OPERATING THE ELM8 FROM
EXTERNAL POWER
ELM8
Integrated variable speed fan automatically turns on when light
output exceeds 5100 lumens ; Low Speed (5200-6300), High
Speed (6400-8000).
OPERATING THE ELM8 WITH SOFTBOXES
When using 3rd-Party modifers that cover the ELM8 heat sink, trapped
heat can cause the light to lower it’s output. To prevent overheating,
open the modier vents or dial back to a lower lumen output.
Light will operate best on external power if internal battery is
charged. If the light is run off wall power with an empty battery,
the extra heat generated while charging may cause the light to
operate at less than full power. For maximum lumen output, make
sure the battery is charged more than 50%.
* ELM8 will run at 6300 lumens max when plugged into AC / external DC to prevent
battery drain.
