Safety
Please ensure that the light you are intending to fit your new shade to, is turned off at the wall switch, and
also switched off at the mains supply board. This ensures there are no “Live” connections in the ceiling
rose when you check the wiring clamp.
Switch off the light to allow the shade to cool before changing the bulb or cleaning.
Do not exceed the maximum wattage or use a different shape of light bulb as this may cause your shade to
overheat.
1. Ensure your pendant wiring is secured correctly in the ceiling cup and in the lampholder. This is so your
pendant wiring can take the weight of the shade.
2. If your pendant is for an ES lampholder or Low Energy fluorescent lamp then you do not need the shade ring
reducer. For normal BC size lampholders use the reducer ring by lifting it into place from underneath and
passing the lampholder without its screw-on shade ring through the hole in the shade and through the hole in
the reducer ring.
3. Screw the shade ring back onto the lampholder to secure the shade and then allow the step in the reducer ring
to locate in the hole in the shade.
4. When cleaning do not use abrasive materials as these may affect the finish.
