POWER SOURCES

1. Rechargeable battery pack (included).

2. Solar power adapter.

CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK

• Turn the crank for about 90 seconds. This will result in

30-40 minutes of low volume play.

• Place the unit directly in sunlight. The solar power adapter

on the top of the unit charges it automatically. About
8-10 hours in the sun will allow about 3-5 hours of play.

CELL PHONE CRANK CHARGING

Because cell phone batteries vary in their current ratings,
we cannot specify charging rates or usage time. 10 to 15
minutes of cranking may result in 1 or more minutes of
talk-time.

1. Set POWER/VOLUME control to OFF position.

2. Select CELL with the slide switch.

3. Plug the cell phone charging cord into the USB Phone

Charge socket.

4. Plug other end of your USB socket into the cell phone’s

charging socket.

5. Rotate the dynamo crank about 2 turns per second.

NOTE: When charging a cell phone via the USB cell
phone charger, it is important to turn the crank at least 2
revolutions per second, or until you see the green or orange
LED above the crank handle turn on. This is an indication
that the phone is receiving enough power from the radio.
Continue to crank at this rate until you are satised that an
appropriate level of charge has been received by your cell
phone. If you decide to stop cranking for whatever reason,
please wait at least 5 seconds before beginning to crank
again. Not following these instructions may cause damage to
your cell phone for which Eton disclaims any liability and will
not be held liable for any actual or consequential damages
related to this matter.

TURNING THE RADIO ON AND OFF

Turn it on with the ON/OFF/VOLUME control.
To turn it off, set the ON/OFF/VOLUME control to OFF.

ADJUSTING THE VOLUME

Set VOLUME control to the desired level.

TUNING-IN STATIONS

1. Select AM, FM or SW (shortwave). For FM and SW, fully

extend the telescopic antenna. When using only AM the
antenna need not be extended.

2. Adjust the volume with the VOLUME control.

3. Tune stations with the TUNE knob.

SHORTWAVE LISTENING

Shortwave enables listening to broadcasts over vast
distances including other countries and continents. The
following information will help you get the best results.

• During the day, frequencies above 13 MHz are usually best.

• At night, frequencies below 13 MHz are usually best.

• Around sunset and sunrise, the entire shortwave range

may be good.
Getting very close to a window and holding the radio
improves shortwave reception.

To learn about shortwave we recommend the two
publications below, published yearly and available from major
booksellers. Additionally, the Internet is a great resource for
learning about shortwave.

USING THE LIGHT

Turn on the light on and off with the light switch on the
top of the unit.

EARPHONE JACK

Plug in earphones (not included). Sound is heard from both
sides in monaural.

To obtain service for your product, we recommend rst
contacting an Etón service representative at 800-872-2228
US, 800-637-1648 Canada or [phone] for problem
determination and trouble-shooting. If further service is
required, the technical staff will instruct how to proceed
based on whether the radio is still under warranty or needs
non-warranty service.

WARRANTY – If your product is still in warranty and the
Etón service representative determines that warranty
service is needed, a return authorization will be issued and
instructions for shipment to an authorized warranty repair
facility. Do Not ship your radio back without obtaining the
return authorization number.

NON-WARRANTY – If your product is no longer under
warranty and requires service our technical staff will refer
you to the nearest repair facility that will be able to best
handle the repair.

For service outside of North America, please refer to the
distributor information included at time of purchase/receipt.

SOURCE D’ALIMENTATION

1. Block-pile rechargeable (fourni).

2. Adaptateur chargeur solaire.

CHARGEMENT DU PACK BATTERIE

• Tournez la manivelle pendant environ 90 secondes. Cela va

amener 30 à 40 minutes de fonctionnement à bas volume.

• Mettez l’appareil directement au soleil. L’adaptateur

d’énergie solaire placé sur le dessus de l’appareil charge

CHERGEMENT PAR MANIVELLE DE
TÉLÉPHONE PORTABLE

Du fait que les batteries de téléphone portable varient dans leur
ampérage, nous ne pouvons pas spécier les débits de charge
ou temps d’utilisation. 10 à 15 minutes de manivelle peuvent
conduire à 1 ou plusieurs minutes de durée d’appel.

1. Mettez la commande POWER/VOLUME sur la position OFF

(éteint).

