- Harmful/toxic dusts can be produced during
your work (e.g. lead-containing paint, some
types of wood and metal). Contact with these
dusts, especially inhaling them, can represent
a hazard for operating personnel or persons in
the vicinity. Comply with the safety regulations
that apply in your country. Connect the electric
power tool to a suitable extraction system.
To protect your health, wear a P2 protec-
tive mask.
- Only for AS/NZS: The tool shall always be supplied via residual current device with a rated
residual current of 30 mA or less.
4.3 Noise and vibration information

3 Intended use
The Deltex sander can be used to smooth wood,
plastics, metal, steel, composite materials, paintlacquers, fi ller, stopper and similar materials.
Thanks to the triangular shape of the sanding pad
the machine is particularly suitable for processing
tricky corners, edges and grooves.
If explosive or selfi gniting dusts are produced during the sanding of certain materials the manufacturer’s processing instructions must be observed.
The user is liable for damage and injury
resulting from incorrect usage!
4 Safety instructions
4.1 General Safety Rules
WARNING! Read all safety warnings and
all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instruc-
tions may result in electric shock, fi re and/or
serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future
reference.
The term „power tool“ in the warnings refers
to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
4.2 Tool-specifi c safety rules
- Always wear protective goggles because of pos-
sible dangers when sanding.
- If potentially explosive or self-igniting dust is
produced during sanding, the processing instructions of the material manufacturer must
be observed under all circumstances.

Take note of idling and downtimes of machine!
4.4 Metalworking
The following precautions are to be taken when
processing metals for safety reasons:
– Connect a residual current operated device in
series before the tool.
– Connect tool to a suitable dust extractor.
Wood dust must be removed from the dust ex-
tractor beforehand – because of the danger of
dust explosion!
– Clean tool regularly of dust accumulations in
the motor housing
5 Power supply and start-up
The mains voltage must correspond to
the specifi cation on the rating plate.

Push the switch (1.3) forwards to start the machine. A slight pressure on the rear of the switch
is enough to switch the machine off.
When cold the machine may take a few minutes
to reach maximum speed. This is due to its construction and is not serious.
6 Electronics
When processing different surfaces it is helpful to
adjust the sanding speed to the respective material.
The fi gures on the speed regulator (1.1) roughly
correspond with the following idling speeds:

3 13 600 strokes/min 6 19 000 strokes/min
7 Dust extraction
In order to draw off the dust produced during
sanding the hose (Ø 27 mm) of a Festool dust
extractor is attached to the suction adapter (1.2)
at the end of the motor casing. The sanding dust
is then drawn off directly through the extractor
channel in the sanding pad.
When working with wood or if materials are used
which may produce harmful dusts the electrical
tool should be connected to a suitable extractor.
8 Sanding pad
The sanding pad is made of MPE foam (microcellular polyurethane elastomer) and has bevelled edges (2.3). It has a velour fabric on its top
surface and a Stickfi x covering on its underside.
The velour side of the sanding pad is pressed
against the Stickfi x covering of the sanding base
(2.4). The tools’s sanding base has three centring
protuberances (2.1) at its corners enabling easy
adjustment.
Please note:
The device has been specially developed for work
in corners and on edges. Experience has shown
that this leads to a more pointfocal load on the
tip of the sanding base. The heat generated is
naturally higher than when working on the whole
surface since the same pressure is applied to a
smaller surface. Do not apply as much pressure
since otherwise the Stickfi x covering of the sanding pad and the abrasive quickly become damaged. If the Stickfi x covering on the front tip of the
sanding pad should become worn simply remove
the sanding pad, rotate around 120° and replace.
If the Stickfi x covering of the sanding base should
become worn the complete base (Order No.
487406) can be replaced. Simply loosen the two
screws (2.2 and 2.5).
9 Abrasive
Festool can offer perforated Stickfi x abrasives
in grain sizes from P 40 to P 400 for an effective
dust extraction. Order numbers can be found in
the corresponding brochures.
The Stickfi x abrasives are simply pressed onto
the Stickfi x sanding pad and pulled off after use.
If the front tip of the abrasive has become worn
it can be removed from the sanding pad, rotated
around 120° and replaced.
10 Maintenance and care
Always remove the power supply plug
from the socket before carrying out any
work on the machine.
All maintenance and repair work which
requires the motor casing to be opened
may only be carried out by an authorised
service centre.

