INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing our essentials hotplate. Each unit has been manufactured to ensure safety,
reliability and ease of use. Before use, please read these instructions carefully and keep safely for future
reference.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using your essentials hotplate, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the
following:

 This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory

or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge concerning the use of this product,
unless they are supervised or have been given instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.

 Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
 Always ensure that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the voltage in your home.
 Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the plug is damaged, it must

be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person in order to avoid an electrical hazard.

 This appliance is intended for household use only. Industrial or commercial use will void the

warranty, and the supplier cannot be held responsible for injury or damage caused when using the
appliance for any purpose other than that for which it is intended.

 Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user.
 Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way. In case of damage, take

the unit in for examination and/or repair by an authorized service agent.

 To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse or expose the motor assembly, plug or the

power cord to water or any other liquid.

 Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid for cleaning purposes.
 Remove the plug from the socket by gripping the plug. Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the

appliance. Always unplug the unit when not in use or before cleaning or when adding or removing
parts.

 The use of accessory attachments that are not recommended or supplied by the manufacturer may

result in injuries, fire or electric shock.

 Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Ensure that the cord is not in a position

where it can be pulled on inadvertently.

 Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces and do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner

or in a heated oven.

 Never use this unit near bathtubs, showers, basins or other water containers.

 Use of an extension cord with this appliance is not recommended. However, if it is necessary to use

an extension cord, ensure that the cord is suited to the power consumption of the appliance to avoid
overheating of the extension cord, appliance or plug point. Do not place the extension cord in a
position where it can be pulled on by children or animals or tripped over.

 This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use. Do not use this appliance for anything other than its

intended purpose.

 Do not carry the appliance by the power cord.
 Do not touch hot surfaces directly. Use handles or knobs
 Do not leave this appliance unattended during use. Always unplug the unit when not in use. Allow

the appliance to cool before cleaning it.

 Always operate the appliance on a smooth, even and stable surface. Do not place the unit on a hot

surface.

 The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage or injury caused by the improper or

incorrect use of the appliance, or by repairs carried out by unauthorized personnel.

 In case of technical problems, switch off the appliance and do not attempt to repair it yourself.

Return the appliance to an authorized service facility for examination, adjustment or repair. Always
insist on the use of original components. Failure to comply with the abovementioned precautions
and instructions could affect the safe operation of this aopliance.

USING YOUR HOTPLATE

You must read all instructions carefully before using this appliance.

 Remove all packaging material and please check carefully to ensure that your hotplate is in good

condition. There must be no cracks on the unit and no damage to the cord/plug. Do not discard any
packaging until all accessories have been located.

 You must confirm that the voltage indicated on the hotplate corresponds with the voltage in your

home.

 Remove any adhesive labels or stickers before use.
 You should carefully wipe the exterior surface and the spiral element with a warm, soft damp cloth to

remove any dust that may have accumulated. Wipe dry with a clean towel.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Before using you hotplate for the first time, turn it to the highest setting for 3 to 5 minutes to condition
the protective coating. (This should be the only time the hotplate is ever turned on without a cooking
utensil on it.) When used for the first time, the hotplate may give off a slight odour and smoke haze.
This is normal and simply due to initial heating of internal components.

2. For the most efficient operation of your hotplate, the pots and pans used should have a solid base,
be as even as possible and have a diameter of approximately 18-20 cm and a maximum capacity of
8 litres. Do not use pots and pans with a base diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the
hotplate.

3. Regardless of their size, pots and pans should not be bigger than the hotplate or stand too close to
the controls.

4. Do not use pots and pans without a lid or with a concave or uneven bottom.

5. Switch on the appliance by turning the power switch. When the indicator light turns on, the appliance
is in use.

6. Turn the control to the recommended setting to achieve the desired temperature. Use this guide as a
reference.

OFF: OFF Position. No Power.
L (LOW): For simmering delicate foods, thickening sauces and slow cooking.
M (Medium): For simmering large quantities and for shallow frying.
H (High): For rapid heating and boiling.

