The locking function: The locking function is activated by the production plant.
For temporary unlocking: Keep the button (I) pressed in for about three seconds until the yellow indicator lamp (H) goes out. The locking function is re-activated automatically after about three seconds. For permanent unlocking: Keep the buttons (I) and (J) pressed in at the same time for about three seconds. The button (I) or (J) lights up to indicate unlocking. To activate the locking function: Keep the buttons (I) and (J) pressed in at the same time for about three seconds. Activation is in dicated by the yellow indicator lamp (H) lighting up. Selecting and obtaining water: Before obtaining water, selection is carried out either by pressing the button for carbonated water (I) or the button for ordinary water (J). The actual choice is indicated by the button which lights up. The selection of water can be changed while the water is running. Water is obtained by pressing a glass or other container against the opening (M). Stop the water flow by moving the
glass or container downwards away from the opening (M). Any water that drips or is spilled is collected in the drip bowl below the water dispenser. When the carbonated water is being obtained, there is a slight afterflow when the glass is removed. The drip bowl can be detached and emptied when n ecessary.
Lighting: The water dispenser lighting (N) illuminates automatically when water is obtained. For continuous lighting:
1. Make sure that the water dispenser is unlocked.
2. Then hold the button for ordinary water (J) pressed in for about three seconds until the illuminates. The lighting then illuminates with about 50 % of its fu ll intensity.
To switch off the lighting:

HINT and TIPS
Saving energy
· Pay careful attention to where the cabinet is placed. See the section "Installation". When installed correctly, the cabinet will consume less energy.
· Try to avoid keeping the door open for long periods, or opening the door too frequently as warm air will enter the cabinet, and cause the compressor to switch on unnecessarily often.
· Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the door from closing properly.
· Thaw frozen food in the fridge. This will ensure safer defrosting of foods and reduce the work of the refrigeration unit
· It is advisable to periodically clean the refrigeration system at the back of the appliance with a duster or vacuum cleaner.
· Always leave warm food to cool down to room temperature before placing in the fridge.
· Make sure the door gasket is complete and always clean.
Food Storage
· To obtain the best results from your appliance, neither hot foods nor liquids which may evaporate, should be placed in the l arder compartment.
· Avoid buying frozen food if you can not store it straight away. The use of an in sulated container is advisable. When you arrive home place the frozen food in the freezer immediately.
· Ensure that food placed in the freezer is dated and labelled and used in date order to ensure that food is consumed at its best. Remove suspect food from you appliance and clean, refer to cleaning and maintenance.

e.g. to wash the grille. Make sure the door is open when removing the ventilation grille. Unsnap the upper edge of the grille by pulling outward/downward. Then pull the grille straight out to completely remove it.
Cleaning
Clean the cabinet at regular intervals. Internal Cleaning Disconnect the appliance from electricity supply. Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0,5 litre water) Rinse and dry thoroughly. Regularly check the door seals and wipe clean to ensure they are clean and free from debris.
External Cleaning Use water/neutral soap emulsion for cleaning the surface of stainless steel, anti-finger-print coated. Do NOT use abrasive paste. Wash the outer cabinet with warm soapy water. Remove the ventilation grille (see the section "Removing the
ventilation grille") and vacuum-clean under the cabinet. Once or twice a year dust the condenser (black grille) and the compressor at the back of the appliance, with a brush or vacuum cleaner, as an accumulation of dust will affect the performance of the appliance and cause excessive electricity consumption.
When moving the cabinet, lift it by the front edge to avoid scratching the floor.
Servicing and cleaning the water dispenser.
Never use cleaning agents with a grinding or aggressive effect. When n ecessary, clean the surfaces of the dispenser and the water container that are accessible from the outside, using only a soft cloth and warm water. The dispenser drip bowl can be cleaned with a tepid solution of washing up liquid. If the system is not be used for a long period turn off the water connection to the refrigerator. A filter that has been in service shall not be exposed to temperatures below 0 °C as cracking of the filter body may occur due to freezing expansion. If the filter still is to be preserved for later reuse, suitable storage temperature will be +5 °C.
14
When the refrigerator is to be used again, rinse the system through thoroughly by draining off at least three litres (5 pints) of water. If necessary , all systems containing water must be sanitized by ordering the necessary sanitizing kit through Electrolux Service Force Centre (tel: +44 8705 929 929) or through our website www.electrolux.co.uk.
