
Quick Start to Wireless Networking
1. Install WLAN PCMCIA Card driver for Windows 98, ME, 2000, and NT
1. Select Run from the Start menu. Type “E:\WLAN PCMCIA Card\Utility\Setup.exe” in the
Open box (where is your CD-ROM drive) and click OK.
2. Follow the installation wizard to setup step by step.
3. The next screen will tell you the directory into which the utility will be installed. Accept the
default directory or if you wish, enter an alternate location, then click Next to proceed.
5. Once the installation is
complete, a dialog box will
appear asking if you want
to restart the computer.
Click OK to accept.
4. The Select Folder dialog
box allows you to accept
the default application
program folder name or to
assign a name of your
preference.

6. When the installation is done, restart the computer.
7. After the restart, insert the WLAN PCMCIA Card into any free PCMCIA port on your
Notebook.
8. Windows will automatically detect the WLAN PCMCIA Card as a new device and display
the Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box. Click Next to continue.
9. Follow the installation wizard to setup step by step.
10. Once your system has restarted, in Con trol Panel, double-cli ck the System icon, click the
Device Manager tab. Operation System will detect new device.
11. After completing the Utility installation process, check the toolbar at the bottom of the
screen. There is a small icon to indicate the connection status. Red color means no
connection and blue color means connected.
! Caution: Do not insert WLAN PCMCIA Card in to the compu ter until the i nstallation is
finished.

2. Install WLAN PCMCIA Card driver for Windows XP
1. Insert the CD ROM and the WALN PCMCIA Card and then a diagram will show up to
indicate that a new hardware is found by Windows XP. Click on the “ Install the software
automatically [Recommended]” for next step.
2. The WLAN PCMCIA Card will find its path directly from the CD ROM as shown in below.
(The path for Windows XP is E:\WLAN PCMCIA Card\Drivers\winXP, where is from the
CD-ROM)
3. The last diagram shown as below indicates all the driver installation is done.