7. The light will go off when the hotplate reaches the selected temperature, and will the alternate
between on and off to maintain the temperature.

8. When not in use, always turn the control to the OFF position and disconnect from the power outlet.

CARE AND CLEANING

1. Clean the painted surface with a soft, damp cloth and mild household cleaning powder.

2. Food spills on the hotplate can be removed with a household cleaner. Switch the hotplate on for a
moment to dry after cleaning, then switch off.

3. The use of commercially available hotplate cleaners is recommended to preserve the natural finish of
the hotplate.

1. The party selling the product (“the seller”) to the original purchaser of this product (“the customer”)

hereby warrants that this product will be of good quality, in good working order, free of defects and
suitable for its intended purpose under normal household use, for a period of 1 (one) year from the
date of purchase (“warranty period”) of this product.

2. In the event that the product is not of a good quality or in good working order, defective or unsuitable

for its intended purpose under normal household use before the warranty period has not lapsed, the
customer may, subject to paragraph 3 below, return the product to the seller on the following terms:

2.1 Within the first 6 (six) months of the warranty: receive a refund of the actual price paid
or texchange the product for the same or similar product of the same purchased value;

2.2 After 6 (six) months of the warranty have lapsed: exchange the product for the

same or similar product of the same purchased value.

3. The seller will not replace the product or refund the customer in terms of this warranty if the product:

3.1 has been altered contrary to the instructions provided in the product manual;

3.2 has been misused, abused or tampered with;

3.3 is defective or not in working order due to ordinary wear and tear;

3.4 is damaged due to the customer’s gross negligence, recklessness, malicious

behaviour or criminal conduct;

3.5 has been utilized for commercial or industrial purposes.

4. This warranty applies only to the product that has been purchased from the seller and not to any
expendables attached to or installed on the product by the customer.

5. Any claim in terms of this warranty must be supported by the original proof of purchase.

6. Note that the exchange item will only carry the balance of the warranty period as from the original
date of purchase.

PRÉCAUTIONS IMPORTANTES

Lorsque vous utilisez votre Plaque « Essentials », il faut respecter les précautions de base, y compris ce
qui suit:

 Cet appareil n'est pas destiné à être utilisé par des personnes (enfants compris) dont les capacités

physiques, sensorielles ou mentales sont réduites, ou avec le manque d'expérience et de
connaissance, sauf si elles sont surveillées ou ont été données des instructions concernant
l'utilisation de l'appareil par une personne responsable de leur sécurité.

 Les enfants doivent être surveillés pour assurer qu'ils ne jouent pas avec l'appareil.

 Cet appareil n'est pas adapté pour une utilisation en extérieur. Ne pas utiliser cet appareil pour autre

chose que son utilisation prévue.

UTILISATION DE VOTRE PLAQUE DE CUISSON

Vous devez lire attentivement toutes les instructions avant d'utiliser cet appareil.

 Retirez tout les emballages et veuillez s'il vous plaît vérifier attentivement que votre plaque de

cuisson est en bon état. Il ne doit pas y avoir des fissures sur l'unité et aucun dommage sur la prise /
fiche. Ne pas jeter l'emballage avant que tous les accessoires aient été trouvés.

 Vous devez confirmer que la tension indiquée sur la plaque de cuisson correspond à la tension dans

votre maison.

 Retirez toutes les étiquettes adhésives ou les autocollants avant de l'utiliser.
 Vous devriez soigneusement essuyer la surface extérieure et l'élément en spirale avec un chiffon

doux et humide pour enlever toute la poussière qui s’est accumulée. Essuyez la plaque de cuisson
avec une serviette propre.

