Microphones Include VOB™Technology for Improved Vocal/Instrumental Clarity.
EV proved itself the leader of a sonic revolution, when, in 1986, EV introduced a radical neodymium-based magnet structure to microphone design. For the first time in history, engineers, musicians, and audio professionals were introduced to extended frequency response and increased power output.
Well, the revolution isnt over.
EV is now the only manufacturer to offer VOB™(Vocal-Optimized Bass) technology. With these revolutionary technologies you’ll hear every note and every word -- without the "muddiness" common in other models. They offer a clear vocal sound that will "cut through the mix" and when used to mic acoustic or electric instruments you’ll be amazed at the natural sound. Whether you’re miking an acoustic instrument, a vintage guitar amp, bass amp, brass or percussion, N/DYM
®
microphones are unparalleled in leaving your tone "intact." If you’re serious about tone you’ll love N/DYM microphones.

EVs N/DYM Vocal and Instrument microphones provide professional quality performance at a price working musicians can afford! N/DYM microphones feature the newest, most progressive, cutting-edge innovation – VOB
(Vocal-Optimized Bass) technology. VOB™technology was developed specifically to provide discerning audio professionals with greater vocal clarity in the bass response. It efficiently counteracts the "proximity effect," or bass boost, you hear in close-up microphone use, which tends to create "boomy" of "muddy" vocals. The N/DYM vocal and instrument microphone system sets the new standard for performance and value.

VOB™and the Modern Musician/Engineer
Well, weve all been to concerts and shows where the vocals just dont seem to cut it. If youre a performer you know how frustrating this experience can be, especially after youve invested your time and money into putting on the best performance possible. More often than not, poor vocal sound is the result of technology inherent to the microphone. Some mics use reduced "acoustical damping" in the diaphragm/resonator assembly to boost the bass response. Unfortunately, this boost causes resonant peak and time domain distortions, resulting in "muddy" or "boomy" sound.
VOB™technology counteracts the tendency of most microphones to get "muddy" and "boomy" by reducing unwanted resonant peaks in frequency response – in much the same manner as EVs Ring-Mode Decoupling (RMD™) speaker technology.

Vocal
The N/D767a is the singer and engineers first choice for outstanding vocal clarity in any live performance application. With low handling noise and VOB technology, the N/D767a sounds more like a condenser microphone allowing clarity through all frequencies, reducing boominess and P-popping associated with other dynamic mics in its class.
Supercardioid Pattern
N/D767a
The N/D267a & N/D267as are tuned for high-quality vocal performance, especially in live sound applications. EVs VOB technology provides the N/D267a & N/D267as with clear consistent sound without low-end distortion found in competitive microphones.
