General information:

The Pressure C ontrols PS4-…ATEX are int ended to
monitor the pressure and to act as a safety device.

The listed products are electrical operated switches
with ignition source and are in compliance with
EN 60079 / directive 2014/34/EU therefore rated /
marked as:

PS4-…ATEX must be installed in an appropriate
housing to protect them from mechanical damage or
shock.

Safety instruc tions:

• Read operating instructions thoroughly. Failure

to comply can result in device failure, system
damage or personal injur y.

• According to E N 13313 it i s intended for us e by

persons having the appropriate knowledge and
skill.

• Flammable refrigerants require special handling

and care due to its flammability. Sufficient
ventilation is required during service of the
system. Con tact wit h rapid ly exp anding g ases can
cause frostbite and eye damage. Proper
protective equip ment (gloves, eye protection, et c.)
has to be used.

• In a severely contaminated system, avoid

breathing acid vapors and avoid contact with
skin from contaminated refrigerant / lubricants.
Failure to do so could result in injury.

• E nsure that the system is correctly labeled with

applied refrigerant type and a warning for
explosion risk.

• Make sure that the high pressure switch is

installed on high pressure side and low pressure
switch on low p ress ure si de of sy stem. Fa il ure to
do will result in system without protection
against high and low pressure a nd consequently
risk of explosion and human injury.

• Do not release any refrigerant into the

atmosphere!

• Do not exceed the specified maximum ratings f or

pressure, temperatu r e, voltage and current.

• Before opening any system make sure p ressu re in

system is brought to and remains at atmospheric
pressure.

• Ensure that the system piping is grounded.

• Before installation or service disconnect voltage

from system and device.

• Observe and avoid mechanical damage of

housing in order to maintain protecti on class.

• Ensure that design, installation and operation

are according Europ ean ATEX Dir ective, as wel l
as the according national standards / regulations
are respected.

Installation (Fig. 1):

• PS4-…ATEX pressure controls should not be

exposed to gas p ulsations. When pulsations can be
expected, use a pulsation damper or a capillary tube
connection (min. 1m).

• Mounting directions per Fig. 1 in order to prevent

the collection of contaminant in pressure sensing
element.

Brazing (Fig. 2):

• Perform and consider the brazing joint as per

EN 14324.

• Before and after brazing clean tubing and brazing

joints.

• Minimize vibrations in the piping lines by

appropriate solutions.

Pressure test:

• After completi on of ins ta lla ti on , a pressure test must

be carried out according to EN 378 for systems which
must comply with European pressure equipment
directive 2014/68/EU.

• The max. system test pressure shall be 30 bar for low

pressure side and 41 bar for high pressure side.

Warning:

• Failure to do so could result in loss of refrigerant

and personal injury.

• The pressure test must be conducted by skilled

persons with due respect regarding the danger
related to pressure.

Tightness test:

Conduct tightness test according to EN 378-2 with
appropria te e q uipm ent and method to identify tightness
of external joints. Th e allowable leakag e rate must be
according system manufacturer’s s pecificati on.

Electrical connection:

• Entire elect rical con nections have to comply with

local regulations.

• Ensure that the cables are mounted without

tension; always leave the cable a bit loose.

• E nsure that cables are not mounted near sharp

edges.

• Do not bend or mechanically stress the cable

outlet, maintain a clearance of 20 mm to
neighboring parts.

Operation:

• Perform a functional test of electrical circuit

before charging the system with refrigerant.

Service / Maintenance:

• Defective PS4-…ATEX must be replaced; they

cannot be repaired.

• Disconnect electrical power before service.

• T he low est pressure i nside system must be at least

0.4 bar higher than ambient pressure at any time.
Failure to do so could accumulate air inside the
system and create an explosive mixture over time.

• Before any debrazing ensure that the flammable

refrigerant is pumped out of the system and the
room around the system is well vented so no
refrigerant left.

Beschreibung:

Die Druckschalter PS4-…ATEX kontrollieren den
Druck und wirken als Sicherheitseinrichtung.

Die aufgelisteten Produkte sind elektrische Schalter mit
einer Zündquelle und gemäß EN 60079 / Richtlinie
2014/34/EU eingruppiert / markiert als:

PS4-...ATEX müssen in einem geeigneten Gehäuse
installiert werden, um sie vor mechanischer
Beschädigu ng oder Stös sen zu schützen.

Sicherheitshinweise:

• Lesen Sie bitte die Betriebsanleitung gründlich.

Nichtbeachtung kann zum Versagen oder zur
Zerstörung des Gerätes und zu Verletzungen
führen.

• Der Einbau darf gemäß EN 13313 nur von

Fachkräften vorgenommen werden.