2. Sélectionnez CELL avec l’interrupteur.

3. Branchez le cordon de chargement de téléphone portable

dans la prise de chargement de téléphone USB.

4. Branchez l’autre extrémité de votre prise USB dans la prise de

chargement du téléphone portable.

5. Tournez la manivelle dynamo environ de 2 tours par seconde.

REMARQUE: Lors du chargement d’un téléphone portable
via le chargeur de téléphone portable USB, il est important de
tourner la manivelle d’au moins 2 tours par seconde, ou jusqu’à
ce que vous voyez un voyant vert ou orange au dessus de la
manivelle s’allumer. C’est une indication que le téléphone reçoit
assez de puissance de la radio. Continuez à tourner la manivelle
à cette vitesse jusqu’à ce que vous pensez qu’un niveau de
charge approprié a été reçu par votre téléphone portable. Si
vous décidez d’arrêter la manivelle pour toute raison, veuillez
attendre au moins 5 secondes avant de recommencer à tourner
la manivelle . Ne pas suivre ces instructions peut endommager
votre téléphone portable pour lequel Eton se dégage de toute
responsabilité et ne sera pas tenu responsable pour tout dom­mage réel ou consécutif en la matière.

MISE EN MARCHE/ARRÊT DE LA RADIO

Allumez la avec la commande ON/OFF/VOLUME.
Pour l’éteindre, mettez la commande ON/OFF/VOLUME sur OFF.

RÉGLAGE DU VOLUME

Mettez la commande du VOLUME sur le niveau souhaité.

SYNTONISATION DE STATIONS

1. Sélectionnez la bande AM, FM ou SW (ondes courtes). Pour

la FM et SW (OC), dépliez entièrement l’antenne télescopique.
Lors de l’utilisation seule de l’AM l’antenne n’a pas besoin
d’être dépliée.

2. Réglez le volume avec la commande VOLUME.

3. Syntonisez les stations avec la molette TUNE (syntonisation).

ÉCOUTE DES ONDES COURTES

Les ondes courtes permettent d’écouter des émissions sur de
grandes distances incluant d’autres pays et d’autres continents.
Les informations suivantes vous aideront à obtenir les meilleurs
résultats.

• Durant le jour, les fréquences au dessus de 13 MHz sont

généralement meilleures.

• Dans la nuit, les fréquences en dessous de 13 MHz sont

généralement meilleures.

• Au coucher ou lever du soleil, la gamme complète des ondes

courtes peut être bonne.
Rapprochez-vous très près d’une fenêtre et tenez votre radio
pour améliorer la réception des ondes courtes.

ainsi que les instructions pour l’expédition à un atelier agréé

ATENCIÓN

FUENTES DE ALIMENTACIÓN

CARGA DEL PAQUETE DE BATERIAS

• Gire la manivela durante 90 segundos. Esto resultará de 30 a

40 minutos de reproducción a bajo volumen.

• Ubique la radio directamente bajo la luz solar. El adaptador de

alimentación en la parte superior de la unidad carga

automáticamente. Después de 8 a 10 horas bajo el sol le

CARGA DE UN TELÉFONO MOVIL GIRANDO
LA MANIVELA

Ya que las baterías de los teléfonos móviles tienen corrientes
diferentes, no podemos especicar velocidades de carga o
tiempos de funcionamiento. Después de 10 a 15 minutos de
girar la manivela se podría efectuar una llamada de uno o más
minutos al aire.

1. Ajuste el control POWER/VOLUME (Encendido/volumen) a la

posición OFF (Apagado).

2. Seleccione CELL (Celda) con el interruptor deslizable.

3. Conecte el cable de carga del teléfono móvil en el sócalo USB

para la carga de teléfonos móviles.

4. Conecte la otra punta en el enchufe de carga del teléfono

móvil.

5. Gire la manivela de la dínamo a 2 giros por segundo.

NOTA: Al cargar un teléfono móvil usando el cargador para
teléfonos móviles USB, es importante girar la manivela al
menos a 2 revoluciones por segundo, o hasta que el LED sobre
la manivela ilumine verde o naranja. Esto indica que el teléfono
está recibiendo de la radio suciente alimentación. Continúe
girando la manivela a esta velocidad hasta su teléfono móvil
haya recibido un nivel apropiado de carga. Si decide detenerse
por cualquier razón, espere por lo menos 5 segundos antes

ENCENDIDO Y APAGADO DE LA RADIO

Enciéndalo con el control ON/OFF/VOLUME (encendido/apagado/
volumen).
Apáguelo, ajustando el control ON/OFF/VOLUME a la posición
OFF (apagado).