The vent openings on the motor casing must
always be kept clean and free to ensure a good
circulation of air.
The device is fi tted with self-disconnecting special brushes. If these become worn the power is
automatically interrupted and the device comes
to a standstill.

3 Utilisation conforme
La ponceuse Deltex est un appareil destiné à
poncer le bois, les matières plastiques, le métal,
la pierre, les matériaux composites, la peinture et
la laque, les matières de remplissage, le mastic
et des matériaux semblables. Du fait de la forme
triangulaire de la semelle de ponçage, l’appareil
se prête particulièrement à des travaux dans des
coins, des arêtes et des plis diffi cilement accessibles.
Si, lors du ponçage, il y a production de certaines
matières explosives ou de poussière auto-infl ammable, il est absolument nécessaire de tenir
compte des informations de travail du producteur

4 Informations de sécurité
4.1 Indications générales de sécurité
ATTENTION ! Lire toutes les consignes de
sécurité et indications. Le non-respect des
avertissements et instructions indiqués
ci-après peut entraîner un choc électrique, un
incendie et/ou de graves blessures.
Conservez toutes les consignes de sécurité et
notices pour une référence future.

Le terme « outil » dans les avertissements fait
reference à votre outil électrique alimenté par
le secteur (avec cordon d’alimentation) ou votre
outil fonctionnant sur batterie (sans cordon d’alimentation).
4.2 Consignes de sécurité spécifi ques à la
machine
- Portez toujours des lunettes de protection
contre les dangers du ponçage.
- Si le ponçage génère des poussières explosives
ou infl ammables, il faut absolument respecter
les instructions d’usinage fournies par le fabricant du matériau.
- Lors du travail, des poussières nocives/ toxiques
peuvent être générées (comme les poussières
de peintures au plomb ou certaines poussières
de bois ou de métal). Le contact ou l’inhalation
de ces poussières peut présenter un danger
pour l’utilisateur ou les personnes se trouvant
à proximité. Veuillez respecter les prescriptions
de sécurité en vigueur dans votre pays. Raccordez l’outil électrique à un dispositif d’aspiration
adapté.
Pour votre santé, portez un masque de
protection respiratoire de classe P2.
4.3 Information concernant le niveau sonore
et les vibrations
Les valeurs typiques obtenues selon EN 60745
sont les suivantes :
Niveau de pression acoustique 71 dB(A)
Niveau de puissance sonore 82 dB(A)
Majoration pour incertitude de mesure K = 3 dB
Munissez-vous de casques anti-bruit!
Valeur d’émission vibratoire ah (somme vectorielle
tridirectionnelle) et incertitude K déterminées
selon NE 60745 :
Valeur d’émission vibratoire ah = 3,0 m/s²
K = 1,5 m/s²
Tête de carter ah = 5,5 m/s²
K = 2,0 m/s²
Les valeurs d’émission indiquées (vibration, bruit)
– sont destinées à des fi ns de comparaisons entre
les outils.
– Elles permettent également une estimation
provisoire de la charge de vibrations et de la
nuisance sonore lors de l’utilisation
– et représentent les principales applications de
l’outil électrique.
Cependant, si la ponceuse est utilisée pour
d’autres applications, avec d’autres outils de tra-

vail ou est insuffi samment entretenue, la charge
de vibrations et la nuisance sonore peuvent être
nettement supérieures. Tenir compte des temps
de ralenti et d’immobilisation de l’outil !
4.4 Traitement des métaux :
Lors du traitement des métaux, il est indispensable de respecter les mesures suivantes afi n de
travailler en toute sécurité :
– Un interrupteur de sécurité (FI) doit être monté
en amont.
– La machine doit être raccordée à un aspirateur
convenable. D’avant, il faut enlever la poussière
de bois de l’aspirateur – à cause du danger de
coup de poussière !
– La machine doit régulièrement être nettoyée
pour éliminer les dépôts de poussières accumulées dans le corps du moteur.
5 Raccordement électrique et mise en
service
La tension du réseau doit correspondre
aux indications de la plaque signalétique.
La mise en marche de l’appareil est opérée en
poussant le commutateur (1.3) vers l’avent. Il suffi t d’appuyer légèrement sur l’extrémité arrière du
commutateur pour arrêter de nouveau l’appareil.
A l’état froid, il peut arriver que l’appareil ait
besoin de quelques minutes jusqu’à ce que la
vitesse de rotation maximale soit atteinte. Ceci
est dû à la construction et est tout à fait normal.
6 Electronic
Pour traiter diverses surfaces, il est avantageux
que la vitesse de ponçage soit adaptée au matériau spécifi que.
Les chiffres visibles sur le variateur de vitesse
(1.1) correspondent environ aux valeurs de vitesse
à vide :

