This unit is intended only for commercial use and not for private use.
This unit is used for tanning one adult person at a time.
Nursing infants and small children up to 7 years of age may not use this unit.
The following applies for children and teenagers between the ages of 8 and 17 years: Only use tanning devices in agreement with a parent or guardian, or after consulting a physician.
This unit is only to operated with the specified lamps or their equivalent. The tanning times given in this instruction manual are valid only for the specified lamp set.
Any other use shall be considered improper. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage or injuries resulting from this. The operator bears the sole risk for this.
Proper use also includes compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions and its operating and maintenance conditions. The sunbed may only be operated, maintained and repaired by persons familiar with these tasks and that have been informed of the dangers involved.
14
Safety information for the operator
• All danger and safety notes attached to the unit must be observed!
• Please see the Technical Data - see page 77 for the maximum permissible weight loading of the acrylic glass panel.
• No safety equipment (e.g. panel switch) or safety warnings may be removed or deactivated which would impair the safe operation of the unit!
• The unit may only be operated in full working order!
1) In Germany: VDE regulations
• A timer control must be attached so that the device automatically switches off at the latest after <110% of the selected running time even if the controller fails. The sunbed running time must be provided with double protection by use of a timer control that complies with the standard EN 60335-2-27
2)
.
• Do not change, obstruct or block the air inflow and outflow area to the unit or make any unauthorised changes to the unit. The manufacturer shall bear no liability for damage or injuries resulting from such actions.
• The unit should not be installed and operated on the transport pallet. Danger of overheating by obstructing the air circulation.
2) For JK timer controls, see page 83
Danger!
Installation and electrical connections must comply with the national regulations.
1)
The on-site electrical installation must be fitted with an easily accessible all-pole isolating device (master switch), complying with overvoltage category III. This means that each pole must have a contact opening width complying with the conditions of overvoltage category III for full isolation.
If the unit is connected via a plug and socket connection, a plug system complying with EN 60309-1/A11; 5-pole; 400 VAC (50 A) must be used.
Assembly, installation, upgrading or repair of the device may only be carried out by specially trained and instructed personnel.
Caution!
The code for accessing the unit via the infrared interface is preset in the software of the hand-held unit, and can therefore be used on any unit. Anyone downloading the software from the Internet can access the unit’s data using a hand-held unit. Please make sure that customer service changes the preset access code prior to initial start-up. Please make a note of the new code for subsequent use!
This code is independent of the access code for the pre-settings via the control panel.

Safety information for the user

Danger of skin and eye injuries or skin diseases!
• Persons with very sensitive skin (skin type I) must not use the system, since, for this skin type, tanning without skin damage (e.g. sunburn) is not possible.
• Individuals with acute sunburn, individuals who have had or have skin cancer, or individuals who are at increased risk of skin cancer, must not use the unit.
• UV systems should not be used without medical advice, if unexpected manifestations such as irritation occur within 48 hours of first using the sunbed.
• The sunbed may never be used when a filter panel is missing or damaged, or if the timer is defective!
• UV radiation from the sun or UV systems can cause injuries to the skin or eyes. This biological effect is dependent on the sensitivity of the individual’s skin and on the type and amount of UV radiation.
• The skin can get sunburned when exposed to excessive radiation. Excessive, frequently repeated UV irradiation with sunlight or UV devices can result in premature aging of the skin and increased risk of skin tumours.
• Particular caution is advisable for individuals who are especially sensitive to UV radiation, and when certain medicaments or cosmetics are used.
• Remove cosmetics before tanning and do not use sun screen products.
• See a doctor if stubborn swelling, sores or pigmented moles form on the skin.
• Some medications for internal or external use can considerably increase the skin’s sensitivity to UV radiation. For example: Antibiotics, sulphonamides, psoralens such as melanin, vitamin A acid and derivatives. Sunbaths – including those in the sun – should not be taken during and shortly after using this kind of substances! If in doubt, ask your physician first!
• The unprotected eye can become inflamed on the surface, and in certain cases the retina can be damaged by excessive radiation. Cataracts can form after frequently repeated exposure to radiation. Use the accompanying UV goggles (order no. 84592-..).
• The time between the first two sessions on the sunbed must be at least 48 hours! Do not sunbathe again on the same day.
• Increasing tanning requires increased exposure time (= radiation time) or after a certain degree of tanning has been achieved, increased tanning is not possible. However, the radiation time may not be extended as desired within the scope of the permissible radiation doses! Therefore, depending on the skin type, there is always a limitation to the degree of final tanning that can be achieved without endangering your health.

