*Driver for Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP:

I. Install the Hardware

Note. This step is for EW-7628Ig PCI card only, if you are going

to setting EW-7608Pg Cardbus, please jump to chapter II.
directly and do not install the adaptor into your computer

before installing the software program from the CD.

Installation Procedure

1. Turn off your computer and remove its cover.

2. Insert the PC I card to an available PCI slot firmly.

3. Secure this card to the rear of the computer chassis and put
back the cover.

4. Secure the antenna to the antenna connector of the card.

5. Turn on the computer.

Guidelines for the Hardware Installation
Please observe the following guidelines when you are installing
the PCI card to the Desktop PC:

Avoid placing the PC close to obstacles

Obstructions such as concrete walls and thick metals limit radio
signal penetration and reduce the throughput and the coverage
range of the PCI card and Place the PC as high as possible
The higher the PC is placed, the better the performance.

Adjust the antenna position

The card has two antennas for signal reception and one antenna
for high power signal transmission. The antennas on the right
and left side are for signal reception and should be set
perpendicular (90 degrees) to each o ther. The central one is for
signal transmission and should be pulled up about 45 degree.
Please refer to the illustration below:

“Found New Hardware Wizard” is displayed after the PCI card is
installed and the computer is restarted. Click “Cancel”.

The following installation operates under Windows XP.
Procedures are similar for Windows 98SE/Me/2000.

II. Install the Driver and Utility

Insert the Installation CD to yo ur CD-ROM drive, the setup
programs will appear. Click the model name

Then execute the “Product Utility”

The setup programs will be start

Click “Yes” to process the installation if you accept the license
agreement.

In Windo ws XP, there is a “Windows Zero Configuration Tool” for
you to setup the wireless adaptor. You can choose to configure
the adaptor through the Windows Zero Configuration Tool or the

Ralink Configuration Tool for the adaptor. It is recommended to

choose the Ralink Configuration Tool for the adaptor.
Click “Next” to continue.

If you need the adaptor to operate with better performance,
please choose the “Optimize for performance” to e nable the Tx
Burst mode. Or you can choose “Optimize for Wi-Fi mode” to let
the adaptor run in standard wireless network.

The system starts to install the software of the adaptor. Please

follow the instructions of the program to plug in the adaptor into
your computer. And the system will automatically detect the
adaptor.

Please click “Finish” to complete the installation.

III. Use the Ralink Configuration Utility

When the adaptor is installed, the Ralink configuration utility will
be displayed automatically. This adaptor will auto connect to

wireless device which has better signal strength and no wireless
security setting.

There will be an icon displayed in the system tray. You can
double click the icon in the system tray to open the Ralink
configuration utility.

In Windo ws XP, there is a “Windows Zero Configuration Tool” for
you to setup wireless clients. If you want to switch to use Ralink
configuration utility, please follow one of the ways as below.

First Way

Right click the icon in the system tray and select “Use RaConfig

as Configuration utility”.

Second Way

Right-click the icon and select “View Available Wireless
Networks”.

Click “Advanced”.

Uncheck “Use Windows to configure my wireless network

settings” to enable the utility for the adaptor.

Note: If “Wireless Zero Configuration” is enabled, you can only
configure the advance setting or check the link status and
statistics from the configuration utility of the adaptor.

I. Instalace Hardware

Pozor. Tento krok je pouze pro EW-7628Ig PCI kartu, pokud

potřebujete nastavit EW-7608Pg Cardbus PC-card, přejděte

počítače dokud není nainstalován software program z

Instalační procedura

Pokyny k instalaci Hardware
Prosím věnujte pozornost následujícím pokynům pro instalaci
PCI karty do desktop PC.

Vyhněte se umístění PC poblíž překážek

Překážky jako betonová zeď a silné kovové součásti ome zují
šíření radiového signálu a snižují propustnost a pokrytí pomocí
PCI karty. Umístěte proto PC z těchto důvodů co nejvýše pro
zajištění co nejlepšího výkonu karty.

