Operating Instructions

Thank you for purchasing the Exo Terra® SunRay Fixture with Ballast & Bulb. The Exo Terra® SunRay Fixture with Ballast is designed to accommodate metal halide bulbs. Please read this operation manual carefully before use and operate according to the instructions provided for maximum safety and performance. We recommend that you keep this manual handy for future reference.

Introduction

The Exo Terra® SunRay Fixture has been developed for use with the Exo Terra® SunRay bulb (included) and increases the performance and lifespan of any metal halide bulb. The combination of the Exo Terra SunRay Fixture with the Exo Terra® SunRay bulb will provide optimal levels of visible light, UV and heat and can be used as a sole light source. The ﬁxture’s stylish looks suites all kinds of terrariums and integrates into any living space. To obtain optimal results and safety, the ﬁxture should be used in conjunction with an Exo Terra® SunRay bulb of the proper wattage.

The ﬁxture is available in 3 sizes:

PT2315 Exo Terra® SunRay Metal Halide Fixture and Ballast 35W (includes 35W SunRay Bulb PT2326)

PT2320 Exo Terra® SunRay Metal Halide Fixture and Ballast 50W (includes 50W SunRay Bulb PT2327)

PT2325 Exo Terra® SunRay Metal Halide Fixture and Ballast 70W (includes 70W SunRay Bulb PT2328)

INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed when handling the Exo Terra® Metal Halide Fixture, including the following:

1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

and all important notices on the appliance before using. Failure to do so may result in damage to the unit.

2. WARNING - This appliance is NOT waterproof and MUST be

prevented from coming in contact with water.

3. Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use,

before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord to pull plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.

4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including

children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

5. To avoid injury, do not contact hot parts, allow to cool down

before handling.

6. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use. The use

of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.

7. The Exo Terra® SunRay Bulb emits UV and was designed strictly

for use with reptiles. It should be operated in a way that humans are never exposed to UV. Before handling the bulb, and to avoid exposing yourself to the light emitted by the bulb, switch off the bulb and let it cool down.

8. Never look directly into the bulb.

9. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to

weather or to temperatures below freezing.

10. The safety of this appliance is guaranteed only provided that the

bulbs, adaptors, and light unit is properly installed.

11. Do not use more than one bulb on one ballast.

12. Damaged bulbs or bulbs that do not function properly have to be

removed immediately.

13. Provide sufﬁcient ventilation. Never cover the bulb or ballast.

14. Never install the bulb near ﬂammable objects.

15. The housing of this bulb may only be opened by authorized

personnel or by the manufacturer.

16. Switch off the bulb before performing any maintenance of any

kind in the terrarium.

17. Disconnect the plug of the light unit, and any other electrical

equipment, used for the terrarium, paludarium or aqua-terrarium before placing your hands in the water; and/or performing any

maintenance of any kind.

18. Whenever installing, removing, changing or maintaining bulbs

always ensure that the device is unplugged.

19. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with a proper rating

should be used. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.

20. DANGER – To avoid possible electrical shock, special care should

be taken. For each of the following situations, do not attempt

repairs yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service

facility for service or discard the appliance:

A. If the appliance falls into the water, DON’T reach for it! First

unplug it and then retrieve it. If the electrical components of the appliance get wet, unplug the appliance immediately.

B. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not

be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.

C. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged electrical cord

or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. The power cord of this appliance cannot be replaced: if the cord is damaged, the appliance should be discarded. Never cut the cord.

D. To avoid the possibility of the appliance plug

or electrical outlet getting wet, position the appliance to one side of a wall mounted outlet to prevent water from dripping onto the outlet or plug. A “drip-loop” should be arranged. The “drip-loop” is that part of the cord below the

level of the unit and the outlet, or the connector if an extension cord is used, to prevent water from traveling along the cord and coming in contact with the outlet or light unit. If the plug or outlet does get wet, DON’T unplug the electrical cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance, then

unplug and examine for presence of water in the outlet.

• This equipment is FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.

• Warning: Disconnect the plug of this light unit, and any other electrical equipment, used for the terrarium, paludarium or aqua-terrarium before placing your hands in the water; and/or

performing any maintenance of any kind.

• Warning: Whenever installing, removing, changing or maintaining

Exo Terra® SunRay bulbs (or any other metal halide bulbs) always ensure that the ﬁxture is unplugged.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

Only the faithful observation of these installation, electrical and maintenance guidelines will ensure the safe and efﬁcient use of this appliance. The Exo Terra® SunRay is a ﬁxture designed for use with the Exo Terra® SunRay bulbs and the Exo Terra® Glass Terrariums.

Exo Terra® Metal Halide Fixture Installation instructions

RECOMMENDATION: Use only Exo Terra® Sunray bulbs as per the wattage rating indicated on the electrical data label located on the ﬁxture. UV radiation slowly decreases over time. To assure that your animals continuously receive the right amount of UV, we recommend to replace the Exo Terra® Sunray bulb every 12 months. Subscribe to our “Restore the Rays” program on www.exo-terra.com to receive a reminder when your Exo Terra® Sunray bulb needs to be replaced.

INSTALLATION OF LIGHTING UNIT (p. 38)

1. Clean the outside surface of the terrarium glass

2. With the protective backing still intact, place the SunRay ﬁxture

adhesive supporting base on the back or the side of the terrarium to determine its ﬁnal position.

3. Mark the position with a wax pencil or other marker.

4. Remove the protective backing and carefully ﬁt the adhesive

supporting base within the marked area.

5. Make sure the tape is pressed evenly against the terrarium glass

and that no air bubbles are showing.

6. Press the adhesive sides ﬁrmly against the glass panel for at

least 30 seconds.

7. Wait a few moments and make sure the tape is attached ﬁrmly to

the terrarium before releasing the ﬁxture.

8. Once in place, the SunRay ﬁxture should not be removed.

9. Adjust the height and tighten the screw of adhesive supporting

base when the Exo Terra® SunRay ﬁxture is suspended above the terrarium at the desired height. Grasp the ﬁxture at the point indicated.

10. Ensure that the light’s focal point is not positioned above any

plastic parts of the terrarium or screen cover to prevent damage.

Bulb replacement: RECOMMENDATION: Exo Terra® SunRay bulb (p.39-41)

1. Unplug the ﬁxture.

2. Remove the ﬁxture from the terrarium.

3. Screw the new bulb into the unit.

4. Recycle. Dispose of the used bulb responsibly.

Maintenance Warning:

• Disconnect the plug of this light unit, and any other electrical equipment, used for the terrarium, paludarium or aqua-terrarium before placing your hands in the water; and/or performing any

maintenance of any kind.

• Whenever installing, removing or changing bulbs or maintaining,

installing or removing the Exo Terra® Metal Halide Fixture or any

other equipment, always ensure that it is unplugged.

• The electrical supply cords of this lighting system cannot be

replaced. If any of the cords are damaged the entire unit should be discarded.

Cleaning the Unit

1. Do not place the light unit housing near ﬁlter outputs or expose it

to water spray or humidity. Do not submerge in water.

2. Ensure that the heat vents are kept free and clear of any obstruction, dust and debris. Use a cloth to wipe away any debris that may obstruct the heat vents.

3. No special maintenance is required for the Exo Terra® Metal Halide

Fixture, other than periodic cleaning with a cloth (never use harsh chemical products or detergents). To remove calcareous deposits

(bulb sockets), it is recommended to use a mild acid such as vinegar, followed by a thorough wipe down with a damp cloth to remove any residues.

4. It is strongly recommended to always follow all the precautions and procedures outlined in both the Important Safeguards and Installation Instructions sections.

GUARANTEE

This product is guaranteed for defects in material or workmanship for a period of 2 years from date of purchase. The guarantee is valid with proof of purchase only. The guarantee is limited to repair or

replacement of the unit only and does not cover consequential loss

or damage of or to animate or inanimate objects. Guarantee does not extend to bulb. This guarantee is valid only under normal operating conditions for which the unit is intended. It excludes any damage caused by unreasonable use, improper installation, negligence, tampering, or abuse of the unit. For guarantee service or spare parts contact your local pet dealer or write to the representative in your country. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

RECYCLING

This item bears the selective sorting symbol for waste

electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE). This means

that the product must be handled pursuant to European

Directive 2002/96/EC in order to be recycled or

dismantled to minimise it’s impact on the environment. For further information please contact your local or regional Authorities. Electronic products not included in the selective sorting process are potentially dangerous for the environment and human health due to the prescence of hazardous substances.

product, please consult your Exo Terra® specialist retailer in the ﬁrst instance. Most problems can be resolved in store, but in the likely event it cannot, please return the unit with a valid proof of purchase to the retailer for a replacement under the two year warranty. Notice d’utilisation

Nous vous remercions d’avoir acheté l’appareil d’éclairage SunRay Exo Terra® aux halogénures comprenant un ballast. L’appareil est conçu pour une ampoule aux halogénures. Veuillez lire le présent mode d’emploi soigneusement avant d’utiliser l’appareil et de le faire fonctionner selon les instructions fournies pour obtenir le meilleur

rendement possible, et ce, de la façon la plus sécuritaire qui soit.