Information for the operator
Guidelines
This unit was manufactured according to the following guidelines:
• EC directive “Electromagnetic Compatibility” 89/336/EEC (according to the version valid at the time).
• Low Voltage Directive 72/23/EEC (according to the version in force at present).
Export
We emphasise that these sunbeds are intended for the European market and must not be exported to or operated in the USA or Canada! The manufacturer does not accept any liability in the event of non-observance! We explicitly emphasise that high liability risks may occur to the exporter and/or the operator in the event of non-observance.
Note:
Depending on the local utility company, the devices can transmit interference to the power system of the house that impair the audio-frequency remote control system used by the utility company. This can, for example, interfere with the function of nightstorage heaters.
Note:
If faults occur due to the operation of the sunbeds, then the operator is responsible for the installation of an audio frequency blocking device in the building electrical installation. Please contact your electrician. The electrician is familiar with the technical connection conditions of your local utility company so that the audio-frequency blocking device can be matched to the power system of your utility company.

Information for the operator
MP3 music (optional)
If a personal MP3 player is used during a tanning session, it is not considered a public public performance according to copyright so that the studio operator is not liable for registration or payment to the GEMA.
The same regulations apply to the public use of MP3 music files as to all other music sources. As a studio operator/studio owner, you may only play original Audio-CDs, MCs, audio-DVDs etc., on your premises and/ or play music via the “MP3-music modules” which are provided in the professional sunbeds in the Ergoline range, if you have acquired the necessary stage rights (GEMA/GVL
1)
[German copyright handling organisa-
tion]).
Copy protected audio CDs, MCs, audio DVDs etc, as well as the tracks on such sound storage media should not converted to MP3 format and/ or stored on HDD, audio CDs, MCs, audio DVDs etc. if software is used for this that voids or circumvents copy protection for the said storage media.
At the request of the GEMA’s external staff or any other GEMA controlling body, you must always be in a position to prove that you have purchased the performance rights by showing the relevant authorisation issued by the GEMA.
As long as you observe all the listed instructions and have acquired the necessary rights for use of the “MP3-music-module”, you may convert your original audio-CDs, MCs, audio-DVDs etc. into the MP3 format re-
quired by the player. However, only one copy is to be made of each legally purchased audio CD, MC, audio DVD etc. The source media (original sound storage media) must be kept and are not permitted to be used at the same time.
1) or have purchased the commercial performance rights from the associa-
tion responsible in your country.

Use the sunbed - but use it properly!
A few things need to be noted to get maximum enjoyment from a sunbed. The following are answers to some frequently asked questions.
Make-up on the sunbed?
Please don’t wear any make-up. Clean skin absorbs UV light better.
Cosmetics contain a wide variety of substances. Whether emulsifiers, emollients, or scents - when exposed to UV radiation, these substances can cause allergic reactions of the skin.
Accordingly, before using a sunbed you must: remove all make-up! Make-up clogs the pores in the face. The UV light from a sunbed reopens these clogged pores so that not only does the light penetrate the skin, but also the allergenic components of the make-up.
A further negative impact of make-up is that the appearance of the skin deteriorates irreversibly over a period of time. However good a decent make-up looks - in conjunction with UV light, it causes more harm than good. Therefore: Remove all make-up before a session on your sunbed
- it will be much better applied afterwards.
Showering after the tanning session?
A tan is in the skin, not on it., which means you cannot wash it off. Apply moisturizing cream on your skin after showering.
Medication and sunbed at the same time?
It is known that some drugs increase the skin’s sensitivity to UV light. This tendency is particularly high with antibiotics, sulphonamides, psychotropic drugs, tranquillizers, anti-diabetics and diuretics. Suncreams which contain psorale or kumarin also increase skin sensitivity. If in any doubt, ask your doctor first - you can then enjoy the tanning at no risk.
Contact lenses on the sunbed?
The answer is: Yes! Like any other sunbed user, contact lens wearers should also wear special protective goggles which protect the eyes against UV radiation. To guarantee better protection, wearers of spectacles and contact lenses can ask their optician for disposable contact lenses with UV protection. The UV-A and UV-B filters built into exchangecontact lenses will protect the cornea and the internal parts of the eye against almost 100% of the energy in UV radiation.
This will benefit sunbed users not only in the open air, but on the sunbed itself. You can wear these contact lenses even on the sunbed without any restrictions. For more information, ask your optician or optometrist.

