4. Place slats #16 and #17 across table from beam to beam as shown in figure 4. Make sure to use the two shorter slats #17 on the ends of the beams and the two longer slats #16 in the center as shown. Insert four dowel connectors #36 into the holes in side of each of the beams #15 (See Figure 4 and Detail B), these holes should be closer to the top of the beams #15. To attach slats #16 and #17 to the wooden beams #15, see the following procedure noted: "Hint"
HINT: If the screwdriver slot in the dowel connector #36 is straight up and down, and you can see the threaded bolt hole in the dowel connector #36 through the hole in the top of beam #15, the dowel connector #36 is lined up. (See detail A) It is recommended to start the bolts by hand and not force them with power tools until you are sure threads are engaged properly. After holes line up, insert screws #18 into slats and down into dowel connectors (See detail B). Do not tighten completely yet.
5. Square up long slats #16 by measuring diagonally from end to end as shown in figure 5. Check to make sure the table is square. Then tighten screws into the dowel connectors.