Nous vous recommandons de garder ce mode d’emploi à portée de la main pour consultation ultérieure.

Introduction

L’appareil d’éclairage aux halogénures SunRay Exo Terra® a été

conçu pour fonctionner avec une ampoule SunRay ExoTerra®, et celui-ci accroît le rendement de toute ampoule de ce type et en prolonge la durée de vie. Cet appareil d’éclairage SunRay Exo Terra®, combiné à une ampoule SunRay Exo Terra®, fournit un apport optimal en lumière visible et en UV, et l’appareil peut être utilisé comme source exclusive d’éclairage. Son design élégant convient à toute sorte de terrariums et s’intègre à tout décor. Pour obtenir les meilleurs résultats possibles et pour des raisons de sécurité,

cet appareil d’éclairage doit être utilisé avec une ampoule SunRay Exo Terra® d’un wattage adéquat.

L’appareil d’éclairage existe en trois modèles distincts :

PT2315 Appareil d’éclairage aux halogénures, 35 W, avec ballast (comprend une ampoule SunRay de 35 W, PT2326)

PT2320 Appareil d’éclairage aux halogénures, 50 W, avec ballast (comprend une ampoule SunRay de 50 W, PT2327)

PT2325 Appareil d’éclairage aux halogénures, 70 W, avec ballast (comprend une ampoule SunRay de 70W, PT2328)

INSTRUCTIONS SE RAPPORTANT À UN RISQUE D’INCENDIE, DE CHOC ÉLECTRIQUE OU DE BLESSURES AUX PERSONNES.

MESURES DE SÉCURITÉ IMPORTANTES

MISE EN GARDE: Pour éviter toute blessure, il faut, en manipulant l’appareil d’éclairage à ampoule aux halogénures SunRay® Exo Terra, observer des précautions élémentaires de sécurité, dont les suivantes :

1. LIRE ET RESPECTER TOUTES LES CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ

avant usage et tous les avis importants apparaissant sur

l’appareil. Faute de quoi, il pourrait s’ensuivre des dommages à

l’appareil.

2. MISE EN GARDE - Cet appareil N’ÉTANT PAS étanche, il DOIT

être protégé du contact avec l’eau.

3. Toujours débrancher l’appareil lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé, avant

d’ajouter ou de retirer des pièces, et avant d’en effectuer le nettoyage. Ne jamais tirer sur le cordon d’alimentation pour débrancher l’appareil, mais plutôt prendre la ﬁche et tirer.

4. Cet appareil ne doit pas être utilisé par des personnes (y compris

des enfants) aux capacités physiques, sensorielles ou mentales réduites, ou qui manquent d’expérience et de connaissance à moins qu’elles soient placées sous la supervision d’une personne chargée de leur sécurité ou qu’elles en aient reçu les

directives nécessaires à son utilisation. Toujours surveiller les enfants pour les empêcher de jouer avec cet appareil.

5. Pour éviter toute blessure, ne toucher aucune pièce chaude;

attendre que celles-ci aient refroidi.

6. Ne pas se servir de l’appareil pour un usage autre que celui

prévu. L’emploi de xations ni recommandées ni vendues

par le fabricant de l’appareil peut être source de situations dangereuses.

7. L’ampoule aux halogénures SunRayMD Exo Terra émet des

rayons UV et son utilisation a été prévue à l’intention exclusive

des reptiles. Elle doit être utilisée de telle sorte que les humains ne soient jamais exposés aux rayons UV que la lampe émet.

Avant de manipuler la lampe, et aﬁn de ne pas être exposé à la

lumière que celle-ci émet, éteindre la lampe et la laisser refroidir.

8. Ne jamais regarder directement la lampe. 9. Ne pas installer ni

ranger l’appareil où il serait exposé à des températures sous le point de congélation.

10. Dans la mesure où ampoule, ballast et appareil d’éclairage sont

correctement installés, ils ne représentent aucun danger.

11. N’utiliser qu’une seule lampe par ballast.

12. Toute ampoule endommagée ou ne fonctionnant pas

correctement doit être enlevée sans délai.

13. Fournir sufﬁsamment de ventilation. Ne jamais couvrir l’ampoule

ni le ballast.

14. Ne jamais installer l’ampoule à proximité d’objets inﬂammables.

15. Seuls le personnel autorisé ou le manufacturier sont autorisés à

ouvrir le boîtier.

16. Avant d’effectuer quelque entretien que ce soit dans tout

terrarium, débrancher la lampe.

17. Débrancher la che de tout autre équipement électrique utilisé

pour un terrarium, un paludarium ou un aquaterrarium avant de

se mettre les mains dans l’eau ou d’effectuer tout entretien.

18. Toujours s’assurer, préalablement à toute installation, à tout

changement ou à tout entretien, que l’appareil est débranché.

19. Si une rallonge électrique est nécessaire, vérier qu’elle est d’un

calibre sufsant. Un cordon électrique de moins d’ampères ou de watts que l’appareil peut surchauffer. Des précautions doivent

être prises aﬁn d’éviter de tirer sur la rallonge ou de trébucher dessus.

20. DANGER – Pour éviter tout risque d’électrocution, porter

une attention spéciale du fait que l’eau est utilisée avec cet équipement, ou qu’elle peut l’être. Dans chacune des situations suivantes, ne pas essayer de réparer l’appareil soi-même; le

retourner plutôt à un service de réparations autorisé ou le jeter.

A. Si l’appareil tombe dans l’eau, NE PAS l’attraper. Il faut d’abord

le débrancher et ensuite le retirer. Si des pièces électriques de

l’appareil se mouillent, débrancher immédiatement l’appareil.

B. Examiner attentivement l’appareil après l’installation. Il ne faut

pas le brancher en présence d’eau sur des pièces qui ne doivent

pas être mouillées.

C. Ne pas faire fonctionner un appareil dont la ﬁche ou le cordon

est endommagé, qui ne fonctionne pas correctement ou qui est tombé ou a été endommagé d’une manière quelconque. Le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil ne peut pas être remplacé;

s’il est endommagé, il faut jeter l’appareil. Ne jamais couper le cordon.

D. An d’éviter que la che ou la prise de courant

de l’appareil se mouille, placer l’appareil à côté d’une prise de courant murale et faire

en sorte que l’eau ne s’égoutte ni sur cette

prise ni sur la ﬁche. Il faut former une « boucle

d’égouttement ». La « boucle d’égouttement » est la partie du cordon qui se trouve sous la

prise de courant, ou le raccord si une rallonge

est utilisée, et qui empêche l’eau de glisser

le long du cordon et d’entrer en contact avec la prise de courant ou l’appareil d’éclairage. Si la ﬁche ou la prise de courant sont mouillées, NE PAS débrancher l’appareil.

Mettre d’abord hors circuit le fusible ou le disjoncteur qui fournit l’électricité à l’appareil, le débrancher ensuite et vérier qu’il n’y

a pas d’eau dans la prise.

• Ce matériel doit ÊTRE UTILISÉ À L’INTÉRIEUR SEULEMENT.

• Avertissement : Débrancher la che de l’appareil d’éclairage, ou

de tout autre équipement électrique, utilisé pour tout terrarium, paludarium ou aquaterrarium avant de se mettre les mains dans l’eau ou d’effectuer quelque entretien que ce soit.

• Avertissement : Toujours s’assurer, au moment d’installer, de

retirer ou de changer l’ampoule SunRay® Exo Terra (ou toute

autre ampoule) ou de procéder à son entretien, que l’appareil

d’éclairage est bel et bien débranché.

CONSERVER LES PRÉSENTES INSTRUCTIONS.

Seule l’observation rigoureuse des présentes directives

d’installation, de raccordement électrique et d’entretien assure

l’utilisation sûre et efﬁcace de l’appareil.

L’utilisation de l’appareil d’éclairage SunRay Exo Terra® est conçue

en fonction de l’ampoule SunRay Exo Terra® et des terrariums en verre Exo Terra®.

Directives d’installation relatives à l’appareil d’éclairage aux halogénures Exo Terra

RECOMMENDATION: Utiliser exclusivement les ampoules SunRay

Exo Terra® en respectant la puissance en watts indiquée sur

l’étiquette des données électriques de l’appareil d’éclairage. L’intensité des rayons UV diminue lentement au l du temps. Pour s’assurer que vos animaux d’agrément reçoivent de façon continue

les UV dont ils ont besoin, nous recommandons de remplacer annuellement l’ampoule aux halogénures SunRay. Inscrivez-vous à notre programme Rétablissez l’éclairage sur notre site Web www.

exo-terra.com pour recevoir un avis indiquant qu’il est temps de

remplacer votre ampoule aux halogénures SunRay Exo Terra®.