UTILISATION DE VOTRE PLAQUE DE CUISSON

1. Avant d'utiliser votre plaque de cuisson pour la première fois,réglez la sur le réglage le plus élevé

pendant 3 à 5 minutes pour conditionner l'état du revêtement de protection, ce doit être le seul
moment où la plaque de cuissson doit être allumée sans ustensile de cuisson sur elle. Lors de la

premièe utilisation, la plaque de cuisson pourrait dégager une légère odeur et fumée. C’est normal.
C’est dû à réchauffement initia I des composants internes.

2. Pour un fonctionnement plus efficace de votre plaque de cuisson les ustensiles de cuisine utilisés

doivent avoir une base solide et être aussi régulier que possible et avoir un diamètre d’environ 18 à

20 cm et une contenance maximale de 8 L. Des ustensiles de cuisine avec un diamètre de base plus
petit que celui de la plaque de cuisson ne doivent pas être utilizes.

3. Les ustensiles de cuisine, quel que soit leur taille, ne doivent pas dépasser de la plaque chauffante

ou gêner la proximité de la commande.

4. Les ustensiles convexes, concaves ou avec des fonds inégaux ne doivent pas être utilisés, sans

couvercle.

5. Allumer en tournant le bouton. Quand l’indicateur lumineux s’allume, l’appareil fonctionne.

6. Réglez sur la position recommandée pour accéder à la temperature désirée. Utilisez ce guide

comme référence.

OFF: Position OFF Pas de puissance
L(Bas): Pour cuire des aliments délicats, épaissir les sauces et cuire lentement
M(Moyen): Pour cuire de grandes quantités et frire.
H(Haut): Pour chauffer rapidement et bouillir.

7. L’indicateur lumineux va s’éteindre quand la temperature des plaques désirée sera atteinte et

clignotera pour maintenir la température.

8. Quand vous n’utilisez pas les plaques, mettez le bouton sur la position “off” et débranchez la prise..

ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE

1. Nettoyez la surface peinte avec un chiffon doux et humide et de la poudre de nettoyage domestique.

2. Les marques de cuisson circulaire sur la plaque chauffante peuvent être enlevées avec une poudre

de nettoyage domestique. Allumez l'appareil un moment et laissez le sécher après le nettoyage.

3. Les produits de nettoyage de plaque disponibles dans le commerce sont recommandés pour

préserver l'aspect naturel de la plaque chauffante.

UTILIZAÇÃO DA CHAPA ELÉCTRICA

Deve ler todas as instruções cuidadosamente antes de utilizar este aparelho

 Retire todo o material da embalagem e verifique cuidadosamente, certificando-se de que a sua

chapa eléctrica está em boas condições. Não deve ter nenhuma fenda na unidade nem danos no
cordão/ficha. Não deite fora qualquer embalagem até todos os acessórios terem sido encontrados.

 Deve confirmar se a voltagem indicada na chapa eléctrica corresponde à voltagem em sua casa.
 Retira quaisquer adesivos ou etiquetas antes de utilizar.
 Deve limpar a superfície exterior e o elemento espiral com um pano humedecido morno para retirar

qualquer sujidade que tenha sido acumulada. Seque com uma toalha limpa.

PARA UTILIZAR A CHAPA ELÉCTRICA

1. Antes de utilizar a chapa eléctrica pela primeira vez, ligue-a na temperatura máxima durante 3 a 5
minutos para condicionar uma camada protectora. Esta deve ser a única vez que a chapa é ligada
sem um utensílio de cozinha em cima. Quando utillizado pela primeira vez, of fogão poderá deitar
algum cheiro suave e libertar algumfumo. Isto é normal. É devido ao aquecimento inicial dos
componentes internos.

2. Para uma operação mais eficiente da sua chapa eléctrica, os utensílios de cozinha utilizados devem
ter uma base sólida e serem o mais uniformes possível, com um diâmetro aproximadamente de 18 a
20 cm e com uma capacidade máxima de 8 litro. O diâmetro da base dos utensílios que sejam mais
pequenos que o diâmetro da chapa não devem ser utilizados.