Přizpůsobení správné polohy antény

Karta má dvě antény pro příjem signálu a jednu anténu pro
vysoce výkonné šíření signálu. Antény po pravé a levé straně
jsou pro příjem signálu a měly by být kolmo na sebe (90 stupňů).
Centrální anténa je pro vysílání signálu a měla by být nastavena
v úhlu 45 stupňů. Viz obrázek níže:

“Průvodce přidáním hardwaru” se objeví po instalaci PCI karty
do počítače a jeho zapnutí. Klikněte na “Storno”.

Následující instalační procedura proběhne pod Windows XP.
Postup je obdobný ve Windows 98SE/Me/2000.

II. Instalace ovladačů a obslužné utility

Vložte instalační CD do CD-ROM mechaniky, objeví se úvodní
obrazovka. Vyberte název produktu.

Pak vyberte položku “Product Utility”

Spustí se setup program.

Klikněte na “Yes/Ano” pro spuštění instalace pokud souhlasíte
se zobrazeným licenčním ujednáním.

Ve Windows XP je nástroj “Windows Zero Configuration Tool”
určený pro instalaci bezdrátové karty. Můžete vybrat konfiguraci

adaptéru pomocí nástroje Windows Zero Configuration Tool

nebo nástroje Ralink Configuration Tool. Pro adaptér se
doporučuje využít nástroje Ralink Configuration.
Klikněte “Next/Další” pro pokračování.

Pokud potřebujete, aby adaptér pracoval vyšší výkoností prosím
zvolte “Optimize for performance” a aktivujte Tx Burst mode.
Nebo vyberte “Optimize for Wi-Fi mode”, aby adaptér pracoval
efektivně ve standardní bezdrátové síti.

Systém spustí instalaci software pro adaptér. Prosím postupujte
podle instrukcí programu aby byl adaptér zaveden do vašeho
počítače. Systém poté adaptér automaticky rozpozná.

Prosím klikněte “Finish/Ukončit” pro skončení instalace.

III. Používání Ralink Configuration Utility

Po instalaci adaptéru se automaticky zobrazí Ralink Wireless
konfigurační utilita. Tento adaptér bude automaticky spojen k

tomu bezdrátovému zařízení, které má větší sílu signálu a nemá
nastavené zabe zpečení bezdrátového přenosu.

V systémové liště/pane lu se zobrazí nová ikona. Dvojklikem na
tuto ikonu můžete přímo spustit Ralink konfigurační utilitu.

Ve Windows XP je k dispozici nástroj “Windows Zero
Configuration Tool” pro setup bezdrátových klientů. Pokud

chcete využívat Ralink konfigurační utilitu prosím postupujte dle
následujících instrukcí.

Jedna možnost

Klikněte pravým tlačítkem myši na ikonu na liště panelu
systémových nástrojů a vyberte “Use RaConfig as Configuration
utility” / “Použít RaConfig ke konfiguraci”.

Druhá možnost

Klikněte pravým tlačítkem myši na ikonu a vyberte “View
Available Wireless Networks” / “Zobrazit bezdrátové sítě”.

Klikněte na “Advanced” / “Pokročilé”.

Zrušte zatržení “Use Windows to configure my wireless network
settings” / “Použít Windows ke konfiguraci bezdrátové sítě” a tím
zprovozněte utilitu adaptéru.

Pozor: Pokud je aktivováno “Wireless Zero Configuration”,
můžete pouze konfigurovat pokročilé nastavení nebo
kontrolovat stav spojení a statistiky z konfigurační utility
adaptéru.