INSTALLATION DE L’APPAREIL D’ÉCLAIRAGE (p. 38)

1. Nettoyer la paroi extérieure du terrarium de verre.

2. Tout en gardant la pellicule protectrice, placer le support de

montage de l’appareil d’éclairage derrière ou sur le côté du terrarium, là où il sera placé déﬁnitivement.

3. Marquer l’emplacement déterminé avec un crayon de cire ou un

autre type de crayon marqueur.

4. Enlever le support de papier ciré et ﬁxer soigneusement le support

de l’appareil d’éclairage à l’emplacement déterminé.

5. S’assurer que le ruban adhésif est collé uniformément sur le verre

du terrarium et qu’il n’y a aucune bulle d’air.

6. Appuyer fermement sur le ruban adhésif collé sur le panneau en

verre, pendant au moins 30 secondes.

7. Attendre quelques secondes et s’assurer que le ruban adhésif est

bien ﬁxé au terrarium avant de laisser l’appareil d’éclairage tenir par lui-même.

8. Une fois celui-ci ﬁxé, ne pas enlever l’appareil d’éclairage.

9. Ajuster la hauteur et visser la vis du support de l’appareil

d’éclairage SunRay Exo Terra® suspendu, à la hauteur souhaitée, au-dessus du terrarium. Bien tenir l’appareil d’éclairage.

10. S’assurer que les faisceaux de lumière ne convergent sur

aucune pièce en plastique ni sur le couvercle grillagé du terrarium

aﬁn de ne pas les endommager.

Remplacement de l’ampoule aux halogénures : RECOMMANDATION : ampoule SunRay Exo Terra® (p.39-41)

1. Débrancher l’appareil d’éclairage.

2. Sortir l’appareil d’éclairage du terrarium.

3. Visser la nouvelle ampoule.

4. Recycler l’ampoule usagée. Sinon, la jeter de manière

responsable.

Entretien Avertissement :

• Débrancher l’appareil d’éclairage, et tout autre équipement électrique, utilisé pour tout terrarium, paludarium ou aquaterrarium avant de se mettre les mains dans l’eau ou d’effectuer quelque entretien que ce soit.

• Au moment d’installer, de retirer ou de changer une ampoule

ou de procéder à l’entretien de l’appareil d’éclairage aux halogénures Exo Terra® ou de tout autre appareil, ou de l’installer,

sinon de l’enlever, toujours s’assurer que l’appareil en question

est bel et bien débranché.

• Le cordon d’alimentation de cet appareil ne peut être remplacé.

S’il est endommagé, jeter l’appareil.

Nettoyage de l’appareil

1. Ne pas mettre l’appareil d’éclairage près d’une sortie de ﬁltre,

ni à un endroit où il serait exposé à de l’humidité ou à de l’eau vaporisée. Ne pas immerger dans l’eau.

2. S’assurer que rien, ni poussière ni débris, n’obstrue les bouches

de chaleur. Utiliser un linge pour les débarrasser de tout débris qui

pourrait les obstruer.

Bedienungsanleitung

Herzlichen Dank, dass Sie sich für dieses Produkt entschieden haben. Die SunRay-Halterung von Exo Terra® mit Vorschaltgerät wurde speziell für Halogenmetalldampﬂampen entwickelt. Für eine

maximale Leistung und höchste Sicherheit bei der Verwendung

des Produkts lesen Sie sich diese Bedienungsanleitung bitte zunächst aufmerksam durch und befolgen Sie die darin enthaltenen Anweisungen. Bewahren Sie diese Anleitung griffbereit auf.

Einleitung

Die Exo Terra® SunRay-Halterung wurde optimal auf den Gebrauch in Verbindung mit der Exo Terra® SunRay-Lampe (im Lieferumfang

enthalten) abgestimmt. Sie trägt zur Leistungssteigerung und

längeren Haltbarkeit von Halogenmetalldampﬂampen bei. Durch

die Kombination einer SunRay-Halterung und einer SunRay-Lampe

von Exo Terra® wird das optimale Niveau an sichtbarem Licht,

UV- und Wärmestrahlung erreicht, sodass keine weitere Lichtquelle

erforderlich ist. Das modische Design der Halterung passt zu allen Terrarien und fügt sich nahtlos in jede Wohnumgebung ein. Für beste

Ergebnisse und höchste Sicherheit sollte die Halterung in Verbindung

mit einer Exo Terra® SunRay-Lampe mit der entsprechenden Wattzahl verwendet werden.

Die Halterung ist in drei Varianten erhältlich::

WICHTIGE SICHERHEITSHINWEISE

ACHTUNG: Zum Schutz vor Verletzungen sind beim Umgang mit der Exo Terra® SunRay-Halterung die folgenden grundlegenden Sicherheitshinweise zu beachten:

1. LESEN UND BEFOLGEN SIE ALLE SICHERHEITSHINWEISE

sowie alle auf dem Gerät vorhandenen Hinweise, bevor Sie es in Betrieb nehmen und verwenden. Andernfalls kann das Gerät beschädigt werden.

2. ACHTUNG -Das Gerät ist NICHT wasserdicht und DARF NICHT

mit Wasser in Berührung kommen.

3. Für die Reinigung, vor der Montage oder Demontage von Teilen

oder wenn es nicht gebraucht wird, ist das Gerät stets vom

Stromnetz zu trennen. Den Stecker niemals an der Leitung aus

der Steckdose ziehen, sondern am Stecker anfassen und ziehen.

4. Das Gerät ist nicht für den Gebrauch durch Personen

(einschließlich Kindern) mit eingeschränkten körperlichen,

sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten oder durch Personen mit wenig Erfahrung im Umgang mit technischen Geräten geeignet, außer wenn diese Personen vor der Nutzung des Gerätes entsprechende Bedienungsanweisungen erhalten oder sie unter Aufsicht einer Person stehen, die für ihre Sicherheit verantwortlich ist. Kinder sollten stets beaufsichtigt werden, damit sie nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

5. Um Verletzungen zu vermeiden, berühren Sie keine heißen Teile,

sondern lassen Sie sie zunächst abkühlen.

6. Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur für den vorgesehenen Zweck.

Die Verwendung von Zubehörteilen, die nicht vom Hersteller

des Gerätes empfohlen oder verkauft werden, kann zu einem unsicheren Betriebszustand des Gerätes führen.

7. Die Exo Terra® SunRay-Lampe gibt UV-Strahlung ab und ist

ausschließlich für die Bestrahlung von Reptilien zu verwenden. Sie sollte so betrieben werden, dass niemals Menschen der UV-

Strahlung ausgesetzt sind. Schalten Sie die Lampe immer aus

und lassen Sie sie abkühlen, bevor Sie sie berühren. Vermeiden

Sie es, sich dem Licht der Lampe auszusetzen.

8. Sehen Sie niemals direkt in die Lampe.

9. Wählen Sie für die Installation oder Aufbewahrung des Gerätes

einen Ort, an dem es nicht der Witterung oder Temperaturen unter dem Gefrierpunkt ausgesetzt ist.

10. Der sichere Betrieb des Gerätes ist nur dann gewährleistet,

wenn die Lampe, der Adapter und die Lampensteuerung

ordnungsgemäß installiert wurden.

11. Nur eine Lampe pro Vorschaltgerät verwenden.

12. Beschädigte Lampen oder nicht einwandfrei funktionierende

Lampen müssen umgehend entfernt werden.

13. Sorgen Sie für eine ausreichende Belüftung. Die Lampe oder das

Vorschaltgerät nicht zudecken.

14. Niemals die Lampe in der Nähe von brennbaren Materialien

installieren.

15. Das Gehäuse der Lampe darf nur vom Hersteller oder von

autorisierten Fachkräften geöffnet werden.

16. Schalten Sie die Lampe stets aus, bevor Sie Ihr Terrarium warten

oder pﬂegen oder andere Arbeiten daran durchführen.

17. Ziehen Sie den Stecker der Lampensteuerung und anderer

elektrischer Geräte, die mit Ihrem Terrarium, Paludarium oder

Aquaterrarium verbunden sind, bevor Sie Ihre Hände in das Wasser tauchen und/oder irgendwelche Arbeiten durchführen.

18. Überprüfen Sie stets, ob das Gerät vom Stromnetz getrennt ist,

bevor Sie Lampen installieren, entfernen, austauschen oder warten.

19. Wenn ein Verlängerungskabel benötigt wird, muss ein Kabel

geeigneter Leistung benutzt werden. Ein Verlängerungskabel mit

weniger Ampere oder Watt als das Gerät kann sich überhitzen.

