Since introduction of the Dynavox 3.X Fullrange-horns we were asked one
question: Will there be a budget Dynavox-Horn?

Our engineers developed for a long time to realise a moderately priced
horn. Simple Downscaling of the Dynavox 3.2 was impossible as this
wouldn´t have reduced the price very much.

The solution is a unique loudspeaker with - compared to the 3.X models ­simple but unique design.

Due to the fullrange principle a crossover network is obsolete. This enables
not only to reduce costs but gives a lifelike, unfiltered performance, impos­sible to achieve with common 2 or 3-way designs.

The UniQorn is able to perform deep notes with authenticity and ease only
a horn design can do.
Performance is always - either at low or high levels - subtle and lean, rich of
color (yet uncolored) and clear. Musical instruments are performed with
body, richness and 3-dimensional.

Music has that kind of authentic „aura”, which lets you enjoy music in a
new and most fascinating way.

To improve high frequency performa-
ce Dynavox added a horn super­tweeter. This doesn´t make the
UniQorn a two-way speaker as the 8”
driver still works fullrange.
The horn is precision-machined
from solid aluminum. It features a
very strong neodymium magnet.
UniQorn´s tweeter radiates frequen-

cies above 14khz. Therefore the tweeter can´t be located as a sound-source.

The horn-tweeter is coupled via a single high-quality foil-capacitor, which is
the minimum solution.

Efficiency of the UniQorn is extremely high (96dB @ 1W / 1m)
The UniQorn is perfect for low power amps either tube or solid state.
In rooms up to 30 sqm 3 watts of a single ended triode (SET) amp are
enough to allow high listening levels.
Performance of this combination is ultra-musical and highly emotional.
When combined with a 20 watt amp the UniQorn is able to address rooms
up to 60sqm at high levels. For budget solutions we recommend small, but
fine solid state amps such as NAD320, Mission etc. Performance of such a
budget combination surprises and convinces the listener at the same time.

Dynavox UniQorn

Enclosure features a rigid frame, front and rear walls are made from 4mm
(5/32 inch) thin birch plywood. Contour of the backloaded basshorn is twice
folded and separated into two mirrored halfs helping to minimize reso­nances inside the horn.

Bass horn´s energy is radiated to the bottom of the speaker. The floor is
coupled to the horn and together with the front and rear walls of the
UniQorn
the opening of the horn is virtually enlarged.
This „trick” enables the UniQorn to
radiate deeper frequencies as one
would imagine (Depending on room
size between 50 and 40 Hz).

The UniQorn features a 8” Dual­Cone-Fullrange-drive unit, which is
manufactured by Dynavox as a repli­ca of the famous vintage fullrange
drivers.

Positioning of the UniQorn is easy to do. The speakers can be positioned
either close to the wall or free. When positioned close to the wall more bass
volume Is achieved but without loss of clarity.

In every way the UniQorn is a real Dynavox. From the bigger models known
qualities were realised without compromise.
Only the maximum listening level is somewhat lower, but it is still in the
range of big conventional speakers.