AJUSTE DEL VOLUMEN

Ajuste el control VOLUME (volumen) al nivel deseado.

SINTONIZACIÓN DE EMISORAS

1. Seleccione AM, FM o SW (onda corta). Para FM y SW, extienda
por completo la antena telescópica. Cuando use AM solamente,
la antena no necesita ser extendida.

2. Ajuste el volumen con el control VOLUME.

3. Sintonice las emisoras con el botón TUNE.

ESCUCHAR ONDA CORTA

La onda corta permite el escuchar transmisiones a gran distancia
incluso sobre países y continentes. La siguiente información le
ayudará a obtener los mejores resultados.

• Durante el día, las frecuencias sobre 13 MHz son generalmente

mejores.

• En la noche, las frecuencias bajo 13 MHz son generalmente

mejores.

• Durante el amanecer y atardecer, todas las frecuencias de

onda corta pueden ser buenas.
El acercarse a una ventana y sostener la radio con su mano
mejora la recepción de onda corta.

STROMVERSORGUNG

AKKUS AUFLADEN

• Die Handkurbel 90 Sekunden lang drehen. Etwa 30-40
Minuten Wiedergabe bei niedriger Lautstärke.

• Gerät ins Sonnenlicht stellen. Die Solarzellen oben auf dem
Gerät laden es auf. 8-10 Stunden Sonne ergeben 3-5 Stunden
Wiedergabe.

HANDY AUFLADEN MIT HANDKURBEL

Da Handyakkus sehr voneinander in ihrer Ladung und
Leistungen abweichen, sind genauere Ladezeiten oder zur
Betriebsdauer nicht möglich. 10 bis 15 Minuten Drehen mit der
Handkurbel ergibt 1 oder mehr Minuten Redezeit.

1. Den POWER/VOLUME Schalter auf AUS stellen.

2. Mit dem Schiebeschalter CELL auswählen.

3. Das Handyladekabel in die USB Handyladebuchse stecken.

4. Das andere Ende des USB Steckers mit der Ladebuchse des

Handys verbinden.

5. Die Dynamo-Handkurbel mit etwa 2 Umdrehungen pro

Sekunden drehen.

HINWEIS: wenn ein Handy mit dem USB handyladegerät
aufgeladen werden soll, ist es wichtig zu beachten, das die
Handkurbel nicht schneller als 2 Umdrehungen pro Sekunde
gedreht wird oder bis eine grüne oder orangefarbene LED über
der Handkurbel leuchtet. Dies zeigt an, dass das Mobiltelefon
vom Radio genügend mit Strom versorgt wird. Setzen Sie die
Umdrehungsgeschwindigkeit in diesem Tempo fort bis Ihr
Handy angemessen aufgeladen ist. Wenn Sie zwischendurch
eine Pause beim Kurbeln einlegen, zuerst 5 Sekunden warten,
bevor Sie weiterkurbeln. Wenn Sie diesen Anweisungen nicht
beachten, kann Ihr Handy beschädigt werden. Etón übernimmt in
diesem Falle keine Haftung und kann auch nicht für eventuelle
Schäden oder Folgeschäden an Ihrem Handy haftbar gemacht

werden.

Mit dem ON/OFF/VOLUME Schalter einschalten.
Den ON/OFF/VOLUME Schalter auf AUS stellen.

LAUTSTÄRKE EINSTELLEN

Den VOLUME Regler wie gewünscht einstellen.

SENDER EINSTELLEN

1. MW, UKW oder KW (Kurzwelle) auswählen. Bei UKW und KW

die Teleskopantenne ganz ausziehen. Bei MW braucht die
Antenne nicht ausgezogen zu sein.

2. Die Lautstärke mit dem VOLUME Regler einstellen.

3. Sender mit dem TUNE Regler suchen.

HÖREN ÜBER KURZWELLE

Mit Kurzwelle können Sie Rundfunksendungen über große
Entfernungen international und interkontinental empfangen.
Folgende Informationen sorgen für beste Empfangsresultate.