Achten Sie darauf, das Verlängerungskabel so zu verlegen, dass niemand darüber stolpert oder es versehentlich herauszieht.

20. GEFAHR – zur Vermeidung eines möglichen elektrischen

Schlags sollten Sie besonders vorsichtig sein. In den folgenden Situationen sollten Sie nicht versuchen, das Gerät selbst zu reparieren, sondern es an einen autorisierten Kundendienst zur Reparatur geben oder das Gerät entsorgen:

A. Sollte das Gerät ins Wasser fallen, greifen Sie NICHT danach!

Trennen Sie es erst vom Stromnetz, bevor Sie es aus dem Wasser holen. Wenn elektrische Komponenten des Gerätes nass werden, trennen Sie das Gerät sofort vom Stromnetz.

B. Gerät nach der Installation sorgfältig prüfen. Wenn Teile nass

sind, die nicht mit Wasser in Berührung kommen dürfen, das Gerät nicht an das Stromnetz anschließen.

C. Kein Gerät mit beschädigtem Netzkabel oder beschädigtem

Stecker benutzen oder wenn es nicht richtig funktioniert, heruntergefallen ist oder anderweitig beschädigt wurde. Das Netzkabel des Geräts kann nicht ausgewechselt werden. Wenn das Kabel beschädigt ist, sollte das Gerät entsorgt werden. Niemals das Kabel abschneiden.

D. Um zu verhindern, dass der Gerätestecker

oder die Steckdose nass werden, sollte das Gerät so neben einer Wandsteckdose platziert werden, dass weder Steckdose noch Stecker mit

Wasser in Berührung kommen können. Mit dem

Netzkabel sollte eine „Tropfschleife“ unterhalb

der Lampensteuerung, der Steckdose und ggf.

des Anschlusses eines Verlängerungskabels geformt werden, sodass kein Wasser am Kabel entlangwandern und mit der Steckdose oder

der Lampensteuerung in Berührung kommen kann. Wenn der

Stecker oder die Steckdose nass werden, NICHT den Stecker ziehen. Sicherung oder Stromkreisunterbrecher für das Gerät ausschalten. Erst danach das Netzkabel herausziehen und die Steckdose auf Wasser überprüfen.

• Dieses Gerät ist NICHT FÜR DEN EINSATZ IM FREIEN geeignet.

• Achtung: Ziehen Sie den Stecker der Lampensteuerung und

anderer elektrischer Geräte, die mit Ihrem Terrarium, Paludarium

oder Aquaterrarium verbunden sind, bevor Sie Ihre Hände in das

Wasser tauchen bzw. irgendwelche Arbeiten durchführen.

• Achtung: Überprüfen Sie stets, ob die Halterung vom Stromnetz

getrennt ist, bevor Sie Exo Terra® SunRay-Lampen oder andere Halogenmetalldampﬂampen installieren, entfernen, austauschen oder warten.

BEWAHREN SIE DIESE ANLEITUNG AUF.

Nur durch die strikte Befolgung der hierin enthaltenen Anweisungen und Hinweise ist ein sicherer und efﬁzienter Betrieb des Gerätes gewährleistet. Die SunRay-Halterungen von Exo Terra® eignen sich ideal für den

Einsatz in Verbindung mit den SunRay-Lampen und den Glasterrarien

von Exo Terra®.

Hinweise zur Installation

EMPFEHLUNG: Verwenden Sie nur Exo-Terra® SunRay-Lampen,

deren Wattzahl den Angaben auf dem Typenschild entspricht, das auf der Halterung angebracht ist. Die UV-Strahlung lässt mit der Zeit

nach: Damit Ihre Tiere stets mit der richtigen UV-Menge versorgt werden, empfehlen wir, die Exo Terra® SunRay-Lampe nach 12 Monaten auszutauschen. Melden Sie sich daher am besten bei unserem Service „Restore the Rays“ auf www.exo-terra.com an, um erinnert zu werden, wenn Sie Ihre Exo Terra® SunRay-Lampe erneuern müssen.

INSTALLATIONSANLEITUNG (p. 38)

1. Reinigen Sie die Außenﬂächen des Terrariums.

2. Entfernen Sie noch nicht die Schutzfolie von der Klebebefestigung,

sondern platzieren Sie die SunRay-Halterung zur Ermittlung der gewünschten Position zunächst an der Rückseite oder der Seite des Terrariums.

3. Markieren Sie die endgültige Position mit einem Stift.

4. Entfernen Sie nun die Schutzfolie und setzen Sie die

Klebebefestigung sorgfältig auf die Markierung.

5. Achten Sie darauf, die Klebebefestigung gleichmäßig auf das

Terrariumglas zu drücken, ohne dass Blasen entstehen.

6. Drücken Sie die Klebebefestigung mindestens 30 Sekunden lang

fest auf das Glas.

7. Überprüfen Sie nach einer Weile, ob die Klebebefestigung fest sitzt

und lassen Sie die Halterung erst dann vollständig los.

8. Einmal angebracht, sollte die SunRay-Halterung nicht wieder

entfernt werden.

9. Wenn sich die Exo Terra SunRay®-Halterung in der gewünschten

Höhe über dem Terrarium bendet, ziehen Sie die Schrauben der Klebebefestigung fest und stellen somit die Höhe ein. Fassen Sie

die Halterung an der vorgegebenen Stelle an.

10. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Lampe nicht auf Kunststoffteile am

Terrarium oder an der Netzgitterabdeckung gerichtet ist, um Beschädigungen zu vermeiden.

Austausch der Lampe: EMPFEHLUNG: Exo Terra® SunRay-Lampe (p.39-41)

1. Halterung vom Stromnetz trennen.

2. Halterung vom Terrarium entfernen.

3. Neue Lampe hineindrehen .

4. Alte Lampe zum Recycling geben.

Wartung Achtung:

• Ziehen Sie den Stecker der Lampensteuerung und anderer

elektrischer Geräte, die mit Ihrem Terrarium, Paludarium oder

Aquaterrarium verbunden sind, bevor Sie Ihre Hände in das

Wasser tauchen bzw. irgendwelche Arbeiten durchführen.

• Überprüfen Sie stets, ob der Netzstecker gezogen ist, bevor Sie

Lampen, Exo Terra®-Halterungen oder andere Geräte installieren,

entfernen, austauschen oder warten.

• Die Netzkabel dieses Geräts können nicht ausgetauscht werden.

Ist ein Kabel beschädigt, sollte das gesamte Gerät entsorgt werden.

Reinigung

1. Bringen Sie die Lampensteuerung nicht in der Nähe von

Filterausgängen an und halten Sie Wasserspritzer und Feuchtigkeit von ihr fern. Das Gerät nicht in Wasser tauchen.

2. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Lüftungsschlitze frei liegen und nicht

mit Staub, Schmutz oder anderen Materialien bedeckt sind.

Befreien Sie die Lüftungsschlitze gegebenenfalls mit einem Tuch

von Verschmutzungen.

3. Die Exo Terra®-Halterung benötigt keine besondere Wartung

oder Pﬂege, außer einer regelmäßigen Reinigung mit einem Tuch (verwenden Sie niemals aggressive chemische Produkte oder Reinigungsmittel). Verwenden Sie zum Entfernen von

Kalkablagerungen (Lampenfassungen) eine milde Säure, wie z. B.

Essig, und wischen Sie mit einem feuchten Tuch gründlich nach, um Reste zu entfernen.

4. Halten Sie sich unbedingt an die Anweisungen und Hinweise in

den Kapiteln zur Sicherheit und Installation.

GARANTIE

Wir übernehmen die Garantie, dass dieses Produkt für die Dauer von zwei (2) Jahren ab dem Zeitpunkt des Erwerbs frei von Materialbzw. Verarbeitungsfehlern ist. Ansprüche aus dieser Garantie

können nur unter Vorlage des Kaufbelegs geltend gemacht werden.

Die Garantie ist auf die Reparatur oder den Ersatz des Gerätes beschränkt und deckt keinen mittelbaren Verlust oder Folgeschaden an belebten oder unbelebten Objekten ab. Die Garantie erstreckt

sich nicht auf die Lampe. Diese Garantie gilt nur unter den

normalen, für das Produkt zugedachten Betriebsbedingungen. Von der Garantie ausgeschlossen sind Schäden durch unsachgemäßen

Gebrauch, unsachgemäße Installation, Fahrlässigkeit, Manipulation oder Zweckentfremdung des Produkts. Ansprüche auf Reparatur oder Ersatzteile aus dieser Garantie machen Sie bitte gegenüber Ihrem Fachhändler vor Ort geltend oder schriftlich gegenüber dem

jeweiligen Kundendienst in Ihrem Land. Diese Garantie beeinträchtigt

nicht Ihre gesetzlichen Ansprüche.

