WARNINGS
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- sta kitchen areas in shops, oces and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• The appliance must not be immersed.
• WARNING: The lling aperture must not be opened during use.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if
they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and
its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
• Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• The surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
• Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the
section “Cleaning and Descaling” on page 3 of the manual.

• The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.

• The coee-maker shall not be placed in a cabinet when in use.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read all instructions before using the appliance and keep them for furture reference.
• The appliance is intended to make coee. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
• Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands while in use.
• Switch o and unplug the appliance from the mains socket when not in use or before cleaning.
• Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
• Be careful not to get scalded by steam.
• Never switch on the appliance without water in the water tank.
• Only use the glass jug supplied with this appliance. Never use it on a cooking surface.
• Do not use the jug if it is damaged or the handle is loose.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surface.
• Do not touch the warming plate when the appliance is in use, as this may cause burns or scalding

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials.
• Wipe the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
• It is recommended to wash the drip coee system before rst use.
• Fill the water tank with cold water and follow the directions for making drip coee to make at least two
jugs of coee without using ground coee.
• Switch o the coee maker and allow it to cool before relling with cold water.
MAKING DRIP COFFEE
1. Place the appliance on dry, at and heat-resistant surface, away from any edge.
2. Open the top cover.
3. Fill the water tank with the required amount of fresh, cold water using the water level indicator as a
guide.
The markings on the water tank window indicate the level of water required to brew the desired
number of cups.

To avoid overow, do not ll the water tank with water past the max line.
4. Place the mesh lter into the lter holder, making sure it is assembled correctly.
5. Place a 1x4 paper lter (not supplied) into the mesh lter.
6. Add the desired ground coee in the paper lter by spreading it evenly.
It is recommended to use a level spoon of ground coee (approximately 6g) for every cup of coee.
7. Close the top cover until a click is heard.
8. Slide the jug into the appliance ensuring it sits correctly on the plate.
9. Plug the coee maker into the mains socket.
10. Press the power on/o button to turn on the coee maker.
The power indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the appliance is brewing coee.
11. The coee will begin to ow from the lter holder after a short time.
During brewing, you can remove the jug from the warming plate. The brewing process does not stop
during this period and only the ow of coee from the lter holder stops. Do not remove the jug for
longer than 30 seconds or the coee may overow the lter holder.
Although the coee maker has the above feature, it is not recommended to pour coee before the cycle
has completed as it may aect the avour of the coee.
It is normal for the appliance to emit steam while it is brewing coee.
The brewing process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the power on/o button. The power
indicator light will go out.
12. When the brewing process is nished, wait for about 1 minute to allow coee to stop dripping and then
remove the jug to serve.
13. To keep the coee warm after the brewing process has nished, place the jug on the warming plate.
The appliance is designed to keep the coee warm for approximately 40 minutes and then the
appliance will be turned o automatically.
14. To turn o the coee maker, press the power on/o button.
The power indicator light will go out.
CLEANING AND DESCALING
Turn o and unplug the appliance from the mains socket. Allow the appliance to cool down
before cleaning.
• Clean the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Clean the removable parts in warm soapy water then rinse them thoroughly.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents.
Descaling
Regularly descale the appliance using a kettle descaler.
1. Fill the tank with water and descaler to the MAX line. (Refer to the descaler instructions
for the scale of water and descaler.)
2. Place the jug onto the plate.
3. Plug in the appliance and then press the power on/o button.

4. After descaling, rinse out the appliance by operating the appliance using water at least
twice (two full tanks of water).