• Entzündbare Kältemittel erfordern besondere

Vorsichts- und Schutzmaßnahmen. Bei Service­arbeiten ist für aus re ichende Belüftun g zu s o rg en .
Der Kontakt mit schnell expandierenden Gasen
kann zu Erfrierungen und Augenschäden führen.
Entsprechende Schutzausrüstung (Handschuhe,
Schutzbrille, etc.) verwend en.

• Bei Anlagen, in denen eine starke chemische

Zersetzung stattgefunden hat, ist das Einatmen
säurehaltiger Dämpfe und der direkte Haut­kontakt mit Kältemittel oder Ölen zu vermeiden.
Nichtbeachtung kann zu Verletzungen führen.

• Die Anlage ist von außen gut sichtbar mit dem

verwendeten Kältemittel und einer Warnung vor
Explosionsrisiko zu kennzeichnen.

• Achten Sie darauf, dass der Hochdruckschalter

nur auf der Hochdruckseite und der Nieder­druckschalter nur auf der Niederdruckseite der
Anlage eingestzt werden darf. Bei Nichtbeachten
geht die Schutzfunktion gegen Hoch- und
Niederdruck verloren; entsprechend besteht
Explosions- und Verletzungsgefahr.

• Kältemittel nicht in die Atmosphäre entweichen

lassen!

• Die angegebenen Grenzwerte für Druck,

Temperatur, Strom und Spannung nicht
überschreiten.

• Der Kältekreislauf darf nur in drucklosem

Zustand geöffnet werden.

• Alle kältemittelführenden Rohre sind zu erden.

• Vor Installation oder Wartung sind die Anlage

und das Bauteil spannungsfrei zu schalten.

• Mechanische Beschädigungen des Gehäuses ver-

meiden, damit die Schutzklasse erhalten bleibt.

• Konstruktion, Installation und Betrieb der

Anlage sind nach der europäischen ATEX
Richtlinie und den entsprechenden nationalen
Vorschriften auszu füh r en .

Einbau (Fig. 1):

• PS4-...ATEX Druckschalter dürfen keinen Gas-

pulsationen ausgesetzt werden. Ist mit Pulsationen zu
rechnen, Pulsationsdämpfer oder Kapillarrohr
(min. 1m) verwenden.

• Einbaurichtung gemäß Fig. 1, um den Druckschalter

vor Verunreinigungen zu schützen.

Hartlötung (Fig. 2):

• Alle Lötverbindungen sind gemäß EN 14324

auszuführen.

• Vor und nach dem Löten sind die Lötstellen zu

reinigen.

• Vibrationen auf den Rohrleitungen sind durch

entsprechende Maßnahmen zu minimieren.

Drucktest:

• Nach der Installation ist für Anlagen, die die

Europäische Druckgeräterichtlinie 2014/68/EU
erfüllen sollen, ein Drucktest gemäß EN 378
durchzuführen.

• Der max. Anlagenprüfdruck beträgt 30 bar für die

Niederdruckseite und 41 bar fü r die Hochdruckseite.

Achtung:

• Bei Nichtbeachten droht Kältemittelverlust und

Verletzungsgefahr.

• Die Druckprüfung darf nur von geschulten und

erfahrenen Personen durchgeführt werden.

Dichtheitsprüfung:

Die Dichtheitsprüfung ist mit geei gnetem Gerät und
Methode gemäß EN 378-2 so durchzuführen, dass
Leckstellen sicher entdeckt werden. Die zulässige
Leckrate i st vom Systemhersteller zu s pezifizieren.

Elektrischer Anschluss:

• Für den gesamten elektrischen Anschlus s sind die

länderspezifischen Vorschriften einzuhalten.

• Kabel so verlegen, dass keine Zugspannungen

auftreten.

• Kabel so verlegen, dass sie nicht an scharfen

Kanten beschädigt werd en .

• Kabelaustritt nicht knicken oder mechanisch

belasten, 20 mm Mindestabstand zu
angrenzenden Teilen einhalten.

Betrieb:

• Vor dem Befüllen der Anlage ist ein elektrischer

Funktionstest durchzuführen.

Service / Wartung:

• Defekte PS4-...ATEX müssen ausgetauscht

werden. Eine Reparatur ist nicht möglich.

• Vo r dem Service ist die Anlage abzuscha lten und

von der Spannungsversorgung zu trennen.

• Der niedrigste Systemdruck muss in allen

Betriebsarten immer mindestens 0.4 bar höher
sein als der Umgebungsdruck. Bei Nichtbeachten
kann sich im Lauf der Zeit Luftsauerstoff im
Innern der Anlage anreichern und ein explosives
Gasgemisch bilden.

• Vor allen Löt- oder Schweißarbeiten ist

sicherzustellen, dass sich kein brennbares Kälte­mittel in der Anlage und ihrem Umfeld befindet.
Auf gute Lüftung achten.