RECYCLING

Das Produkt trägt die WEEE-Kennzeichnung für die getrennte Entsorgung von Elektro- und ElektronikAltgeräten und muss daher gemäß der Europäischen

Richtlinie 2002/96/EC so entsorgt werden, dass es

dem Recycling oder einer anderen umweltschonenden

El Exo Terra® SunRay Dispositivo de Iluminación con Soporte está diseñado para bombillas de halogenuros metálicos. INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD

ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar lesiones, debe tomar las precauciones básicas de seguridad al manipular el Exo Terra® Sunray, incluyendo las siguientes:

1. LEA Y SIGA LAS INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD

y todos los avisos importantes del aparato antes de usarlo. El no hacerlo puede resultar en daño al aparato.

2. ADVERTENCIA - Esta bombilla NO es a prueba de agua y DEBE

ser protegido del agua.

3. Desconecte el enchufe cualquier aparato eléctrico de la toma

de corriente cuando no este siendo utilizado, antes de poner

o quitar partes, y antes de limpiar. Nunca tire del cable para

desenchufar un aparato. Desenchúfelo tirando del enchufe.

4. Este aparato no está diseñado para ser utilizado por personas

(incluidos niños) con discapacidades físicas, sensoriales o

mentales, o falta de experiencia o conocimiento, a menos que

sean supervisados o instruidos acerca del uso del aparato por

una persona responsable de su seguridad. Los niños deben ser supervisados para asegurarse de que no jueguen con el aparato.

5. Para evitar lesiones no toque las partes calientes, permita que se

enfríen antes de manipularlas.

6. No utilice el aparato para otro uso distinto al previsto. El uso de

accesorios no recomendados o no vendidos por el fabricante puede ser inseguro.

7. La bombilla Exo Terra® SunRay emite rayos UV y fue diseñado

para usar sólo para reptiles. Debe ser operado de modo que los

humanos no estén expuestos a los rayos UV. Antes de manipular

la lámpara, y para evitar que exponerse a la luz emitida por la lámpara, apáguela y deje que se enfríe.

8. Nunca mire directamente a la lámpara.

9. No instale o guarde este aparato en cualquier lugar donde

pueda estar expuesto a la interperie o a temperaturas extremas.

10. La seguridad de este bombillo sólo está garantizada siempre

y cuando la bombilla, el adaptador y la unidad de luz estén instalados correctamente.

11. No use más de una lámpara en un soporte

12. Bombillas dañadas o bombillas que no funcionan

adecuadamente tienen que ser eliminadas de inmediato.

13. Proveer suﬁciente ventilación. Nunca cubra el bulbo o el

dispositivo de iluminación.

14. Nunca instale la bombilla cerca de objetos inﬂamables.

15. La carcasa de esta bombilla debe ser abierta sólo por personal

autorizado o por el fabricante.

16. Apague la lámpara antes de realizar cualquier operación de

mantenimiento de ningún tipo en el terrario

17. Desconecte el enchufe cualquier aparato eléctrico de la toma de

corriente cuando no este siendo utilizado, usado para terrarios, paludarios o acua-terrarios antes de colocar sus manos en el

agua, y / o realizar mantenimiento de ningún tipo.

18. Siempre que vaya a instalar, eliminar o cambiar

las bombillas asegúrese de que el dispositivo está

desenchufado.

19. Si necesita un cable de extensión, utilice un cable con

una clasiﬁcación adecuada. Un cable clasiﬁcado para

menos amperios o vatios que el aparato puede causar

sobrecalentamiento. Se debe tener cuidado de colocar el cable

de modo que no se tropiece ni se tire de él.

20.PELIGRO - Para evitar posibles choques eléctricos, se debe tener

especial cuidado. Para cada una de las siguientes situaciones, no intente repararlo usted mismo, devuelva el aparato a un centro

de servicio autorizado para ser reparado o deseche el equipo:

A. Si el aparato cae al agua, ¡NO trate de sacarlo! En primer

lugar, desconectar y volver a recuperarlo. Si los componentes eléctricos del aparato se mojan, desenchufe el aparato inmediatamente.

B. Examine cuidadosamente el aparato después de la instalación.

No se debe enchufar si hay agua en piezas que no deben

mojarse.

C. No haga funcionar ningún aparato si tiene dañado el cable o

el enchufe, o si no funciona correctamente o si se ha caído o dañado de alguna manera. El cable de alimentación de este aparato no puede ser remplazado si el cable está dañado, el aparato debe ser desechado. Nunca corte el cable.

D. Para evitar la posibilidad de que el enchufe o tomacorriente se

mojen, sitúe el aparato a un lado de una toma

de corriente para evitar que el agua gotee en

la toma de corriente o el enchufe. Deje caer una curva con el cable. Esta curva consiste en dejar parte del cable por debajo del nivel de la unidad y del enchufe, o del conector del cable

de extensión si se utiliza, para evitar que el agua

viaje a lo largo del cable y entre en contacto con el enchufe o la unidad. Si el enchufe o tomacorriente se mojan, NO desenchufe el cable.

Desconecte el fusible o el circuito que suministra energía al

aparato, a continuación, desenchufe y examine la presencia de agua en el enchufe.

• Este equipo SOLO DEBE USARSE EN INTERIORES.

• Advertencia: Desconecte el enchufe del aparato, y cualquier otro equipo eléctrico, usado para terrarios, paludarios o acua-terrarios antes de realizar cualquier operación de mantenimiento de

ningún tipo.

• Advertencia: Siempre que realice la instalación, supresión o

modiﬁcación de las bombillas Exo Terra® SunRay (o cualquier

bombilla de halogenuros metálicos) asegúrese siempre de que el

aparato está desconectado.

GUARDE ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES

Sólo el seguimiento ﬁel de estas pautas de instalación, mantenimiento y conexiones eléctricas garantizará el uso seguro y eﬁciente de este aparato. El Exo Terra® SunRay es un dispositivo de iluminación diseñado para su uso con las bombillas Exo Terra® SunRay y los Terrarios de Cristal Exo Terra®.

Instrucciones de Instalación del Dispositivo de Iluminación de Halogenuros Metálicos Exo Terra®

RECOMENDACIÓN: Utilice sólo la bombilla Exo Terra® SunRay según la potencia nominal indicada en la placa de características situada

en el Dispositivo de Iluminación que lo soporta. La radiación UV disminuye lentamente con el tiempo. Para asegurarse de que sus

animales reciban continuamente la cantidad correcta de radiación UV, se recomienda sustituir las bombillas Exo Terra® SunRay cada 12 meses. Suscríbase a nuestro programa “Restore the Rays”, en www.exo-terra.com para recibir un recordatorio cuando su Exo Terra® SunRay necesite ser remplazado.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA UNIDAD DE ILUMINACIÓN (p. 38)

1. Limpie la supercie exterior del cristal del terrario

2. Con la protección aún intacta, coloque la base de la jación

adhesiva del soporte SunRay en la parte trasera o lateral del terrario para determinar su posición ﬁnal.

3. Marque la posición con un lápiz de cera u otro marcador.

4. Retire el papel protector y coloque con cuidado la base adhesiva

del soporte dentro del área marcada.

5. Asegúrese de que la cinta se presiona uniformemente contra el

vidrio del terrario y que no queden burbujas de aire.

6. Presione los lados adhesivos ﬁrmemente contra el panel de

vidrio por lo menos 30 segundos.

7. Espere unos minutos y asegúrese de que la cinta está bien

sujeta al terrario antes de soltar el soporte.

8. Una vez en el lugar, el Soporte SunRay no debe ser movido.

9. Ajuste la altura y apriete el tornillo de la base adhesiva cuando

el Soporte Exo Terra SunRay® esté a la altura deseada. Sujete el Soporte en el punto indicado.

10. Asegúrese de que el foco luz no se coloca por encima de piezas

de plástico del terrario o la cubierta para evitar daños.

Remplazo de bombillas: RECOMENDACIÓN: Bombillas Exo Terra® SunRay (p.39-41)

1. Desconecte el aparato.

2. Retire el dispositivo de iluminación del terrario.

3. Enrosque la nueva bombilla en la unidad.

4. Reciclar. Deshágase de la lámpara utilizada de manera

responsable.

Mantenimiento Advertencia:

• Desconecte el cable de la unidad de luz, y cualquier otro equipo

eléctrico, usado para terrarios, paludarios o acua-terrario antes

de colocar sus manos en el agua, y / o realizar mantenimiento de

ningún tipo.

• Siempre que vaya a instalar, eliminar o cambiar las bombillas

o hacer mantenimiento, instalar o retirar el Dispositivo de Iluminación para Halogenuros metálicos Exo Terra® o cualquier

otro equipo, asegúrese siempre de que está desenchufado.

