Defrosting NEVER DEFROST THE UNIT BY USING A METAL TOOL (E.G., ICE PICK, SCREWDRIVER) TO SCRAPE OR CHIP OFF THE ICE. You may defrost this freezer once every few months or whenever ¼” of frost develops in on the walls. Remove the electrical plug from the wall socket, open the door and remove all contents. Defrost using a plastic scraper, or let the temperature rise naturally until the frost melts, then wipe away the remaining ice and water. You may also want to clean the unit at this time. Once you have finished, plug the freezer back in and make sure the temperature knob is still set where you would like it to be set. The colder the settings, the more frost will build up. Additionally, the more humid the ambient conditions, the more frost will build up. Keep the

door closed as much as possible and avoid opening the door unless necessary to minimize frost build-up.

Cleaning your freezer

Before you start to clean your freezer, remove the electrical plug from the power supply. You may want to defrost the freezer at this time. If so, follow the above instructions. To clean the freezer, use a soft rag and a mixture of lukewarm water and baking soda (2 tablespoons baking soda in 1 quart of water works well). Clean the freezer and then dry it with a soft cloth.

The freezer does not cool sufficiently
- If the door has been opened too often, or it has
been left open for a while it will take time for the freezer to reach its set temperature.
- Check that the airflow from the rear of the
freezer has not been reduced or obstructed due to insufficient clearance.
Storage
If the freezer is not in use for a long period of time, it should be stored. Disconnect the freezer from the power supply by removing the plug from the wall socket. Defrost, clean and dry the inside. Leave the door open to prevent any unpleasant smells from building up while the freezer is not in use. CAUTION: store the unit in a way so that children will not play with it- there is a danger of child entrapment within the unit!
