The FlexScan EV series embodies EIZO’s

Auto EcoView Sensor

“EcoView” concept of combining ergonomic

and environmental features for an economi-

cal result. A compact design, flexible stand,

and energy-saving presence sensor make these

monitors ideal for trading floors, government

facilities, offices, and homes.

Power Management Software

EIZO EcoView NET software allows your organiza­tion to reduce its electric bills while minimizing its
burden on the environment by centralizing control
over the power settings of monitors on a network.
For FlexScan EV series and other EIZO monitors
that support DDC/CI, you can adjust the bright­ness, turn the Auto EcoView function on and off,
and lock the control buttons to prevent tampering
with screen settings. You can also switch a PC's
primary power and a monitor's secondary power on
and off regardless of the manufacturer.

Ergonomics

Versatile Positioning

These monitors are available in a choice of two
stands: the highly versatile FlexStand (shown below)
and the space-saving TriStand. Both stands offer
tilt, swivel and height adjustment. The FlexStand
also offers portrait rotation, laptop-like screen
placement, and 171 mm of height adjustment. The
FlexStand features an innovative, bearingless design
that reduces mechanical wear and the amount of
torque required to adjust height. A quick release
feature on the FlexStand allows for easy monitor
reconfiguration.

EcoView NET summarizes and displays how much
power is saved for each monitor as a result of using
it over a specified period of time. It is compatible
with various Windows operating systems and is

Optimized Brightness with Auto EcoView

The Auto EcoView function is a sensor on the front
of the monitor that measures ambient light and
optimizes the screen’s brightness to a level akin to
viewing a sheet of paper under typical office lighting
conditions. Since the screen is never too bright, eye
strain is reduced while power consumption is cut by
up to 39%. (See chart to the far right.)

EyeCare Manager

EIZO’s EyeCare Manager prompts workers to take
scheduled breaks to avoid eye fatigue caused by
prolonged monitor use. EyeCare also totals and dis­plays on-screen the monitors’ usage hours for each
day and month to promote worker appreciation of
improved work habits.

Presence Sensor for Power Savings

An integrated presence sensor called EcoView Sense
prompts the monitor to switch to power save mode
when it does not detect your presence for 180 seconds,
and then resume normal operation when you return.
To prevent the screen from reactivating when it
shouldn’t, EcoView Sense differentiates between your
presence and a still object like an empty chair or
general office activity in the background.

Confirm Power Savings with EcoView Index

To encourage environmental
awareness while working, a
gauge called EcoView Index
displays how much power is being saved by using Auto
EcoView. The more EcoView Index lights up, the
greater the savings.

Compact Design

A space-saving, compact design reduces the number of
internal components, making these monitors thinner
and lighter than previous FlexScan widescreen models.
This allows them to be shipped in smaller boxes which
use between 80% to 100% recycled material.

monitor, the EV series'
slimmed-down cabinet
design cuts the use and
weight of sheet metal com­ponents, shown here, by up
to 90%.

Environmentally Friendly LED Backlight

The FlexScan EV2313W uses an LED backlight which
contains no mercury and uses less power than con­ventional CCFL backlights. As a result, it consumes
only 16 watts of power during normal use and less 0.9
watts in power save mode.

Improved Work Efficiency,
Reduced Visual Fatigue

EIZO conducted a survey in 2008 to establish the
relationship between eye fatigue and monitor use.
The results showed that features like Auto EcoView
and ergonomic stands helped reduce eye fatigue and
improved work efficiency by 12.5%. For a white

Auto EcoView cuts power consumption by up to 39%
compared to operating the monitor at the default
brightness of 100%.

5-Year Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty

5-year warranty (touch panel and
multitouch monitors have a 3-year
warranty). This makes them an investment that pays
off over time — doing away with worries of frequent

The 1920 × 1080 native resolution (16:9 aspect ratio)
displays all the content of full high-definition video
sources such as Blu-ray disks without any horizontal
letterboxing.

Preset Modes for Optimum Viewing

Text, Movie, Picture, sRGB, and Custom (user­defined settings) preset modes are included for
optimum viewing of different kinds of content. You
can switch between modes simply by pressing a
button on the monitor’s front bezel.

DisplayPort Connectivity

A DisplayPort input allows digital audio and video
signal transmission via a single, high-bandwidth
cable at distances up to 15 meters without any
signal degradation. DVI-D and D-Sub inputs are
also included.

Smooth Playback of Moving Images

An overdrive circuit reduces gray-to-gray response
time to ensure that moving images look clean and
sharp with a minimum of blurring and ghosting.

Built-In Speaker and Headphone Jack

One 0.35-watt internal speaker and a headphone jack
are included.

Detailed Color Control

The OSD menu offers a wide array of color
adjustment function including brightness, contrast,
gamma, saturation, hue, gain, and color temperature
from 4,000 K to 10,000 K in 500 K increments.
