Subject |
Water Leakage at the Rear Window of CWS machines |
Model |
Undercounter LS6EA / WT38 and Hood Type LS14EA / WT65E with |
Continuous Water Softener built-in. |
Problem |
Water leakage from the rear open window (air break). |
Reason |
Tank filling not properly set or boiler/tank filling not working properly. |
Action in |
Since serial number 61700001 we have introduced the firmware release |
Factory |
4.0260004 in main boards 0L0731 (not lead-free) and 0L1238 (lead-free) with |
following new features: |
• Disabled tank filling by boiler overflow whether SEr = 9 even if btF = 0. |
Therefore Undercounter/Hood Type with Continuous Water Softener built- |
in are always filled by short rinse cycles (btF = 75 as standard). |
• Disabled tank filling by boiler overflow if the water level decreases |
because of: |
1. |
level switch malfunctioning |
2. |
over-flow pipe not fitted properly |
3. |
drain cycle / self-cleaning cycle stop manually before the end |
4. |
opening door during drain cycle / self-cleaning cycle |
5. |
drain hose connected as for gravity drainage instead of having outlet |
between 750 mm and 1000 mm from the floor (see handbook). |
Therefore Undercounter/Hood Type with Continuous Water Softener builtin are always filled by short rinse cycles.
• Decreased inlet valve delay from 3 seconds to 2 seconds since reed sensor at the rear has open circuit (float level switch is in upper position).
This parameter cannot be changed by the user interface.

See the Technical Bulletin CG2006-12 “Firmware 4.02 in UC/HT with CWS” and the Service Manual – from edition 03.2006 onwards - for more details about new feature in firmware release 4.02 and above parameters.
Moreover you should check if:
1.the reed sensor at the rear works properly moving the floater up/down with a magnet and checking the main board with a tester.
If it’s out of its position or unstable, you can fix the reed connector with Loctite (be aware about contacts!).
2.the inlet valve has water flow reducer of 5 l/min removing the white filter with pliers. The reducer has to be black (there's also a black gasket so don't confuse water flow reducer and gasket).
Do NOT fit an inlet valve with higher water flow.
For instance, the 502016 WT38WS has inlet valve 0L0776 with water flow reducer 5 l/min while the same model without Continuous Water Softener built-in, the 502112 WT38, has inlet valve 0L0568 with water flow reducer 10 l/min. And pressure boiler machines have even higher water flow (20 l/min).
Undercounter/Hood Type with Continuous Water Softener built-in have inlet valve 0L0776.
