SUMMARY:
The Aristo 400 and 460 main control board has been upgraded from an 8-bit to a 16-bit microprocessor. This change improves weld performance and adds functionality by supporting more advanced MMC features and functions . The 8-bit control board is obsolete and replaced by the 16-bit board. The boards can be identified by using the photo’s below. Component positioning in the top half of the PCB is different.

The 16-bit control board is backward compatible with the 8-bit board and can be used as a repair part for older power sources without any degradation of welding performance when using an MA-6 MMC panel only.

CAUTION

Aristo welding systems using a U-8 MMC must

Some caution is needed for those persons using ESAT and updating the boot programs on any Aristo power source. The boot program for 8 and 16 bit microprocessors is different and is not interchangeable. Do not use a 8-bit boot program on a 16-bit PCB. The reverse is also true.