• El cable de suministro eléctrico de este sistema de iluminación no puede ser remplazado. Si cualquiera de los cables están dañados

toda la unidad debe ser desechada.

Limpieza de la unidad

1. No coloque la unidad de luz cerca de salidas de los ltros ni lo

exponga a salpicaduras de agua o humedad. No lo sumerja en agua.

2. Asegúrese de que las rejillas de ventilación se mantienen libres,

y libres de cualquier obstrucción, polvo y escombros. Utilice un paño para limpiar cualquier residuo que puede obstruir las

rejillas de ventilación.

3. No se requiere mantenimiento especial para el Dispositivo

de Iluminación para halogenuros metálicos Exo Terra®, con excepción de la limpieza periódica con un paño (nunca use

productos químicos fuertes o detergentes). Para eliminar los

depósitos calcáreos, se recomienda el uso de un ácido débil como el vinagre, seguido de una limpieza con un paño húmedo

para eliminar cualquier residuo.

4. Se recomienda seguir siempre todas las precauciones y los

procedimientos esbozados en las Medidas de Seguridad Importantes y las Instrucciones de Instalación.

Grazie per aver acquistato il supporto con zavorra & la lampada

Exo Terra® SunRay. Il supporto SunRay Exo Terra® con zavorra è stato concepito per contenere delle lampade halide di metallo. Vi

preghiamo di leggere attentamente queste modalità d’uso prima

dell’uso e di seguire le istruzioni date per ottenere la massima sicurezza e le massime prestazioni. Raccomandiamo di tenere

questo manuale per una futura consultazione.

Introduzione

Il supporto SunRay Exo Terra® è stato concepito per essere usato con la lampada SunRay (inclusa) e aumenta la prestazione e la

durata di qualsiasi lampada a cupola di metallo. La combinazione

del supporto SunRay Exo Terra® con la lampada Exo Terra® SunRay provvederà degli ottimi livelli di luce visibile, raggi UV e calore e

può essere usata come unica fonte luminosa. L’aspetto stilistico

del supporto si adatta ad ogni tipo di terrario e si integra in ogni ambiente. Per ottenere ottimi risultati e sicurezza, il supporto deve essere usato insieme alla lampada Exo Terra® SunRay della potenza in watt adatta.

IMPORTANTI ISTRUZIONI DI SICUREZZA

ATTENZIONE: Per evitare lesioni, bisogna osservare le precauzioni di base mentre si manipola il supporto Halide di metallo Exo Terra®

SunRay nonché quello che segue.

1. LEGGERE E SEGUIRE TUTTE LE ISTRUZIONI DI

SICUREZZA e tutti gli avvisi sul dispositivo prima dell’uso.

L’inadempienza può causare danni all’unità.

2. ATTENZIONE - Questo dispositivo NON è resistente all’acqua e

VA protetta dal contatto con l’acqua.

3. Staccare sempre il dispositivo dalla presa se non è in funzione,

prima di aggiungere o togliere delle parti, e prima di pulirlo. Non

tirare mai il cordone per rimuovere la spina dalla presa. Afferrare la spina e tirare per sconnetterla.

4. L’uso di questo dispositivo non è stato pensato per persone

(bimbi inclusi) che abbiano delle capacità sensoriali, ﬁsiche o mentali limitate o che non dispongono dell’esperienza o delle conoscenze necessarie,... salvo se una persona responsabile della loro sicurezza li abbia controllati o gli abbia dato delle istruzioni su come usare il dispositivo. I bimbi vanno controllati per assicurarsi che non giochino con il dispositivo.

5. Per evitare le ferite, non toccare gli elementi caldi. Aspettare

ﬁnché si raffredda il dispositivo prima di maneggiarlo.

6. Non usare il dispositivo per un uso diverso da quello progettato.

L’uso di accessori non raccomandati o venduti dal produttore del

dispositivo può creare una situazione insicura.

7. La lampada SunRay Exo Terra® emette dei raggi UV ed è stata

appositamente progettata per essere usata con i rettili. Va operata in modo che gli uomini non siano mai esposti ai raggi UV. Prima di maneggiare la lampada, e per evitare di esporsi alla luce emessa dalla lampada, bisogna spegnere la lampada ed aspettare ﬁnché si raffredda.

8. Mai guardare direttamente nella lampada.

9. Non installare o conservare il dispositivo in luoghi dove sarebbe

esposto alle intemperie o a temperature sotto lo zero.

10. La sicurezza di questo dispositivo è solo garantita se la lampada,

l’adattatore e l’unità luminosa sono stati correttamente installati.

11. Non usare più di una lampada con una zavorra

12. Le lampade danneggiate o le lampade che non funzionano

correttamente devono subito essere rimosse.

13. Assicurare una ventilazione sufﬁciente. Mai coprire la lampada o

la zavorra.

14. Mai installare la lampada vicino a degli oggetti inﬁammabili.

15. L’alloggiamento di questa lampada può solo essere aperta dal

personale autorizzato o dal produttore.

16. Spegnere la lampada prima di eseguire qualsiasi manutenzione

di qualunque natura nel terrario.

17. Sconnettere la presa dell’unità luminosa e ogni altro dispositivo

elettrico usato per il terrario, paludario o terrario acquatico prima di mettere le mani nell’acqua; e/o di eseguire qualsiasi manutenzione di qualunque natura.

18. Quando si installano, rimuovono, cambiano o si riparano delle

lampade, bisogna assicurarsi sempre che non sono connesse alla rete elettrica.

19. Se è necessaria una prolunga, va usato un cordone di tipo

adatto. Un cordone con una classe di ampere o di watt minore della classe del dispositivo può provocare il surriscaldamento. Bisogna mettere il cordone in modo che non faccia inciampare nessuno o non venga tirato via.

20. PERICOLO – Per evitare un’eventuale scossa elettrica, bisogna

essere molto attenti. Per ogni situazione seguente, non provare a riparare il dispositivo, ma renderlo ad un servizio autorizzato di assistenza tecnica per ripararlo o per eliminarlo.

A. Se il dispositivo cade nell’acqua, NON afferrarlo! Togliere prima

la spina e poi prenderlo. Se gli elementi elettrici del dispositivo si bagnano, togliere subito la spina.

B. Esaminare minuziosamente il dispositivo dopo l’installazione.

Non può essere connesso alla rete elettrica se si trova dell’acqua

su degli elementi che non si possono bagnare.

C. Non operare alcun dispositivo se presenta un cordone o una

spina danneggiati, o se funziona male, o se è caduto, o è stato

danneggiato in qualunque modo. Il cordone di questo dispositivo

non può essere sostituito: se il cordone è danneggiato, il dispositivo deve essere eliminato. Non tagliare mai il cordone.

D. Per evitare che la spina del dispositivo o la presa

elettrica si bagnino, posizionare il dispositivo ad un lato della presa montata sulla parete

per evitare che l’acqua sgoccioli sulla spina

o sulla presa. Bisogna sistemare una “ linea

salvagocce”. L’anello salvagoccia è quella parte

del cordone sotto il livello dell’unità e della presa o del connettore se è stata usata una prolunga, che impedisce lo spostamento

dell’acqua lungo il cordone ed evita che entri

in contatto con la presa o con l’unità luminosa. Se la spina o la presa si bagnano, NON STACCARE il cordone. Sconnettere il fusibile o l’interruttore di circuito che alimenta il dispositivo, poi

staccare la spina e controllare la presenza d’acqua nella presa.

• Questo dispositivo E’ SOLO PER USO INTERNO.

• Attenzione: Sconnettere la presa dell’unità luminosa e qualsiasi

altro dispositivo elettrico usato per il terrario, paludario o terrario

acquatico prima di mettere le mani nell’acqua e/o di eseguire qualsiasi manutenzione di qualunque tipo.

• Attenzione: Quando si installano, rimuovono, cambiano o si

riparano delle lampade Exo Terra® SunRay (o qualsiasi altra lampada halide di metallo) bisogna assicurarsi sempre che il supporto non sia connesso alla rete elettrica.

CONSERVARE QUESTE ISTRUZIONI.

Solo la stretta osservanza di queste istruzioni per l’installazione,

l’elettricità e la manutenzione assicurerà un uso sicuro e efﬁcace del presente dispositivo. Il Terra® SunRay è un supporto concepito per l’uso con le lampade Exo Terra® SunRay ed i terrari di vetro Exo Terra®.

