Once set, the temperature display shows "-" until the temperature inside the
fridge reaches +9°C or below.
Allow the cabinet to run for a period of 24 hours whenever the temperature
setting is changed. This will allow the temperature to stabilise inside the
cabinet.
It is not necessary to reset the temperature when the cabinet is switched on
after it has been out of use. The electronics recalls the previously set
temperature.
Temperature inside the fridge
A suitable temperature inside the fridge is approx. +5°C. Storage
temperature in the cabinet is even on all of the shelf levels. The vegetable
box which is placed in the bottom has a temperature of 3-4°C warmer than
the intended temperature setting.

Measuring the temperature
If the temperature is measured using
a standard, single thermometer, this
should be put in a glass of water
centrally placed inside the cabinet.
This will reflect the temperature
inside the food products. Do not
place the thermometer hanging or
lying directly on the shelf.
Hints:
·Distribute foodstuffs to allow
cold air to circulate freely between
the products.
·Also never put warm products
into the cabinet. Wait until they have
cooled down.
·Cover all foods properly.
Switching off
To switch off press and hold the
ON/OFF button for approx. 1
second. A so-called "count down" is
started in the temperature display,

Indicator lamp for the water filter:
The water dispenser is fitted with an
indicator lamp (L) which shows
when it is time to change the water
filter. When the indicator lamp stays
on, then the water filter has been
utilised to about 80 % of its
expected lifetime. In this situation, it
is recommended that you buy a
replacement filter. When the indicator lamp starts flashing, the water
filter has been utilised to 100% of its
lifetime. Replace the filter without
delay.
After replacing the filter cartridge,
see the section "Service during
operation". The indicator lamp can
be switched off by holding the
button for ordinary water (K)

Cabinet interior
The shelves and door compartments
are removable and can easily be
re-arranged.
Certain shelves must be lifted up by
the rear edge to enable them to be
removed.
The lower door compartment and the
glass shelf above the vegetable
drawer must not be moved. They are
fitted to ensure air circulation inside
the cabinet.
Shelves with a raised edge should be
placed with the raised edge facing
the rear wall of the cabinet.
The vegetable drawer has a
ventilation edging to increase the
circulation of air and reduce the risk
of condensation.

Quick chill shelf:
The lower Quick chill shelf can be
placed in one of the upper grooves.
To maintain the best performance the
shelf should be placed in the second
groove from the top.
HINT and TIPS
Saving energy
·Pay careful attention to where the cabinet is placed. See the section
"Installation". When installed correctly, the cabinet will consume less
energy.
·Try to avoid keeping the door open for long periods, or opening the door
too frequently as warm air will enter the cabinet, and cause the compressor
to switch on unnecessarily often.
·Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the door from closing
properly.
·Thaw frozen food in the fridge. This will ensure safer defrosting of foods
and reduce the work of the refrigeration unit
·It is advisable to periodically clean the refrigeration system at the back of
the appliance with a duster or vacuum cleaner.
·Always leave warm food to cool down to room temperature before
placing in the fridge.
Protect the environment
·Hand over the cabinet packaging and discarded fridges and freezers to a
recycling station. Contact your local council or Environmental Health office
for more information.
·Keep foodstuff in re-usable containers. Cut down on disposable material
as much as possible.
·When cleaning the cabinet, use a mild washing-up detergent.
·Follow the advice in the section "Saving energy"
·The door gasket and coolant used in this cabinet will not harm the ozone
layer.
·All parts in the packaging can be recycled.
·The cabinet has been designed for easy dismantling and subsequent
recycling.
12
AEG/Electrolux 8184261-00/9
Food Storage
·To obtain the best results from your appliance, neither hot foods nor
liquids which may evaporate, should be placed in the larder compartment.
·Avoid buying frozen food if you can not store it straight away. The use of
an insulated container is advisable. When you arrive home place the frozen
food in the freezer immediately.
·Ensure that food placed in the freezer is dated and labelled and used in
date order to ensure that food is consumed at its best. Remove suspect food
from you refrigerator and clean, refer to cleaning and maintenance.
·Make sure the door gasket is complete and always clean.
MAINTENANCE and CLEANING
Removing the ventilation grille
The ventilation grille can be
removed, e.g. to wash the grille.
Make sure the door is open when
removing the ventilation grille.
Unsnap the upper edge of the grille
by pulling outward/downward. Then
pull the grille straight out to
completely remove it.
Cleaning
Clean the cabinet at regular
intervals.
Disconnect the appliance from
electricity supply.
Internal Cleaning
Clean the inside and accessories
with warm water and bicarbonate of
soda (5ml to 0,5 litre water) Rinse
and dry thoroughly.
Regularly check the door seals and
wipe clean to ensure they are clean
and free from debris.
External Cleaning
Use water/neutral soap emulsion for
cleaning the surface of stainless
steel, anti-finger-print coated. Do
NOT use abrasive paste.
13
AEG/Electrolux 8184261-00/9
Wash the outer cabinet with warm
soapy water. Remove the ventilation
grille (see the section "Removing the
ventilation grille") and
vacuum-clean under the cabinet.
Once or twice a year dust t he
condenser (black grille) and the
compressor at the back of the
appliance, with a brush or vacuum
cleaner, as an accumulation of dust
will affect the performance of the
appliance and cause excessive
electricity consumption.
When moving the cabinet, lift it by
the front edge to avoid scratching the
floor.
Servicing and cleaning the water dispenser.
Never use cleaning agents with a grinding or aggressive effect.
When necessary, clean the surfaces of the dispenser and the water container
that are accessible from the outside, using only a soft cloth and warm water.
The dispenser drip bowl can be cleaned with a tepid solution of washing up
liquid.
If the system is not be used for a long period turn off t he water connection to
the refrigerator. A filter that has been in service shall not be exposed to
temperatures below 0 °C as cracking of the filter body may occur due to
freezing expansion.
If the filter still is to be preserved for later reuse, suitable storage
temperature will be +5 °C.
When the refrigerator is to be used again, rinse the system through
thoroughly by draining off at least three litres (5 pints) of water.
If necessary, all systems containing water m ust be sanitized by ordering the
necessary sanitizing kit through Electrolux Service Force Centre
(tel: +44 8705 929 929) or through our website www.electrolux.co.uk.
Service during operation
The water filter is replaced as follows:
Place a piece of kitchen tissue or a dishcloth in the space under the filter.
Remove the filter by turning it clockwise. A small amount of water will run
out. Dry off and fit the new filter.

