The unit must be installed by a suitably qualified person in
accordance with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations.
Isolate mains supply before commencing installation. Please
read all instructions before proceeding.
Ensure that the fixed wiring connections to the mains supply
is via a fuse rated at not more than 6 amps and class ‘A’
switch having a contact separation of a minimum of 3mm
in all poles. The recommended cable sizes are 1.0mm sqr or
1.5mm sqr. No earth connection is required as the product is
double insulated but ensure continuity of earth throughout
the system.
Maintenance
Always isolate the mains supply before commencing any
work, servicing or maintenance on the system. And please
read all instructions before proceeding.
Arrange for an annual maintenance and inspection schedule
to be carried out by a competent person on every part of the
heating and hot water system.

this product must be fitted by a qualified person, and
installation must comply with the guidance provided in
the current editions of BS767 (IEE wiring regulations)
and part “P” of the building regulations.

Fitting the Room Thermostat
The ideal position to locate the Programmable Room
Thermostat is about 1.5m above floor level, in a location
where the thermostat is accessible, reasonably lit and free
from extremes of temperature and draughts. Do not position
the thermostat near sources of heat, such as radiators lights,
TV, direct sunlight or on an outside wall.
Installation
1. Loosen the screws on the back-plate and remove from
the Unit.
2. If required, fix the back-plate, terminals at the top,
either direct onto a flat wall using wall plugs and screws
or on a flush mounting single conduit box.

3. Insert the AA batteries provided and replace the front
cover of the thermostat.
Fitting the Receiver
Installation
1. Loosen the screws on the back-plate and remove from
the Unit.
2. Fix the back-plate, terminals at the top, either direct
onto a flat wall using wall plugs and screws or on a flush
mounting single conduit box. Route the wires through
the back of the wall plate and fit the wires to the wallplate in accordance with the relevant diagram and in
accordance with I.E.E. regulations.
3. Fit the Unit onto back-plate, and tighten the screws.
Ensure an appropriate fuse is fitted to the circuit before
reconnecting to the mains supply.
Commissioning/Configuring
1. If the receiver and thermostat have been supplied as
a kit, the units have already been paired in the factory
and no pairing is needed.
2. Power up the receiver and both lights should come on
for a few seconds.
3. Press and hold M/A (Manual/Auto) button

4. Insert batteries in the thermostat, turn dial up to 5 and
remove dial.
5. Press and hold the black button until the receiver light
goes off.
6. To check it is paired, turn the thermostat above room

temperature and check that the red manual button (on
the receiver) lights up.
7. If unsuccessful, leave the unit powered on for 5 minutes
and repeat the steps above.

Receiver Manual Override
It is possible to operate the receiver manually. This may be
necessary where, for example, the batteries in the Thermostat
(Transmitter) are depleted and therefore the heating cannot
turn on or off.
To engage the manual override, press the MANUAL button

(See page 10) on the receiver, which will then light up with a
green background.
After 2-3 seconds, press the M/A button
1
(See page 10),
which may be ON (red background) or OFF. This will manually
override the status of the receiver. If ON, the heating will turn
OFF (M/A red light goes off). If OFF, the heating will turn ON
(M/A red light comes on).
N.B. It is important to remember that the automatic control
of the receiver is now off and the receiver will only
respond to manual operations.
To return to automatic mode, press the M/A button

(with or
without the red light on) and then press MANUAL button

(See page 10). The receiver should now be back in automatic
mode, recieving commands from the thermostat.