Safety instructions for maintenance and care
Maintenance and care play a major role in deciding whether your sunbed meets your requirements satisfactorily. Compliance with the specified maintenance intervals and the careful conducting of the maintenance and care work are therefore absolutely necessary.
You can call up the current operating hours of the parts to be serviced in preset mode.
Refit any protective devices (e. g. filter panels) after finishing working on the sunbed.
Please note that the device must be inspected regularly by our customer service or an approved specialised company every 12 months (from date of commissioning) to maintain its proper condition.
Danger!
Disconnect the sunbed from the power supply when performing maintenance work requiring opening of the device. See Page 49.
Caution!
Use only genuine spare parts of the same type! The use of other parts voids the CE conformity! Any liability for damage or injury proven to be the result of the use of non-genuine spare parts is excluded.
Fire hazard!
High-pressure lamps that have not been approved by Ergoline can explode. Hot lamp components can set other components on fire. People can be killed or severely injured due to smoke inhalation and fire.
– Only fit high pressure lamps recommended by Ergoline.
– Clean the inside of the tanning device regularly. Dust
particles are combustible!

Safety instructions for maintenance and care
Disconnect the device from the power supply and ensure that it cannot be switched on again.
• Where circuit breakers cannot be unscrewed, apply a strip of adhesive tape over the actuation lever with the wording “Do not switch, danger!”.
A prohibition sign with the wording: “Work in progress!”
• “Place: ..............................”
• “Sign may only be removed by: ............”
must always be securely and immediately displayed.
Danger!
If work is to be performed on the sunbeds, they must be disconnected. That means that all live cables must be switched off. Switching off the sunbed alone is insufficient, as certain points may still be live. Therefore, switch off all fuses before performing any work and – if possible – remove them.
Danger!
Severe accidents can occur if the sunbed is unintentionally switched on again. Immediately after disconnecting, secure all disconnected switches or fuses against being switched on again.
– Lock the fuse box with a padlock.

Acrylic glass surfaces
Risk of infection!
Infections can be spread by skin contact.
All items/device components that may come into contact with the user during the tanning session must be disinfected after every session:
• Acrylic glass panel
• Handles and control panel
• Adjustable air nozzles
• Protective goggles
•MP3 cable
Note:
To ensure thorough disinfection, always adhere to the reaction time specified for the disinfectant.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use.
Caution!
Do not rub with a dry cloth – danger of scratching! For quick and hygienic cleaning of acrylic glass surfaces, use only the specially developed rapid-action disinfectant cleaner Antifect
®
. Other cleaning agents, especially concentrated disinfectants or solvents (e. g. Lysoform, ethyl alcohol or other liquids containing alcohol) must never be used for cleaning.
Failure to observe this voids all warranty claims.
53
Cleaning
Plastic surfaces
For cleaning the other plastic surfaces, it is best to use warm water and a chamois leather. Never use aggressive cleaning agents containing alcohol, e.g. the commercially available Sagrotan, or ethereal oils. These may lead, in the long run, to damages not covered by the warranty.
During cleaning, the rubber seals may slightly discolour the chamois leather due to production-related reasons.
Filters and filter mats
Note:
Avoid damaging the acrylic glass and plastic surfaces. Remove rings, watches, bracelets etc. before the start of cleaning work.
02756 / 0
Filter mats
Dry cleaning: vacuum cleaner
Moist cleaning: water and a mild detergent. Do not
use a dishwasher.
Caution! The system may be damaged by mois-
ture!
Ensure that the cleaned filters and filter mats are
totally dry before reassembly.
54
Cleaning
Cleaning the filter panels and lamps
The UV high-pressure lamps fitted are broadband radiators which can be operated at different outputs.
UV low-pressure lamps: Clean with water only (damp cloth)
UV high-pressure lamps: Clean glass jackets with ethyl alcohol, if necessary.
Filter panels: Clean with water only (damp cloth)
55
Maintenance
Acrylic glass surfaces
The acrylic glass panels in the sunbeds are made of acrylic glass developed specifically for this application. The acrylics used feature a particularly high UV permeability and resistance, as well as an easy-care, hygienic surface that is gentle to the skin.
The acrylic glass panels are formed to their shapes for the specific devices in a technically complex production process. Despite state-of-the-art production know-how, the presence of minor spots, air bubbles or streaks in the acrylic panels is unavoidable. In addition, hairline cracks can occur on the acrylic glass pane during operation.
These occurrences are material-related and are unavoidable in processing. However, they have no significant effect on use and are therefore not accepted as defects.
Caution!
Remove cosmetics or sun screen products prior to tanning, as they can cause damage (e. g. fine cracks on the surface) when used continuously.