I. Installation der Hardware

zuerst die Software von der CD und erst dann den Adapter in

Installationsablauf

1. Schalten Sie Ihren Computer aus und öffnen Sie das
Gehäuse.

2. Stecken Sie die PCI-Karte fest in einen freien
PCI-Steckplatz.

3. Schrauben Sie diese Karte an der Rückseite des Gehäuses
fest und schließen Sie das Gehäuse wieder.

4. Schrauben Sie die Antenne auf den Antennenanschluss der
Karte.

5. Schalten Sie den Computer ein.

Richtlinien für die Hardware-Installation
Bitte beachten Sie die folgenden Richtlinien, wenn Sie die
PCI-Karte in einem Desktop-PC installieren:

Vermeiden Sie es, den PC in der Nähe von Hindernissen
aufzustellen

Hindernisse, wie z. B. Betonwände und dicke Metalle,
begrenzen die Signalstärke des Funksignals und reduzieren den
Datendurchsatz und den Erfassungsbereich der PCI-Karte.
Stellen Sie den PC so hoch wie möglich.
Je höher der PC positioniert ist, desto besser ist die Leistung.

Justieren Sie die Antennenposition

Die Karte hat zwei Antennen für den Signalempfang und eine

Antenne für eine hochleistungsfähige Signalübertragung. Die
Antennen auf der rechten und linken Seite sind für den
Signalempfang zuständig und sollten rechtwinklig (90 Grad)

zueinander stehen. Die Antenne in der Mitte ist für die
Signalübertragung zuständig und sollte in einem Winkel von
etwa 45 Grad stehen. Bitte sehen Sie in die nachfolgende
Abbildung:

Nach der Installation der PCI-Karte wird der “Assistent für das
Suchen neuer Hardware” angezeigt und der Computer neu

gestartet. Klicken Sie auf “Abbreche n”.

Im Folgenden wird die Installation unter Windows XP
beschrieben. Die Vorgehensweise unter Windows
98SE/Me/2000 ist ähnlich.

II. Installation des Treibers und des Dienstprogramms

Legen Sie die Installations-CD in Ihr CD-ROM-Laufwerk, damit
das Setup aufgerufen wird. Klicken Sie auf Ihr Modell.

Führen Sie dann das “Product Utility” (Produktdienstprogramm)
aus.

Das Setup wird gestartet.

Wenn Sie dem Lizenzvertrag zustimmen, klicken Sie auf “Yes”
(Ja), um die Installation fortzuführen.

Bei Windows XP gibt es den “Konfigurationsfreien Dienst für
drahtlose Verbindungen”, mit dem Sie den drahtlosen Adapter
einrichten können. Sie können wählen, ob Sie den Adapter mit

Bei Windows XP gibt es den “Konfigurationsfreien Dienst für

Evitez de placer le PC près d'obstacles

Les obstacles tels que les murs ou les métaux épais limitent

Plus le PC est haut, plus les performances sont accrues.

Régler la position de l'antenne

Le message "Un nouvel assistant matériel a été détecté" “Found
New Hardware Wizard” apparaît après que la carte PCI ait été

installée et que le PC ait été redémarré. Cliquez sur "Annuler"

II. Installation du pilote et de l'utilitaire

Regolare la posizione dell'antenna
La scheda ha due antenne per la ricezione del segnale ed
un'antenna per la trasmissione dei segnali a potenza elevata. Le
antenne sul lato destro e sinistro sono per la ricezione del

segnale e devono essere impostate in maniera perpendicolare
(90 gradi) l'una rispetto all'altra. Quella centrale è per la

trasmissione del segnale e deve essere tirata su di circa 45

Compare il messaggio “Rilevata l'Installazione Guidata di Nuovo
Hardware” dopo che la scheda PCI viene installata e il computer

Richtlijnen voor de hardware-installatie

Zorg ervoor dat u de PC niet te dicht bij obstakels plaatst

Бетонные стены и массивные металлоконструкции
уменьшают проницаемость сигнала, что приводит к
понижению скорости передачи данных, а так же к
уменьшению зоны покрытия. Размещайте Ваш компьютер
максимально выше.