Istruzioni per l’installazione del supporto Halide di metallo Exo Terra®

CONSIGLIO: Usare solo le lampade Exo-Terra® SunRay secondo

la potenza in watt indicata sull’etichetta dei dati elettrici sul

supporto. La radiazione UV diminuisce gradualmente con il tempo. Per garantire che gli animali ricevono in continuazione la quantità

corretta di raggi UV, raccomandiamo di sostituire le lampade Exo Terra® SunRay ogni 12 mesi. Iscriversi su www.exo-terra.com al

programma per “ripristinare i raggi”. In questo modo si riceverà un messaggio quando bisognerà sostituire la lampada Exo Terra

SunRay.

INSTALLAZIONE DELL’UNITÀ LUMINOSA (p. 38)

1. Pulire la superﬁcie esterna del vetro del terrario.

2. Con lo strato protettivo intatto, posizionare la base adesiva

per il supporto SunRay sul retro o su un lato del terrario per determinare la sua posizione ﬁnale.

3. Segnare la posizione con una matita di cera o un altro pennarello

4. Rimuovere lo strato protettivo e inserire il supporto del

portalampada nell’area segnata.

5. Assicurarsi che il nastro sia regolarmente premuto contro il vetro

del terrario e che non si veda alcuna bolla d’aria

6. Premere le parti adesive energicamente contro il pannello di

vetro per almeno 30 secondi.

7. Aspettare qualche attimo ed assicurarsi che il nastro sia

saldamente ﬁssato al terrario prima di rilasciare il supporto

8. Una volta posizionato, non rimuovere il supporto SunRay.

9. Aggiustare l’altezza e avvitare la vite del supporto della base

adesiva quando l’Exo Terra supporto SunRay® è sospeso sopra

il terrario all’altezza desiderata. Afferrare il supporto al punto indicato.

10. Assicurarsi che il punto focale della luce non sia posizionato su

qualunque parte di plastica del terrario e del coperchio dello

schermo per evitare danni.

Sostituzione delle lampade: CONSIGLIO: Lampada Exo Terra® SunRay (p.39-41)

1. Staccare il supporto

2. Rimuovere il supporto dal terrario

3. Avvitare la nuova lampada nell’unità.

4. Riciclare. Smaltire la lampada usata in modo ragionato

Manutenzione Attenzione:

• Sconnettere la presa di questa unità luminosa e ogni altro

dispositivo elettrico usato per il terrario, paludario o terrario

acquatico prima di mettere le mani nell’acqua e/o di eseguire qualsiasi manutenzione di qualunque natura.

• Quando si installano, rimuovono o cambiano delle lampade, o

si mantiene, installa o rimuove il supporto Exo Terra® Halide di

metallo o qualunque altra attrezzatura, bisogna sempre assicurarsi

che non siano connesse alla rete elettrica.

• I cavi d’alimentazione elettrica di questo sistema luminoso non possono essere sostituiti. Se qualsiasi cavo fosse danneggiato,

bisogna buttar via tutta l’unità.

Pulire l’unità

1. Non mettere l’alloggiamento dell’unità luminosa vicino alle uscite

del ltro o esporla a spruzzi d’acqua o all’umidità. Non immergere in acqua.

2. Assicurarsi che i fori di ventilazione del calore siano liberi e tenuti

liberi da qualsiasi otturazione, polvere o detriti. Usare uno straccio

per eliminare tutti i detriti che potrebbero otturare i fori della ventilazione del calore.

3. Il supporto Exo Terra® Halide di metallo non richiede nessuna manutenzione speciale. Basta pulirlo regolarmente con uno

straccio (mai usare dei prodotti chimici o detergenti). Per rimuovere dei depositi calcarei (portalampade), è consigliabile usare un acido delicato come l’aceto per poi stroﬁnare tutto con uno straccio umido per rimuovere ogni residuo.

Armatuur voor Metaaldamplampen met Ballast en Lamp

Gebruiksaanwijzing

Bedankt voor uw aankoop van de Exo Terra® SunRay Armatuur met ballast en lamp. De Exo Terra® SunRay Armatuur werd ontworpen

voor metaaldamplampen. Lees voor het gebruik aandachtig deze

gebruiksaanwijzing en volg alle instructies voor maximale veiligheid en prestaties. Wij raden u aan deze handleiding te bewaren als naslagwerk.

Inleiding

De Exo Terra® SunRay Fixture werd ontwikkeld voor gebruik met de Exo Terra® SunRay bulb (inbegrepen) en verhoogt de prestatie en levensduur van eender welke metaaldamplamp. De combinatie van de Exo Terra® SunRay Armatuur met de Exo Terra® SunRay lamp zal optimale niveaus van zichtbaar licht, UV en warmte leveren en kan gebruikt worden als enige lichtbron. Het stijlvolle ontwerp van de Armatuur past bij elke type terrarium en integreert perfect in iedere woonkamer. Om optimale resultaten te bekomen en uw veiligheid te garanderen wordt de armatuur best gebruikt in combinatie met een Exo Terra® Sunray Lamp van het geschikte wattage.

De armatuur is verkrijgbaar in 3 soorten:

PT2315 Exo Terra® SunRay Metal Halide Armatuur en Ballast 35W (35W SunRay Bulb PT2326 inbegrepen)

PT2320 Exo Terra® SunRay Metal Halide Armatuur en Ballast 50W (50W SunRay Bulb PT2327 inbegrepen)

INSTRUCTIES MET BETREKKING TOT HET RISICO VAN BRAND, ELEKTRISCHE SCHOK OF PERSOONLIJKE KWESTUREN.

BELANGRIJKE VEILIGHEIDSVOORSCHRIFTEN

WAARSCHUWING: Om u te beschermen tegen verwondingen, dienen minimale voorzorgsmaatregelen in acht te worden genomen wanneer er gebruik gemaakt wordt van de Exo Terra® Sunray Armatuur, met inbegrip van het volgende:

1. LEES EN VOLG ALLE VEILIGHEIDS-

VOORSCHRIFTEN en alle belangrijke aantekeningen op het

toestel voor gebruik. Als u nalaat dit te doen, kan dit resulteren in schade aan het toestel.

2. WAARSCHUWING - Dit toestel is NIET waterbestendig en mag

dus NIET in contact komt met water.

3. Verwijder steeds de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer het

toestel niet in gebruik is, alvorens onderdelen bij te voegen of weg te nemen en om het toestel te reinigen. Trek nooit aan het snoer om de stekker uit de contactdoos te trekken. Grijp de stekker en trek om het toestel los te koppelen.

4. Dit toestel is niet bedoeld voor het gebruik door personen

(kinderen inbegrepen) met beduidend verminderde fysieke of mentale bekwaamheden, te weinig kennis of ervaring, tenzij een persoon die verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid hen begeleidt en informeert aangaande het gebruik van dit toestel. Kinderen moeten ten allen tijde begeleid worden om er zeker van te zijn dat ze niet met het toestel kunnen spelen.

5. Om ongevallen te vermijden, geen hete delen aanraken. Laat het

toestel afkoelen vooraleer het te manipuleren.

6. Gebruik het toestel alleen waarvoor het is voorzien. Het gebruik

van toebehoren die niet aanbevolen of verkocht worden door de fabrikant van de lamp kan tot een onveilige situatie leiden.

7. De Exo Terra® SunRay lamp straalt UV uit en werd ontworpen

om uitsluitend te worden gebruikt voor reptielen. De lamp dient zo gebruikt te worden dat mensen op geen enkele manier blootgesteld kunnen worden aan de UV-straling. Alvorens de lamp te hanteren, en om te vermijden dat u blootgesteld zou worden aan UV-stralen, schakelt u de lamp uit, en laat u deze afkoelen. Gebruik de lamp steeds in een speciaal voor Metaldamplampen ontworpen lampenscherm om te vermijden dat u blootgesteld word aan UV-straling.

8. Kijk nooit rechtstreeks in de lamp

9. Het toestel niet opbergen of installeren waar het blootgesteld is

aan weersomstandigheden en temperaturen onder het vriespunt.

10. De veiligheid van dit toestel is alleen gegarandeerd als

de lampen, adapters en armatuur op de juiste manier zijn geïnstalleerd.

11. Gebruik niet meer dan één lamp per adapter.

12. Beschadigde lampen of lampen die niet naar behoren

functioneren moeten onmiddellijk verwijderd worden.

13. Voorzie voldoende ventilatie. Bedek nooit de lamp of de adapter.

14. Installeer de lamp nooit in de buurt van brandbare objecten.

15. De behuizing van de lamp mag alleen geopend worden door

geautoriseerd personeel of door de fabrikant.

16. Schakel de lamp uit vooraleer u onderhoud of andere taken

uitvoert in het terrarium.

17. Verwijder de stekker van het toestel uit het stopcontact alsook

van alle andere elektrische apparaten gebruikt in het terrarium,

paludarium of aqua-terrarium, alvorens je handen in het water te steken; en/of onderhoud of andere taken aan het terrarium

uit te voeren.

