Beschreibung

P-Amps, ein modulares Endstufen-Konzept. Die flexible Lösung für
alle Anwendungen im mobilen Einsatz und für Festinstallationen. Die
modulare Architektur der P-Amps erlaubt die flexible Auswahl an
Filter- / Signalprozessor sowie Eingangs- und Ausgangsmodulen.
Damit können die Endstufen leicht und vor allen Dingen zukunftssi­cher unterschiedlichen Einsatzzwecken in nahezu beliebiger An­schlußtechnik angepaßt werden. Die P-Amps sind werksseitig mit
dem Eingangsmodul I-1 (XLR Eingänge mit Durchschleifbuchsen)
und dem Ausgangsmodul O-1 (SPEAKON Buchsen) bestückt. Die
Frontslots der P-Amps sind mit Abdeckblenden versehen. Über diese
Slots können Filter- bzw. Signalprozessor Module in den Signalpfad
eingefügt werden. Für viele Electro-Voice Lautsprecher stehen bo­xenspezifische Module zur Verfügung, die in bezug auf Übertragungs­verhalten und Dynamik eine optimale Anpassung bzw. Entzerrung der
Lautsprecherkomponenten gewährleisten.

Durch Verwendung der Frontmodule können sehr einfach und kosten­günstig hochwertige Mehrwegsysteme aufgebaut werden. Der Ver­kabelungsaufwand im Komplettsystem wird dabei drastisch reduziert.

Die Endstufen P1201 mit 1x1200W an 4Ohm und P1202 mit 2x600W
an 4Ohm vereinen überragende Audio-Performance mit höchster
Zuverlässigkeit und Betriebssicherheit.

Ein lückenloses Konzept an Protections schützt nicht nur die Endstu­fen, sondern auch die angeschlossenen Lautsprecher. Zu diesen
Schutzschaltungen gehören dynamische Audio-Limiter, DC/HF-Pro­tections, Back-EMF-Protection, Inrush Current Limiter, Short Circuit
Protection, Thermal Brain Circuit und natürlich die Temperaturüber­wachung der Endtransistoren und der Netztransformatoren. Über die
Softstart-Schaltung werden die Leistungsausgänge über Relais ver­zögert zugeschaltet.

Die thermische Stabilität wird durch zwei dreistufige Hochleistungs­lüfter mit sehr niedrigem Geräuschpegel gewährleistet. Die Luftfüh­rung ist Front-to-Rear, was den problemlosen Betrieb in großen und
schmalen Endstufen-Racks ermöglicht.
Comparatorschaltungen vergleichen ständig das Eingangs- und das
Ausgangssignal der Endstufen und steuern beim Auftreten von nicht­linearen Betriebszuständen die eingebauten Limiter. Sie schützen die
angeschlossenen Lautsprecher vor Überlast durch Endstufenclip­ping. Die Übertragungseigenschaften der P-Amps sind hervorragend.
Durch groß dimensionierte Netzteile mit streuarmen Ringkerntrans­formatoren wird ein großer Headroom weit oberhalb der ausgewiese­nen Nennleistung erzielt. In den Endstufen wurde auf die Verwendung
von V/I-Foldback - Limiter-Schaltungen verzichtet, so daß der Betrieb
an komplexen Lasten bis zu ± 90° Phasenwinkel problemlos möglich
ist. Höchste Präzision ist auch in der mechanischen Konstruktion und
Verarbeitung gewährleistet. Das robuste Stahlblech-Chassis ist be­sonders verwindungssteif und auf den harten Tourbetrieb ausgelegt.

Schnelle Auskunft über den Betriebszustand der Endstufen vermittelt
das leicht ablesbare LED-Display. Für die beiden Kanäle wird über­sichtlich angezeigt, ob Betriebsbereitschaft gegeben ist, ob ein Signal
am Ausgang anliegt, wann die Limiter ansprechen und ob eine der
Schutzschaltungen aktiv ist. Alle Endstufen der P-Amp Serie können
im Normalbetrieb an Lasten bis hinab zu 2 Ohm eingesetzt werden.

Description

P-Amps - a modular power amplifier concept and the most flexible
solution for any mobile and permanent installation application. The
modular architecture of the P-Amps allows flexible selection of filter/si­gnal processor as well as input and output modules. This provides the
possibility to easily include P-Amps power amplifiers into basically any
existing and most of all any future application, using principally any
connection technique. From the factory, the P-Amps are equipped with
an input module I-1 (XLR-type inputs with parallel connectors) and an
output module O-1 (SPEAKON-type connectors). The front slots of the
P-Amps are covered with blind panels. These slots are meant for
including filter or signal processor modules into the signal path. For
many Electro-Voice loudspeaker systems cabinet-pertinent modules
are available, which in regard to their frequency and dynamic response
optimally match the equalization of the loudspeaker components.

The use of front modules makes it easy to establish high quality and
yet cost effective multi-way systems while cabling of the entire system
is drastically reduced.

The power amplifiers P1201 providing 1 x 1200W into 4 ohms and
P1202 providing 2 x 600W into 4 ohms unite outstanding audio
performance, highest reliability, and security.

The comprehensive protection concept not only prevents the power
amplifiers from being damaged but also the connected loudspeaker
systems. This extensive protection circuitry includes dynamic audio
limiters, DC/RF protection, Back-EMF protection, inrush current limiter,
short circuit protection, thermal brain circuit, and of course the protec­tion against thermal overload of the power transistors and the trans­formers. During “soft start”, delayed switching the power outputs is
performed via relays.

Thermal stability is guaranteed by two extremely low-noise, 3-stage
fans. The air circulation is front-to-rear, allowing trouble-free operation
even in tall and slim power amplifier rack systems.

The embodied comparators constantly monitor the power amp’s input
and output signals, and control the integrated limiters whenever non­linearity is detected, thus protecting the connected loudspeaker sy­stems against overload and power amplifier clipping. The overall
response of the P-Amps is simply extraordinary. Using widely dimen­sioned power supplies with low-loss toroidal transformers provide
additional headroom way above the rated nominal power output capa­city. The power amplifiers do not employ V/I-Foldback-Limiters, which
allows to drive even complex loads with phase angles of up to ±90°
without any problem.

Also the mechanical construction and manufacturing guarantee hig­hest precision. The robust and highly rigid steel chassis is meant to
survive the extensive wear of touring applications.

The easily readable LED-display provides quick information about the
power amplifier’s operational state. Ready-mode, signal presence, and
the activation of limiters or of one of the protection functions are
indicated for both channels individually. All P-Amp Series power am­plifiers are capable of handling loads down to 2 ohms.