7 Aspiration de la poussière
Pour aspirer la poussière de ponçage produite, le
tuyau fl exible (Ø 27 mm) d’un appareil d’aspiration
Festool est enfi ché sur la tubulure d’aspiration
(1.2) à l’extrémité du boîtier moteur. La poussière
de ponçage se trouve alors aspirée par les canaux
d’aspiration de la semelle, directement à l’emplacement où le frottement a lieu.
Lorsque du bois est traité ou en cas d’utilisation
de matériaux produisant des poussières dangereuses pour la santé, cet outil électrique doit être
raccordé à un dispositif d’aspiration approprié.
8 Semelle
La semelle est en mousse d’élastomère polyuréthane microcellulaire ses bords sont inclinés
vers l’extérieur (2.3). Elle est pourvue, sur la face
supérieur, de velours et, sur la face inférieure,
d’un revêtement Stickfi x. La semelle est pressée
côté velours sur le revêtement Stickfi x du plateau
de ponçage (2.4). Pour obtenir un ajustage aisé,
le plateau de ponçage de l’appareil est pourvu de
trois élévations de centrage sur ses coins (2.1).
Veuillez observer ce qui suit :
L’appareil a été développé spécialement pour travailler dans des coins et sur des arêtes. Chacun
sait d’expérience que ce mode de travail donne
plutôt lieu à une usure ponctuelle de l’extrémité
du disque de ponçage. Ce faisant, la formation
de chaleur est forcément plus élevée que lors
de travaux en surface étant donné que la même
pression d’application doit se répartir sur une
surface plus petite. Pour cette raison, travaillez
à pression d’application réduite étant donné que
sinon, le revêtement Stickfi x de la semelle ainsi
que l’abrasif risquent d’être rapidement endommagés.
Au cas où le revêtement Stickfi x serait usé à
l’extrémité avant de la semelle de ponçage, il suffi t
de retirer la semelle et de la poser de nouveau en
la tournant de 120°.
Au cas où le revêtement Stickfi x du plateau de
ponçage serait également usé, le plateau complet
(N° de commande 487 406) peut être remplacé.
A cet effet, il convient de desserer les deux vis
(2.2 et 2.5).
9 Abrasif
Pour obtenir une aspiration effi cace de la poussière, Festool présente, pour ses appareils, des
abrasifs Stickfi x perforés en grains de P 40 à P
400.
Pour les numéros de commande, veuillez vous
reporter aux prospectus et documentations correspondants.
Il suffit d’appuyer les abrasifs Stickfix sur la
semelle de ponçage Stickfi x et de les enlever de
nouveau après utilisation.
En cas d’usure de l’extrémité avant de l’abrasif, il
suffi t de le retirer de la semelle et de le reposer
en le tournant de 120°.

10 Entretien et maintenance
Avant d‘entreprendre une quelconque
intervention sur la machine, débrancher
la prise de courant !
Tout entretien ou réparation qui nécessite
l‘ouverture du capot du moteur ne doit
être entrepris que par un atelier autorisé.
Seuls le fabricant et un atelier homologué
sont habilités à effectuer toute répara-

Pour assurer la circulation de l’air, les ouvertures
d’air de refroidissement dans le boîtier moteur
doivent toujours être libres et dans un état de
propreté impeccable.
L’appareil est équipé de charbons spéciaux assurant une mise hors circuit automatique. Lorsque
ceux-ci sont usés, il donnent lieu à une coupure
automatiquement du courant et l’appareil s’arrête.

Pour votre propre sécurité, n‘utiliser que
des accessoires et pièces de rechange
Festool d‘origine.

12 Environnement
Ne jetez pas les outils électriques avec les ordures
ménagères ! Eliminez l‘appareil, les accessoires
et l‘emballage dans le respect de l‘environnement, c‘est-à-dire en les envoyant au recyclage !

vigueur.