18. Bij installatie, verwijderen, onderhoud of vervangen van lampen

steeds de stekker uit het stopcontact verwijderen.

19. Indien er een verlengsnoer nodig is, controleer dan of deze

geschikt is voor gebruik met het toestel. Een snoer met dezelfde eigenschappen als het originele dient te worden gebruikt. Een snoer dat slechts een vermogen toelaat voor minder ampère of een lagere wattage dan het vermogen van het toestel kan

oververhitten. Let erop dat het snoer zo bevestigd wordt, dat er

niet kan over gestruikeld worden of aan getrokken.

20. GEVAAR – Om eventuele elektrische schokken te voorkomen,

dient u extra voorzichtig zijn. In elk van de volgende situaties

mag u zelf niet proberen het toestel te repareren; breng het

toestel naar een gemachtigde dienst ter herstelling of stel het buiten gebruik.

A. Valt het toestel in het water, grijp er NIET naar! Trek eerst de

stekker uit en neem het dan uit het water. Zijn er elektrische onderdelen nat geworden, trek onmiddellijk de stekker uit.

B. Onderzoek het toestel grondig na installatie. Indien er onderdelen

nat geworden zijn die hiervoor niet bestemd zijn, mag het toestel niet op het elektriciteitsnet aangesloten zijn.

C. Sluit geen toestel aan waarvan het elektrische snoer of stekker

beschadigd is of wanneer het toestel slecht werkt, beschadigd of gevallen is op gelijk welke wijze. Het elektrische snoer mag niet vervangen worden: indien het snoer beschadigd is moet het apparaat buiten gebruik gesteld worden. Knip het snoer nooit door.

D. Om te vermijden dat de stekker van het toestel

of het elektrische stopcontact nat wordt, plaats het apparaat aan één kant van een aan de muur bevestigd stopcontact, zodat er geen water druppelt op de contactdoos of de stekker. Breng een “druppellus” aan. De “druppellus” is het gedeelte van het snoer onder het niveau van de contactdoos, of het verbindingsstuk als een verlengingssnoer wordt gebruikt, zodat er geen water langs het snoer kan lopen en in contact kan komen met de contactdoos of het verlichtingstoestel. Als de stekker of de contactdoos nat worden, TREK het snoer dan NIET UIT. Schakel de zekering of stroomverliesschakelaar uit die stroom levert aan uw toestel. Trek daarna de stekker uit en kijk na of er water in de contactdoos zit.

• Het toestel is UITSLUITEND GESCHIKT VOOR GEBRUIK

BINNENSHUIS.

• Waarschuwing: Trek steeds de stekker van het lichtarmatuur,

en van alle andere elektrische apparaten van het terrarium,

paludarium of aqua-terrarium, uit het stopcontact alvorens

onderhoud of andere taken aan het terrarium uit te voeren.

• Waarschuwing: Bij installatie, verwijderen of vervangen

van Exo Terra® SunRay lampen (of gelijk welke andere metaaldamplamp) verzeker u er steeds van dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is verwijderd.

BEWAAR DEZE INSTRUCTIES ALS NASLAGWERK.

Alleen het zorgvuldig opvolgen van deze installatie-, elektrische en onderhoudsrichtlijnen garanderen de veilige en efﬁciënte werking van het toestel.

De Exo Terra® SunRay is een armatuur die werd ontworpen voor gebruik met de Exo Terra® SunRay lampen en de Exo Terra® Glass Terrariums.

Exo Terra® Metal Halide Fixture Installatie

AANBEVELING: Gebruik uitsluitend Exo-Terra® SunRay Lampen

met het juiste wattage, vermeld op het electriciteits-label op het armatuur. De UV straling vermindert langzaam mettertijd. Om te verzekeren dat uw dieren steeds de juiste hoeveelheid UV krijgen, raden wij aan om de Exo Terra® SunRay lampen elke 12 maanden te vervangen. Schrijf je in op ons “Restore the Rays” programma op www.exo-terra.com om een herinnering te krijgen wanneer uw Exo Terra® SunRay lamp moet worden vervangen.

INSTALLATIE VAN HET VERLICHTINGSTOESTEL (p. 38)

1. Reinig de buitenkant van het glazen terrarium.

2. Plaats de bevestigingssteun (zonder de beschermfolie te

verwijderen) tegen de achter- of zijkant van het terrarium, en bepaal de juiste positie.

3. Markeer de positie met een markeerstift.

4. Verwijder de beschermfolie en plaats de bevestigingssteun

binnen het gemarkeerde gebied.

5. Zorg ervoor dat de kleefband gelijkmatig tegen de terrariumwand

is gedrukt en dat er geen luchtbellen zichtbaar zijn.

6. Druk de zelfklevende zijden stevig tegen de glazen wand voor

tenminste 30 seconden.

7. Wacht enkele minuten en controleer of de kleefband stevig

gehecht is aan het terrarium alvorens het armatuur op te hangen.

8. Eens bevestigd mag de SunRay Armatuur niet worden verwijderd.

9. Verstel in hoogte en draai het schroefje van de zelfklevende

bevestigingssteun aan wannneer de Exo Terra SunRay® Armatuur op de gewenste hoogte boven het terrarium hangt. Houd de armatuur vast bij het aangegeven punt.

10. Om beschadiging te voorkomen, dient u er zich van te verzekeren

dat het lichtbrandpunt zich niet boven enig plastic onderdeel van het terrarium of de screen cover bevindt.

Vervanging van de lamp: AANBEVELING: Exo Terra® SunRay lamp (p.39-41)

1. Verwijder de stekker van het armatuur uit het stopcontact

2. Draai de armatuur weg van het terrarium

3. Schroef de nieuwe lamp in het toestel

4. Recycleer. Verwijder de lamp op verantwoorde wijze

Onderhoud Waarschuwing:

• Trek steeds de stekker van het lichtarmatuur, en van alle andere elektrische apparaten van het terrarium, paludarium of aqua-

terrarium, uit het stopcontact alvorens uw handen in het water te steken en/of onderhoud of andere taken aan het terrarium uit te voeren.

• Bij installatie, verwijderen, vervangen van lampen of onderhoud,

installatie of verwijderen van de Exo Terra® Armatuur voor Metaaldamplampen of enig ander toestel, verzeker u er steeds van dat de stekker uit het stopcontact is verwijderd.

• De elektrische toevoersnoeren van dit verlichtingsysteem kunnen

niet vervangen worden. Als één van de snoeren beschadigd is moet het hele toestel buiten gebruik gesteld worden

Reinigen van het apparaat

1. Plaats het verlichtingstoestel niet in de buurt van ﬁlteruitgangen

en stel het niet bloot aan sproeiwater of vochtigheid. Dompel het toestel niet onder in water.

2. Houd de ventilatiegaten vrij van obstructie, stof en vuil. Gebruik een doek om vuil te verwijderen zodat de ventilatiegaten niet verstoppen.

3. Speciaal onderhoud is niet noodzakelijk voor de Exo Terra® SunRay Armatuur voor Metaaldamplampen, behalve het regelmatig schoonmaken met een doek (gebruik nooit chemicaliën of detergenten). Om kalkaanslag te verwijderen (lamphouders) gebruikt men best een zurige oplossing zoals azijn. Daarna met een doek schoonvegen om eventuele restanten te verwijderen.

4. Het is sterk aanbevolen altijd de richtlijnen en waarschuwingen te

volgen vermeld bij de secties belangrijke veiligheidsvoorschriften en installatie.

GARANTIE

Dit product is gegarandeerd voor een periode van 2 jaar, op materiaaldefecten en fabricagefouten, vanaf de dag van aankoop. De garantie is alleen geldig op vertoon van het gedateerde aankoopbewijs. De garantie is beperkt tot het herstellen of vervangen van het toestel en dekt niet de eventuele schade aan verwante objecten of dieren. Deze garantie geldt niet voor de lamp. Deze garantie is enkel geldig bij normaal gebruik van het toestel waarvoor het is bestemd. De garantie vervalt bij onredelijk gebruik, slechte installatie, verwaarlozing, modiﬁcatie of misbruik. Voor garantie of wisselstukken, contacteer uw lokale Exo Terra verdeler of schrijf naar de vertegenwoordiger in uw land.

RECYCLAGE

Dit item is voorzien van het selectief sorteren symbool voor afgedankte elektronische en elektrische apparatuur (WEEE). Dit betekent dat het product moet worden behandeld overeenkomstig de Europese Richtlijn

2002/96/EC om te worden gerecycleerd of ontmanteld

om het effect op het milieu te minimaliseren. Voor meer informatie kunt u contact opnemen met uw lokale of regionale overheden. Elektronische producten die niet zijn opgenomen in het selectief sorteren proces zijn potentieel gevaarlijk voor het milieu en de menselijke gezondheid ten gevolge van de aanwezigheid van
