EH-R1 ribbon microphone

Overview

The stunning looks of the EH-R1, combined with the classic sound of

its double ribbon filament, make this a very desirable microphone. The

Electro-Harmonix EH-R1 is suitable in any situation where a warm

and rounded sound is required. The virtually non-existent noise floor

means that when used in conjunction with a good pre-amp, such as the

Electro-Harmonix 12AY7 tube Mic-Pre, you have the ideal microphone

for digital recording. Following in the tradition of the classic ribbon mics,

the EH-R1 has many advantages and uses in broadcast and installation.

Due to the sound rejection from the sides, the definition is excellent.

The figure-eight pattern is almost completely uniform at all frequencies.

It is eminently suited to string and brass instruments. The overall sound

is pure but never harsh and gives a particularly pleasing smooth sound to

vocals. The EH-R1 offers a unique and different sound that once again

shows that the ribbon should never have been ignored or forgotten.
