Please Note: Please retain all original packaging to allow safe shipping of your product. In the event
of a warranty claim where replacement packaging is required, this will be chargeable. Your product is
guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 2 years following the date of delivery to you. During
this period we will repair or replace the product except where the fault has been caused by accident,
neglect or misuse.
Warranty This end-user 24 Month warranty ("Warranty") is extended by Elonex to the original
purchaser ("Purchaser") of the Elonex product ("Product") accompanied by this Warranty and is not
transferable.
What is Covered Elonex warrants the Product against defects in material or workmanship under
normal use for the applicable warranty period listed below ("Warranty Period"), beginning from the
date of original purchase by Purchaser. If the Product becomes defective during the Warranty Period,
Elonex will, at its option and without charge, repair or replace the Product with a product with the
same or functionally equivalent model. Should your Product prove defective during the Warranty
Period, please contact Elonex Technical Support Department on 0871 222 3456. Postage, insurance
and shipping costs incurred in returning your product to Elonex or its Authorized Repair Centres for
warranty service are your responsibility unless otherwise stated. Elonex is not responsible for any loss
or damage to the product until it is received by Elonex or its Authorized Repair Centres or for any
accessories or missing parts. A product returned for warranty service must be shipped complete
(except for any manuals and paperwork bundled with the product) in its original packing material or
equivalent so as not to be damaged while in transit. Elonex or its Authorized Repair Centres warranty
obligations only arise upon receipt of the defective product at its designated Repair Centres.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover This Warranty does not cover and shall be void for defects or
damages resulting from casualty, accident, transportation, misuse or abuse, neglect, alterations,
service or repair by other than Elonex, improper installation, operation or maintenance, improper
connections with peripherals, or other causes not arising out of defects in materials or workmanship.

How to change the language
To change the language to English, go to the Home menu and press Settings. Then click the Language icon
and click to choose your preferred Language.

Your eBook
Your eBook is supplied with no charge in the battery for safe
transport. Elonex recommends that for the rst time, you should
charge the eBook for at least 8 hours to get the best battery life.
You can charge via the USB cable supplied or via an optional
Mains Charger. To power the eBook ON press the Power button
for 2 seconds and allow the user interface to load.

You can insert an SD card up to 16GB in size to give you
additional storage space. When inserting an SD card please
careful insert the card with the label facing towards the screen
and push until you feel it click into place. To remove it, gently
push it inwards until you feel a click and it will pop out so you
can remove it.

Downloading eBooks
The eBook has onboard storage space for around 1000 books* (expandable to up to 30,000*
books via an optional SD Memory Card). The eBook uses ePub and PDF (as well as various
less widespread formats) with or without Adobe DRM protection so you can download new
content to your heart’s content. The eBook is compatible with content from all good
retailers.
Digital Editions
The 500EB is compatible with DRM copyright protected eBooks
which are available to purchase. The best way to manage and
download eBooks is using Adobe Digital Editions which is FREE and
lets you copy the eBook to up to 6 devices. It requires a ‘once only’
install before you can begin downloading eBooks.
Set-up & Authorise
Set-up 1: Install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer
Go to www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions and follow the on-screen instructions
Set-up 2: Get an Adobe ID online and enter your credentials to load the Digital Editions Software
Set-up 3: When prompted, authorise your Computer in Digital Editions.
Then plug in your eBook via USB. Allow the drivers to auto-install.
A popup will then ask you to Authorise your Elonex eBook 500EB - click Activate.
Your eBook should now show up as Bookshelf on the left side of Digital Editions and computer are now
ready to accept eBooks
Downloading eBook Content
The process of downloading, managing and transferring eBooks is a 3 step process.
Step 1: Purchase and Download an eBook from your chosen retailer
Step 2: Download the eBook into Digital Editions using the instructions supplied to you by your chosen
retailer.
Step 3: The eBook you’ve just downloaded will show up
in your “Purchased” Bookshelf in Digital Editions. To
transfer this to your 500EB eBook simply drag and
drop the thumbnail of the book from the Purchased
Bookshelf on top of the Elonex500EB icon shown here.