The gas cylinder is replaced as follows: remove the gas cylinder and transfer
the adapter to the new cylinder.
The replacement gas cylinder is obtained through your local dealer .
To change the lamp
The light is switched on
automatically when the door is
opened. Before replacing the light
bulb, disconnect the power plug
from the outlet.
Cut the packaging around the bulb
socket.
Keep the packaging on to hold the
bulb when setting it into the socket.
Do not touch the bulb with your bare
fingers. Halogen light bulbs are
sensitive to grease from the skin.
Use a clear halogen light bulb.
Use a bulb of the same type, E14
socket, maximum rating of 25 W.
Change of carbon filter
To maintain the best performance the
carbon filter should be changed once
a year with normal usage.
New carbon filters can be purchased
from your local dealer. The filter is
placed behind the grill and can be
reached by opening the cover. The
cover can be opened by turning the
cover outward. The carbon filter is
pulled out of its slot.
The new carbon filter is placed in
the existing slot - The filter should
be handled carefully so fragments do
not loosen from the surface.
Defrosting the fridge
The fridge is defrosted automatically every time the compressor stops. Frost
formation can be prevented by:
·not putting warm foodstuff inside the cabinet.
·avoiding frequently opening the door or keeping it open too long.

When the appliance is not in use
Disconnect the appliance from electricity supply.
Empty all foods and clean the appliance, leaving the doors ajar to prevent
unpleasant smells.
If the cabinet is to be kept on, ask somebody to check it once in a while to
prevent the food inside from spoiling in case of a power failure.
Holiday Mode
In the holiday mode the temperature for the refrigerator is approximately
+15 °C. In the holiday mode it is therefore possible to leave the door of the
empty refrigerator closed during periods of extended absence. Advantage:
Unintentional closing of the door, or accidental closing of the door by
persons who have access to your home during your absence, is no longer
possible. Without the holiday mode leaving the door closed would lead to
the accumulation of odours and mould.
After emptying and cleaning the appliance, proceed as follows:
1. To set the holiday mode, press the "+" (WARMER) or "-" (COLDER)
button. The temperature display will change and indicate in flashing
numbers the DESIRED temperature that is currently set.
2. Hold down t he "+" (WARMER) button until the temperature display
indicates H (for holiday). The temperature shown in the temperature display
will change in steps of 1 °C until it reaches +8 °C. After +8 °C the value
+15 °C will appear in the display with the letter H. The fridge is now
operating in energy-saving holiday mode.
To switch t he fridge back to normal operation, press the "-" (COLDER)
button.
Important! Do not store any goods in the refrigerator when the holiday
mode is in operation. The temperature is regulated at about +15 °C when the
holiday mode is in operation. This is too warm for food products.