• Tagsüber sind Frequenzen über 13 MHz am günstigsten.

• Nachts sind Frequenzen unter 13 MHz am günstigsten.

• Bei Sonnenaufgang und –untergang ist der gesamte
Kurzwellenbereich gut.

Stehen Sie nahe beim Fenster und halten Sie das Radio hoch ­das verbessert den Kurzwellenempfang.

ALIMENTAZIONE

1. Batteria ricaricabile (inclusa).

2. Alimentatore a luce solare.

CARICA DELLA BATTERIA

• Girare la manopola per circa 90 secondi. In questo modo si avrà
una carica pari a circa 30-40 minuti.

• Posizionare l’unità alla luce del sole. L’alimentatore solare
sulla parte superiore dell’apparecchio inizierà a ricarsi
automaticamente. Dopo 8-10 ore al sole, l’apparecchio potrà
garantire circa 3-5 ore di gioco.

RICARICA MANUALE TELEFONO

Siccome la carica della batteria di un cellulare varia, non è
possibile specicare il tempo garantito di utilizzo della stessa
dopo la ricarica. In linea di massima possiamo dichiarare che una
ricarica manuale di circa 10-15 minuti può garantire 1 minuto o
poco più di conversazione.

1. Posizionare su OFF il bottone POWER/VOLUME.

2. Selezionare CELL con l’interruttore di blocco.

3. Collegare il cavo di ricarica del cellulare nella presa USB Phone

Charge.

4. Collegare l’altra estremità USB nella presa del cellulare

5. Rotare la manovella facendole compiere circa 2 giri al secondo

IMPORTANTE: quando si ricarica un telefono cellulare
tramite il cavo USB, è importante girare la manovella facendole
compiere almeno 2 giri al secondo, o no a quando il LED verde
o arancione sopra la manovella non si accende. La spia indica
che il telefono è carico abbastanza da poter ricevere il segnale.
Continuare a girare la manovella a questo ritmo no a quando
non si ritenga il cellulare abbastanza carico da poter essere
utilizzato correttamente. Se si decide di interrompere la ricarica,
allora attendere almeno 5 secondi prima di iniziare nuovamente
a girare la manovella. Non seguire pedissequamente queste
istruzioni può causare danni al telefono cellulare e per
questi danni Eton declina ogni responsabilità e non si ritiene
responsabile per qualsiasi danno reale e/o consequenziale
dovuto a queste mancanze.

ACCENDERE E SPEGNERE LA RADIO

Accendere la radio utilizzando il tasto ON/OFF/VOLUME
Accendere la radio utilizzando il tasto ON/OFF/VOLUME e
posizionarsi su OFF.

SISTEMARE IL VOLUME

Utilizzare il tasto VOLUME per aggiustare il volume
dell’apparecchio al livello desiderato.

RICERCA STAZIONI RADIO

1. Selezionare AM, FM or SW (bassa frequenza). Per avviare la

ricerca di stazioni FM w SW, estendere al massimo l’antenna
telescopica dell’apaprecchio. Per la ricerca di stazioni AM
l’antenna non deve essere estesa.

2. Utilizzare il tasto VOLUME per aggiustare il volume

dell’apparecchio al livello desiderato.

3. Sintonizzare le stazioni utilizzando la manopola

ASCOLTO IN BASSA FREQUENZA

L’ascolto in bassa frequenza permette di ascoltare contenuti
anche da grandi distanze. Seguire queste indicazioni permetterà
di ottenere i migliori risultati.

• Nel corso della giornata, le frequenze al di sotto dei 13 MHz
sono le migliori.

• Nel corso della notte, le frequenze al di sopra dei 13 MHz sono
le migliori.

• Al tramonto e all’alba, è possibile utilizzare entrambe le
frequenze allo stesso modo.

La vicinanza dell’apparecchio ad una nestra migliora la ricezione
in bassa frequenza.

Per ulteriori informazioni sulla bassa frequenza si consiglia la
lettura di due pubblicazioni disponibili annualmente nelle grandi
librerie. Inoltre, è bene trovare informazioni anche su Internet.
